As someone else stated, they already have all of the 7mm screws removed for this video...the top dash ones are cumbersome and I had one additional connector to the top dash piece I had to remove that wasn't called out in the video (2016 CTS). Also, you'll notice in the video when they remove the micro USB plug from the back of the unit that they break the clip that holds it in place/releases it. I was unable to get the plug out without that clip breaking as well...so not sure what the trick is there...but it still plugs in securely even with the broken top latch so not a concern. Screen is working GREAT! Very happy.
Success! Thanks for a good video. The video already has the screws taken out. Getting them out is a bit of a chore, especially the front left screw which is jammed so close to the windshield that getting to it is a little tricky. But I did it successfully. Really didn't have any trouble at all, other than my heart rate which was ramped up pretty high with anxiety that something would go wrong. It didn't.
The 2014 CTS has an automatic headlight sensor in the center of the top dash that reads ambient light. Take a note of which way it's supposed to face before you dismantle the top dash section so you can get it back in right later.
I live in Des Moines! just found out you guys are from cedar rapids. I'll be buying the kit from Amazon here soon. mine just cracked today
