- The day has finally come where I attempt to finally dial in the custom tune to my upgraded Pure Stage 2 High Flow turbos and show you how much my power my BMW E93 335i makes. For the last several months I've been logging street pulls via MHD and sending files to a remote tuner to get things done. After experiencing delays, after delays I finally decided to visit a local shop that has a dyno and finish with the custom tune in one day. Things sadly, didn't go as planned and it's unfortunate...

BTW we are still working on the tune as we speak, car already has a new Map sensor, new boost solenoids, new vacuum lines, everything has been checked 20x times, Tuner knows what he is doing with the N54 platform so I’m working with him to solve the issue.
LOL My car is having the same issue: No code, over boosting, throttle closure. Please update once you guys figured it out.
I think I found the culprit for my car....I left JB4 in stock flash (steering wheel control menu 4 option 3). I switched to menu 4 option 2 for Backend Flash, and then did 4-5 pulls, the problem seems gone as now. Hope this help.
When I rebuilt my wastegates, I didn't leave enough clearance for them to move, so when they would get really hot, they would get jammed.
A temp fix would be install a standalone boost controller and set that to your target pressure to get it running safe for the meantime. If that doesn't stop your overboost, what size wastegates, internal or external? They may not be big enough to divert enough exhaust out and this could be causing your overboost.
Thinking about it if they are internally wastegated turbos it very well could be the issue. Ask your tuner to dial back fuel and see if that bring the boost down.
"Why does my car ALWAYS have issues' - every N54 owner :(
I kept my stock and she’s happy as ever :P
@Toast It’s faster in a straight line than charger and challenger RT’s. Faster than V6 Chargers, challenger and mustangs and older camaro RS’s. But if speeds not ur thing than getting it sideways is easy as pie. For a stock 11 year old bmw with 182K+ miles it’s pretty damn fun but everyone’s got their preferences 🤷🏻♂️
Austin Gutierrez lol
@@austingutierrez2709 you cant beat a v8 challenger 💀 i gap m3s in my r/t lmao
Every owner do not do good maintenance. N54 plataform is not for newbies.
“There’s always something wrong with my car”. Common phrase from N54 owners
Don’t give up. Treat issues as a challenge in life and change your mindset to “Bring it on”! There is always a way. I keep my 335i on Stage1 but it’s exciting to watch your videos!
This is the video everyone has been waiting for!👏🏼
Absolutely love the update and the pace of this. Definitely one of the best vids so far man🤙
She’s a BMW. They kinda are like a problem child. They never want to listen lol. It’s a Labour of love. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Honda Civic or a Ford F-150. We all want our vehicles looking and sounding beautiful. Great video man
Dude you've grown so much since I've first watched you! You're cadence and energy is on a whole other level!
You’ll get there man! It’s been awesome watching this car become a beast👌🏻
Respect to a man not settling for less! I’ve never been happy after any tuning and dyno session. I’m hoping you have better fortunes with your stable’s next set of tunes.
Great videos man. Been looking at a bunch of cars for my next purchase and you really help 335i take the lead
Great to see more progress! Came here when I was shopping for a E90. Ended up going with an S4 but still love following this story
Don't let this get you down, its still an amazing and beautiful car that would smoke any stock F-series M3/M4. I'm sure the issue will be resolved, hope it gets soon, I cant wait to see it at full potential
Keep grinding Fam!! You’ll get their!! 🤙🏽
Love your videos. Keep it up bro!
Keep the spirit up! I'll always be waiting for that moment you push 600 HP on that sweet engine!

Yea me to but sadly he’s giving it away
@@naratouzumaki So another one from us needs to finish this project
The fact that he's 7 grand in and hasn't made it with replaced turbos is hilarious. You can get into the 5s for like $2k on the stock set.
@@AnonyMous-lk7zi It'd be cool to see you do that! Why not start a RUclips channel?
Great episode, I really enjoyed it. Its shows that not everything goes perfectly but in the end it will be worth it! Also- add the vacuum canisters back in and tune. Thats where your smoke is also coming from :)
One of your best quality video's yet
I know it's frustrating state to have for the car, but I can at least say I enjoy the content where issues are transparent. I see plenty of videos showing massive performance improvements through mods..."go do it now" but realistically that's not the cast when you do it yourself. Keep strong mate.
