- Imagine tuning your BMW 335i the proper way by taking care of the maintenance first and installing conservative mods, only to find it out can't reach your ideal power results. Well that is what happened to me when I took my car to get dyno tuned! What was supposed to be 2-3 hours ended up being a 6 hour nightmare! In this video I finally address the simple (and annoying) issue that prevented my E93 from being tuned properly.

I know the feeling. I went through 3 tuners with my K24 swap in my RSX. I trusted them but did some research and reviewed my datalogs and something didn't look right. Turns out they was giving too much fuel. Gut feelings should be followed when you have them. Can't wait for the number update.

Good luck with your give away I understand your pain as an owner of a E92 the millions of issues with this generation of BMW. It is like giving all your problems to someone else because there are other brands that do not need the attention that BMW's demand.

The waste gates on these are normally closed if I recall correctly, vac opens them. Remove the vac canister and you don't make enough vac to close the WG all the way. Thought an explanation might help some people
Then you calibrate the wastegate use it for some time, re-tune the engine for more power and guess what your stock wastegate is making rattle noises and your stock turbos are at their limit so your stuck at 434whp and you need 2000$ to get new ones but oh no you cant afford them so you borrow you friends thrown away turbos and now everything goes according to plan, but guess what you need new breaks, wastegate, intakes and because ur braindead a gear tune. Once all that is done you spent 2 months working in your car and expecting great results, you tune the new turbos and get 560whp at this point your proud of your great fu**cking accomplishment thinking everything is fine now,NO ITS NOT DUMBASS a new code appears right after you leave the dyno “ absolute pressure sensor intake” at this point you have no money, no idea what the code means and tired :)

You got me with that thumbnail! I was about to go order replacement vacuum canisters ... I deleted mine tracking down a boost leak the past Spring. Glad the tuner got you fixed up!
I would still get them. Tuner told me they are more important than people think. Lots of misinformation out there.

I’ve had a rough patch with a known big tuner on my 335i as well. I flashed back my old tune and did a log and sent it to him and he was still in denial. Sheesh. Anyways David is originally who tuned my car! His tune rocked!

@@JACKOFALLFATES im making 600whp with a similar setup, only difference is im running PI and dual 450's, which you would also need with a single setup . He's running out of fuel, has nothing to do with turbos, its apparent you don't know shit about this platform
Same thing with my car too, I was experiencing over shooting of boost caused the throttle to close, the tuner company insisted it was a mechanical problem with my car, I tried 4 different 5 star mechanics and all of them said that they can't find anything that was wrong mechanically with the car, again the tuner was so egotistical they said it's 100% not their tune and it's the car...after 4 months I got en email with a new tune from them saying to try it and behold i was making power and no throttle closure...BTW the tuner im talking about is ktuner

Immean my 335 is making 500 wheel and i noticed your car lost its ass in 3rd. It was on a rainy road. Mine spins second on a dry road but only when its wet it loses 3rd. That was probobly why, not a massive power gain but honestly it could be both, just a thought 👍

Did PSI install your new turbos? I took my 335i there about a year ago, they installed some pure turbos I got. Told me my DVs were making a whining sound when I got it back. Changed to BOV and found out the whine was a bad install on the front turbo. Been dripping oil ever since with bad smoke when down shifting.

when i did upgraded turbos and downpipes inlets outlets fmic injectors etc changed out the boost solenoid valves and had 3100 code...finally found issue with deteriorated vacuum line lol

I saw that too , especially when traction was loss in better conditions.
Exactly, that's a over reaction to "power gains" let's see what it pulls like on dry roads. A 125 whp miata can break traction on a wet road..
@@kuraryuX my car goes straight on a wet road, i have an AWD 6 speed Audi A4 B6 1.8t with a big ass SINGLE billet wheel RS6 63mm. i barely spin. at 26 psi. unless its ice, cold weather. then i spin, and still go straight. Lol

@@kuraryuX doubt it, the engine response and the way it wound up was significantly quicker than previous tunes, and as Christian said boost fluctuations gone, so it must be much more consistent.

WOW it sounds like my 325i, I checked all the vacuum still the same problem. They hooked up the scanner and it said that the throttle body would lose connection at half open..🤔 hummmm interesting, so I bought a new one and installed it. It worse, now it doesn't respond, just turns on sounds like it has a cam but don't move.. Some mechanic said I can program the throttle, I said, and that will work? He said yes. Throttle body is program "supposedly".. the car is still having the same problem... Any idea what it can be?

The reason you must have a tune by someone who understands the n54 is your favorite curve was trash, all over the place and what's called loose settings. You want to limit it to about 25%. The ff is basically how much the car can scale by itself and some other things and you really don't want that. Tighten up the ff will make wgdc tighter or do what you want. My custom wgd for my custom 1k turbos took me 3 times and it was stock perfect.

I’m having the exact same problem. Upgraded everything on my car am not my car is acting like a have a boost leak or something with a shadow 30ff code. Did a smoke test myself nothing. So I said f it. Took it to a shop to get tested they said they couldn’t find any leaks at all an that i could hold up to 30 psi fine. But I’m not hitting my target boost on my base map. So that was my next thing trying a different tuner.
