I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have had this issue with the usb power/data with my ipod since day1. 160GB ipod unusable through CUE because the power from the car won't sustain it.
Short story: I'm a dummy and scratched the top of my consoles leather. I got online and bought a new console for $100.00. I was trying to find out how to replace it and ran into your video. The piece that you took out of the center of the console, which has the lid on it , is the only piece i wanted to replace anyway. Extra super jackpot bonus, the new console has the upgraded usb port so now my gouge is gone in the leather and I have a powerful usb plug. Thanks for the awesome down to earth approach and videos, keep up the good work!! only 8 screws lol

Hi, I have a 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE, THE STOCK USB PORT HAS ONE USB-TYPE A PORT. WHEN I LOOKED UP THE PART NUMBER TO REPLACE IT THERE WAS AN UPDATED PART NUMBER BUT THE UPDATE PART NUMBER COMES WITH TWO USB PORTS INSTEAD OF THE ORIGINAL ONE. THEY PHYSICALLY LOOK THE SAME DO YOU THINK THAT THEY WILL WORK IF I PUT THE USB PORT WITH TWO PORTS INTO THE WIRE HARNESS. THE CONNECTIONS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME

I have a 2015 Cadillac ATS, my USB Port stoped working! I’m pretty sure it’s a blown fuse because nothing in the center consul works anymore :( what fuse box and fuse number do I replace in order to get power back to my Center console?

Great video - like the current test and what you really gain with the upgrade. I was already running a 12V adapter with USBC power delivery to my Note 20 Ultra. It runs AA (wirelessly) in another vehicle and keeps my note 100% the whole time. I'll be interested to see what the 1.5A "quick charge" does on my Samsung Note.
I didn't try a screwdriver, but had a 90 degree angled pic that slipped right in and popped the old USB port out and also helped disconnect the connectors. It was nice having the new one to look at and figure out what it would take to release it - than use that with the existing one. Yes, the wires were short (2016 SRX), but I was able to do the swap without taking the console completely out.
Is this upgrade still available? And can it be used on an ATS? Thank you
Yes still a valid upgrade and I believe it can be used on the ATS if your unit looks similar.
Have you considered modding the wiring harness to use the newer 2019+ charging adapter (13525431 / 13529869)? It might provide higher charge rate plus SD card.
No I haven’t. It’s a pain to remove the whole console for all that wiring. But maybe you could run new stuff without pulling it up.

Soooo... What's the best way to remove a broken USB connector from the USB port? While pulling it out of the center console the locking tab got knocked off? Asking for a friend who totally should have focused on removing the rear HVAC that I... Umm he swears will not budge no matter how hard he pulls 😬

I have a 2011 Cadillac CTS and I’m trying to replace my aux input because it doesn’t work would I take the same steps ? Where would I find the part for it ?
I don’t know where the aux is on the 2011. Gmpartsdirect.com is a place to find the part or at least the part number then search eBay if you want.
How do you replace the the armrest on a 2018 CT6? I have the whole armrest and tray assembly

Hey man I have a 2015 Cadillac ATS, and my USB port doesn’t work and it’s in my center console! What fuse box and number would I replace to get it to work again??
All Cadillac owners manuals are available for free in PDF. Just search via google it will probably be top 5. There’s a dude diagram in there. Hope you get it sorted. If not it’s a cheap part to replace.
Also there’s a label on the back of the fuse cover. Located on driver side near the vent panel when you open the door. If it’s not there it’s in the engine bay (but probably not there)
I checked out my 2016 ATSV & it has both the 2.5 CUE& USB updates. Do you know if the ATSV Sedan was like this factory od or did the previous owner? The online owners manual showed the projection how to use. So I'm thinking my 2016 already had it
Boywonderr71 ATS-V Came from the factory like that. I may be wrong but there is a chance that some of the early 2016 vehicles did not have it.. Not all of them had both CarPlay and android auto activated but it can be done at the dealer with quick programming I believe.
What does it mean when you plug in and it says it doesn’t support your accessory? How can you fix this?
Usually that’s a bad cable or maybe your usb port doesn’t have the connector properly connected. There are many reasons though.
@@JetFuelOnly I tried several cables, what would be the next logical thing to do? Pull the plug out?
@UlyssesMcGill yeah pull out the port make sure it’s plugged in. Does anything else charge on the port? If not your fuse may be blow. Check your manual to find it. Also your phone charging port could be dirty
@@JetFuelOnly it still charges my phone but it won’t hook to radio
@UlyssesMcGill hmm not sure then. If it’s getting power your phone doesn’t like the data connection to the car for some reason. Just double check there are a couple of connectors on it.
Try a CUE reset to just in hopes. Might lose radio stations. Google it

Would this work for a 2010 CTS Wagon Lux? A jack broke in my port and I'd like to upgrade it with a usb addition.
Good question, but since my car is a generation later than yours I don’t think there’s a very good chance it will work

I have a 2018 ct6. I can't play music using scan disc stick. When I plug it in, cue reads no media available. Please help
Make sure you follow the details outlined in the CUE manual for USB sticks. Here’s a link. Go to page 24:

I took the ct6 back to dealership
They said usb port is fine.
I then put my usb stick in xt5 2021 and it worked fine. I'm confused
i used screw driver picks to upgrade usb for my 2013 xts now im just waiting for my radio&hmi module to install

Ammar Ameen yes. Also the 2017 and later CTS has a white version of this unit that is used in many models.

Your USB port is likely to already be the higher charging one.

I upgraded my cue system on my 2014 but the projection button doesn’t display carplay and carplay never appears. When i plugin my phone, it tells me to accept carplay which i’ve done but still no carplay appears. Do you think upgrading the USB Port would fix my issue? I’ve heard about a USB Upgrade and carplay relations but not sure if it will help. Thanks in advanced!
Haeden Perrenot hmm. Maybe it some people have run CarPlay on regular usb I thought. Did you get the unit programmed or did you just buy and install. (Sorry I have to ask)
Jet Fuel Only I installed and programmed the unit at my local GM Dealership. Replaced the USB with the said upgraded one and the issue persists. CarPlay also bugs out when activating Siri. Seems all very strange to me
Haeden Perrenot yeah that’s is strange. I don’t think I have answer for you. But something may not be right with one of the units or the programming. I’m sorry you ran into this issue