Damn I felt your pain. I don’t even use IG but I log in and follow and liked this video to help ease the pain a lil. Stay positive and continue the videos
Subscribed since your new Rims on the BMW ;)
There is only one thing missing, a nice Radio.
Great vids
Great video ! I hope you can get this issue figured out !!
Most interesting page to subscribe to. I started watching vehicle virals videos when I first was looking in the 335 market, and this page really sold the 335 to me and I went with it. Whenever I’ve had an issue with my 335, he’s always been wonderful with providing different scenarios and giving his best advice. If you ain’t subscribed yet then idk what you’re doing with your life

You got this broski!! Im also a floridian, and seeing all of these places in orlando is such a huge help
Way to get calm down on a day that more than likely started quite exciting!
It was rough!
Imagine going to the dyno to get a tune, just to leave with less powa and less money💀
Juat keep at it, bro. It'll work out. Great music on the edit, by the way.
Decided to try soemthing new. Thanks!

@@VehicleVirals Only slightly.
My friend had the same issue after doing turbos he replace his boost solenoids and still had the same issue turns out there was something wrong with the turbos wastegates. Idk if you tested yours before installing them but could be the same issue
Hi Christian, i have a question, once you flashed xhp on your car and then upgraded the turbos and tuned the car did you do something to the xhp tune or you left it as it was before the tuning?
I mean if xhp needs to adapt to the new power output
Dude I feel your frustration. My Sti keeps breaking and recently did a head gasket job and the car still smoking but not nearly as much as a head gasket problem and the mechanic says that it is doing that because the car still has coolant in the system but for how long is that coolant supposed to be there ?
nice vid bro
Hey that's that Bimmer live. 🤷🏿♂️
I'm hard headed so I'll probably get in that boat also. 😃
People follow you and appreciate you because you stay after it til you accomplish your goal. Don't be too hard on yourself young man.:)
Cmon bro. If you and Master Alee can’t figure this out, what kinda hope does that leave me? You guys got this. BTW, I’ve hit up all my friends and fam to follow your IG when you first announce the possible giveaway. No doubt a few of your almost 9k got my DNA 🤣. I’ll hit up my local Starbucks tomorrow for you.
Vacuum canisters are notorious when removed in heavy braking situations put them back on and see I love a mystery can't wait good luck ASAP
Hang in there playa!
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great video production value and information. Looking forward to watching some of your older videos and whats new to come. Followed on instagram too - looking for that VRSF exhaust for my car ;)
Does he have the N20 TMAP sensor? Did they reset adaptations after the vacuum leak fix? And which base map is he starting with? Are you targeting over 21.5 psi?
good video
@VehicleVirals Did you delete your vacuum canisters? I had thottle closure issues due to slight overboosts since I removed my vacuum canisters. I'm gonna but them back on and I'm pretty sure this will fix the issue.
Yes I deleted them. I'll mention it to the tuner. Appreciate it!
I am experiencing this same problem on my car with MMP1K turbos. Jake from Motiv is tuning my car and it's been giving him the same headache. I also removed my vacuum canisters and didn't even think about that may be causing the problem. I am going to put them back on right now.
@@JimHardee glad I brought that up then if it can help you, can you keep me up to date when you put them back on? I would've done mine today but it rains pretty hard up north..
+1 on that. A buddy of mine had similar issues on his hybrid turbos. Turned out it didn't have enough vacuum to properly control the wastegates, that solved with reintroducing the vacuum canisters, it may be worth giving it a shot!
I feel ya bro....bought my dream car two years ago. Fd rx7. Did the motor and single turbo conversion and all supporting mods. 512hp....lasted 2000km. Best day was when i sold it. Never again
Recently purchased an E93 from a kid who was literally giving it away. It's having issues with boost control, not the same as your issue but my research ended with problems in the vacuum canisters and solenoids, which I see someone else has already mentioned. But yea, hope it solves your issue. Keep being one of the best inspirations on the N54 platform!! You're appreciated bro!
He was giving it away cus there's probably a lot of problems with it. I purchased a 335i with 55k miles for 5k and thought I got a steal turns out the check engine lights and misfires were all deleted. A month later they're all on the dash and I'm looking at anywhere of 3000-4500$fix. Bmw never again
Considering I just went through the whole misfire bullshit on mine. It's no where near $3000 to troubleshoot and diagnose if you know what you are doing. I barely spent $1000. And that was mostly just to go through everything associated for future reference.
