    Lots of growers use CO2 burners to up the CO2 levels in their grow. It's a lot cheaper than filling up tanks of CO2.
    But if you don't know about what we talk about in this video, there's a good chance you're poisoning your grow.

    Before the laws saying they had to put that bad smell in natural gas around 1970 by dad's oldest brother came home from church with my aunt and three of their teenage daughters after they all got in the house and were getting settled in he lit his pipe and the whole house exploded blew the windows and doors out into the street and part of the roof off of a two story brick house my cousins all died that day my uncle and aunt the next day it was the first time I ever saw my dad cry. The next yr they past laws in this states Capitol city that the gas companies had to put that rotten egg smell in natural gas .they had a leak in the water heater gas is nothing to mess around with in the wrong hands . stay safe my friends .

    So my first run with a CO2 burner I had a complete sealed environment and a 40-foot reefer and burned up all the oxygen and killed all the plants the CO2 burner doesn't burn right without oxygen you need ventilation periodically to replenish the oxygen for a CO2 burner that's meant for a greenhouse

      O2 is required for combustion to occur. No O2, no combustion.
      Low O2 means you were burning ‘rich’. That’s when CO becomes a problem. (Don’t confuse CO with CO2)

    Hey Scotty, I can’t help but point this out you said you put CO2 in your room and then you went back two days later….. now you know is a grower. You can’t do that or teach people to do that. I respect how you get down, but that was a huge mistake on your part bro I’ve been running co2burners for years and you know as well as I do that you have to control your environment with all that heat being expelled from it and so on and so forth. So to walk away for two days was very bad. I have a hard time with that. I’m in my room twice a day watering bro so it’s just something I wanted to point out. I can’t wait to show you my grow one day I think you’re gonna like it.😎

    Great video like always, In my 4' X 4' tent I use a baking soda and vinegar drip system. Slowly drip vinegar into the baking soda. Works great, produces a lot of CO2, no heat issues. To filter out the beautiful fragrance ( at least that is what I think) I use a charcoal air scrubber. Good to know that it will help with the acidic environment. I could never leave a room knowing that there is something burning in there un-attended. My world is all electric.

      1lb of Sugar
      Few drops of Dish Liquid.
      8-10 tbsp of Yeast.
      Enough hot water to stir and dissolve.
      Fill rest with cool water, stir, add yeast while it's spinning.
      One 5gal lasts approx 3-4wks. Provided extra bicarb soda is added during last week's. Increased ppm of approx 200-300avg.
      Normal ambient environment ppm = 400avg

    I have a 12x14 room with an 8 burner CO2 gen in it. Its hooked to a ppm monitor for control. Now you might say that a big burner for that size but the idea was to flood the room fast and run the burner less. PPM set to 1200 with a 300ppm deadband. Running LEDS and stuff looks great. Zero issues. I run the burner off to the side and use an oscillating fan to push the CO2 into the plants and have the sensor at slightly lower than canopy height since stomata are on the underside of the leaves.
    I dont scrub using carbon (I have a corona discharge unit for smell) and havent had any issues.

    • @freedom_born
      @freedom_born 3 месяца назад

      Probably not enough to make any difference... or assist the heat.
      Regular outside ppm is avg 400. A single 2L bottle with half lb sugar and a tspn yeast, wouldn't pump anything more than 30-50ppm/min. Not enough to make a difference.

    • @freedom_born
      @freedom_born 3 месяца назад

      Also. It doesn't matter what type of water. Unless you plan on consuming the ferment. Distilled, or tap. Both do the same thing. There's not enough chlorine in tap water to produce acidic gas.
      Another thing, ifl your light isn't pushing more than 1100 ppf, then you don't need it. If it is, then you need to at least match the ppf. Ex: 1,100 ppf = 1,000 ppm of CO2 (avg).
      That's like 50 2L bottles needed.