@@bilalkadri2797 4K? What in the world is wrong with your car? With that kinda money you could almost rebuild the entire car. If you're doing the repairs yourself.
Sorry about that. The process will get better. Take a breather 👊
I was in West Palm beach and all I could think about was seeing your Beme cruise by lol
Still get a thumbs up in my book brother 👍👍 you’ll achieve it
Great vids mate, enjoy watching your progress.
What are the wheels you have put on it?
They look sweet. 👌

Don't worry I have the same luck you have? How does the convertible handle on corners? Been looking looking buying on maybe.
love your vids man I'm hooked! question I'm on the fence of the 335i e93 or the e92 I love the convertible but wonder is the mod platform just as big as yhe coupe?
E92 for more aftermarket support.
@Vehicle Virals Thanks for the fast reply. Yes, the reason I asked is because I saw that you had exhaust mounting issues in another video due to stabilizer brackets, so I thought maybe some other things would be an issue when modding an E93. Thanks again !
big snail time, blessing in disguise you can afford & can make more content lfg
@EZ SLIDE This ^
When you mentioned that your car was throwing zero codes, I got super jealous. My E92 dash lights up like Christmas.
Lol
At least you get to celebrate everyday.
@@xFlared 😂
look at it this way its almost Christmas anyways
Give it a krabby patty at the krusty krab and hopefully over-boost will be over. Best wishes Cristian and hang in there brother! Love the shirt!
Me: Mannnnnnnnn, I want one of these.
Me at the end of the video: See, this is why I don't want one of these.
Do you have inlets and outlets on your 335 ?
Whats up Cristian, been watching your videos since U had 10k subs, big come up man. If its ok with you, can you post an MHD LOG from your 513hp pull?
If I were to supercharge my car other than the supercharger what parts do you suggest I’d also have to get for Reliability
What kind of diff are you running?
Bmw life my friend!!!
Torque wins races, horsepower wins bragging rights
And both win races plus bragging rights 👍🏻😂
It’s worth taking a look at how your wastegates arms are actuating. When I rebuilt my turbos I didn’t bother measuring when the wastegates opened and closed and it caused a bad overboost issue and even with wgdc adjustments i still got throttle closures. I’d recommend testing those wastegates, and seeing at what mmhg they close up.
Another thing I’d suggest is getting those turbos examined, my ps2’s were a non stop headache. Got them rebuilt 3 times before I gave up and moved to a different brand. The stock twin setup just isn’t meant to be pushed like that. If you’re chasing power I recommend you go single turbo. So many of your headaches will disappear!
Edit: on second thought I still think your issues are tune related. Those graphs looked ugly.
Bro I just fixed that same issue on my car 2 days ago!! Those boost solenoids your guy was looking at do not fail immediately, they fail by over boosting for some reason. I had over boosting for a while and just replaced those boost solenoids. 100% will fix the issue. Easy swap!
If it makes you feel any better my n54 is also having some very mysterious headache inducing problems as well :)
I can’t wait till you get it sorted
I’m still trying to find a good tuner for my 335i in Australia
Check out 0 to 60 fabulous content don’t know if he’s near you but he’s building very quick cars !
Put the vacuum canisters back and the crisis will be averted!
The end.
Jep, it will change how WG works if u remove them because of volume of vacum fallling down alot .
I’ve heard of this being a problem when people remove them
Removing the vacuum canisters can cause over-boosting
This is so true, no matter how much and how good you do your part on converting it, the car decides to be an asshole and act up as if she's actually alive and wants to make her own decisions.
Hey so i don’t know if you have gotten this yet but you’ll need a 3.5 tmap sensor if you haven’t already look into that if you haven’t found the issue
This is the first video I saw of yours. How did your previous tuner make more power? Any throttle closure with that tune? Anyways, it could be your boost solenoids or if you don't have an upgrade tmap sensor. Could be tuner too.
Tmap sensor is upgraded and the previous tuner was also experiencing throttle closure, the difference was that he had more time with the car, so he made more progress.
This can be expected every time you make a high performance modification to a engine!
When your Bimmer is a total bummer. Sorry man, don’t worry I know you’ll get it, I got faith.
Does anyone know of a tuner in pa for a E60 n54
Titan? I saw that place on the news LOL If they crash your car while test driving, you are Liable for it.
At least it sounds AMAZING
Right?!