    I have used a propane catalytic heater in my veg room for heat in the winter, and it had a noticeable negative effect on the plants. I had to stop using it. That was back in the 'prohibition days' here in Canada. I wouldn't liken it to "acid rain" though. Here's why: My natural gas furnace exhaust makes the rotten egg smell from the mercaptan in my yard when it's on. This tells me the mercaptan is basically unchanged by the combustion in the furnace. I'm not saying it's not bad, I'm just saying it's not sulfur dioxide.
    Sulfur dioxide has a completely different smell. It's a sharp, sour smell, not at all like rotten eggs. Sulfur 'burners' are used in greenhouses to combat powdery mildew. They don't really burn the sulfur, they vaporize it. Some of it oxidizes to sulfur dioxide. There's a small amount of sulfur deposited in the leaves, which lowers the pH and makes the surface inhospitable to powdery mildew. The sulfur dioxide dissolves in water to become sulfurous acid, which then oxidizes to become sulfuric acid (acid rain). I mention all this because I used a sulfur 'burner' to solve a persistent mildew problem in my veg room and flower room. Lesson learned!!! It ruined the taste of the flower, but it also damaged the vegging plants. The tell-tale sign of the sulfur damage was the burning and browning at the bases of the leaflets. It was especially noticeable on the youngest plants. Also, it's worth noting that acidic fumes from sulfur are very corrosive to delicate electronics. My Spider Farmer LED lights have a NO SULFUR symbol on them.
    Hopefully what I wrote will be taken in the spirit it was offered, which is simply sharing of experiences. This video is the first time I've seen anybody mention the negative effects on plants by using a propane burner in a grow room. Thanks! There were LOTS of warnings about not using sulfur itself- but I didn't listen.

    How about a side by side grow...one with co2 and one with no co2...lets see if co2 really makes that big of a difference......
    I will pick quality over fat colas...my colas are not small..
    Dont use co2 and have never ph my fertilizer...
    My first plant was 1992...love cannabis cause i have glaucoma.foound out at age 23..i am a lot older now...cannabis isnt really hard to grow..just be patient and dont over water..have a few fans in..if u can pull air from outside do it..and if u cant pull in fresh air..make sure your air is getting ventilated some how..humidity will build up and issues will come...
    And always payattention to the leaves of the plant.the leaves will speak for plants health....
    Hope u outdoor growers are preparing for summer grow..and if u put your planta outside early they may start to flower...u dont want that to happen..so u use a secondary light outside to trick the plant to stay in veg...i get 15and a half hours of daylight..i didnt put my plants out until first week of july..i prep my plants tho with early topping and bending..by the time my plants go outside they are 12 inches short and bushy....if u want monster plants veg for a few months. And put out side already 3 feet tall and bushy...
    Grow female strains...u can clone.u can interduce flower time by blacking plants out to start 12n12 outdoor....
    Dont get caust up in the science of cannabis...yes its great to talk on but confusing for newbies....
    And last thing watch bonsai videos.....

      The amount of CO2 distributed in forests is predominantly caught by the uppermost foliage, like the canopy.
      Ground based CO2 is tied up in mulch and decaying matter. Which becomes a carbon sequesterer. It doesn't provide as much CO2 to plant roots, as foliage pulling from the air (nitrogen fixation).

    You wouldn't need co2 if you grow in organic soil in bigger pots than you really need and keep fresh air circulating. If you need Co2 you may have other issues you may want to address first. Even when using Co2 your not guaranteed a better run. I know what im saying is arguable but thats why I say there's as many ways to grow as there is growers which is also arguable lol😊

    • @loopmantra8314
      @loopmantra8314 3 месяца назад

      Nope, what you are saying is not "arguable". It's simply WRONG.
      Plants take carbon from air and bind it to hydrogen from water to create sugars (carbohydrates)
      Occasionally they will take oxygen instead which literally leads to explosive reactions. Putting more CO2 actually eases the entire process, which is chemical and has nothing to do with organic nutrition or size of the pots, though bigger plants are less susceptible to these changes

    • @ericaman5393
      @ericaman5393 3 месяца назад +1

      Incorrect. Plants use carbon. That is why they use atmospheric CO2 to strip the carbon and transfer it into other molecules used in plant metabolism. Once your light PPFD is high enough, CO2 is the limiting factor in growth. (Nutrients and genetics also play a role)