If you have jb4 is A options PID GAIN OFF. in my 335i this have to be switched to active. After that no overboost problems. I have almost exactly same set up of parts on my e92 like you have
I tune n54s and throttle closures are because of overboost. The torque curve is very ugly, so yeah, throttle closures going on. But if you posted your datalog I could help you. Most tuners don't even touch the PID though, if those tables are wrong, you get oscilations and post spool overboost.
Poor Ali looking for an issue, but the only issue is in the tune. You could literally reduce wgdc base to 0 and have no boost, so you having an overboost with this new tune and not with the old tune is 100% not hardware related.
End of story. Again, post a log and you can get more help.
Well my previous tuner was experiencing throttle closure but since he had more time with the car he was resolving it which is why the tune was producing over 500HP. Aaly told me to tell you to dm him via Instagram @_mr_evolution_
Finally someone who understands !
I think his PID tables need to be tuned for the bigger turbos. It makes sense that the ECU thinks they are stock and so a WGDC X produces Y boost but with bigger turbos X will produce 1.5Y. The ECU sees this as an overboost condition and uses the throttle to regulate it. That’s my theory without seeing logs yet.
@@VehicleVirals Don't you have to adjust the wastegates on ps2 turbos before you install them? Maybe they are setup wrong?
Does your car have an upgraded map sensor? Because the stock sensor can only read up to 22 psi accurately and with upgraded turbos you are going to be way beyond that. If you haven’t upgraded the sensor this might be your problem.
Are you running the stock engine N54 3.0 or you have a bigger displacement?
Stock
Have you tried Dinan Stroker?
Dang!...heartbreaker.

Question? Doesnt it seem exesive to spend that much money on a 335i why not aim for an m3? Or is it the same engine???? Or do you just like that body?
Hard to see someone else living my dream 😪
Lots of love from Dubai!
Don't you guys just throw away BMW's in Dubai?? Haha
@@SavageBunny1 mostly, yeah. When BMWs reach around 200k km mileage, it's usually in the worst condition due to the hot climate so it's scrapped.
11:27 bro i feel your pain my car has been down for months and everytime i feel like am close i end up waiting again
N20 Tmap sensor for more boost and jb4 will help you control wgdc and a lot of other things that MHD can’t control.
When it was at 500+ did it show any bad logs?
I'm pretty sure if I remember correctly there is a wrap on your car what is the name of that color?
Damn, dude, hopefully you will catch a break!
I've learned in the long run I found better to upgrade the car if you want speed !
@Aydinkud i spent a fortune in the past on going fast ... in the end it was cheaper less headache just to literally upgrade the car ... the crappies part is once u do something up and alot of performance reliability go out the window and literally you have to be a mechanic to constantly work on thing ... you also learn how many actual people don't no, nowhere near what they say in the tuning world thats the hardest part ...
Still think it is a great build. Watching the build on the car since 2017, and surely you have done a great job
. I also got me a e93 335 here In South Africa, but itl made me quickly broke. Also had bolts on , with MHD and hybrid turbos, but finding a realistic tuner in SA has been a challenge. If you want to donate one of your custom tuning files which I can use as a baseline file, I will appreciate. Thanks for the videos
Did the tuner alter the torque management maps? its probably the issue... tuner name?
You can also try adjusting wastegate closure vacuum, maybe yours close too much?
Can you post a link to any of the logs? I'd like to compare yours to mine and see if I can help
Edit: we run very similar setups and my car made 598hp and 573torque at all 4 wheels. So maybe I can see what's wrong by comparing to my logs
Titan Motorsports offered me a copy of them but i declined them. Was too damn disappointed 😅
@@VehicleVirals you didn't log any of your dyno pulls with MHD?
My apologies yes, I have the csv files for every run.
@@VehicleVirals would you be able to.link a datazap for the logs?
@@SuperHbkforever I aggree, we could help based on a datalog.
im not sure where you're at religiously but i do believe everything happens for a reason. maybe the people you've met and can help along the way of these problems will make it worth it in the end
This is why single is the way to go!
I guarantee you it’s boost solenoids if you haven’t changed them. I just had the same issue. Changed the solenoids and it solved my problem.
Did change them.
Try to check your map sensors? I had mad 3bar sensor making my throttle shut when there was uneven flow of boost it was some weird situation upgraded to 4bar and the problem went away now having clutch pack slip problems lol
I'll keep that in mind!
