I wish this chart was more specific to cannabis Because this say a ph of 7 is best. Only missing out on a little iron. at a Ph of 7 🤔 but they say cannabis should be grown between 5.5-6.5 🤔
Dr. Bugbee suggests 6.5. in his trials he saw some manganese issues with the lower pH ranges typically used in cannabis. The manganese deficiency is typically misdiagnosed. Average Joe just keeps throwing more fertilizer but having that 6.5 pH eliminates that late flower deficiency that's common.
Absolutely not. Lemon juice is citric ACID. It lowers pH but is also a weak acid and can break down faster allowing pH to rise over time more so than say phos acid or sulphuric acid would because theyre stronger acids.
Hahaha me too...I've grown some real dankydank using vinegar and baking soda. The PH+/- is a bit easier though. Usually, I'm going down from a basic tap water. Also, another weird thing I use to do was flush with rainwater. Now I don't think there's a major difference, but I think the rainwater is a better choice than a lot of tap water out there.
Yeah, but baking soda murkies up the water and clogs automatic watering systems. Somehow I'm convinced that the baking powder is good to use with coco as I believe it aids in nutrient buildup.
In soil when using beneficial microbes we also want to keep pH in a good range for them to flourish. But as Scotty said, microbial life will also "self regulate" soil PH with secretions. Also, compost teas can be bacterial or fungal dominant and those 2 groups can affect PH in different directions (up or down). Most people recommend bacterial teas for veg and fungal for flower.

@@Fancytater22 great idea. Available in Canada?
They dont need to "know" - You can (depending on your nutrient line) run the same recipe full grow. In flower obviously more Potassium is used to create fruits and flowers. And a lot of people will use more Phosphorous in week 1/2 of flower to boost transition and lower Nitrogen because nitrogen (NO3 nitrate form) uses a lot of energy in the plant which we want put more into preflowering.
@@ericaman5393 it's a valid question. Like how does soap know what dirt is ? 🤔
they are two formulas mixed together one just has more of the time release coating so it will kick in a a later time.
Swear I saw you had an up coming video on grow hacks. Was gonna share the two dozen reasons I came up with why I got spider mites.
Just fed my ladies...7 autos 2 photos with recharge and I love when they react ...it's like they say thank you!!
Lots of great info.
I like to start my ph around 5.6 and usually rises up to around 6.2 over a week in a 600l tank in a recirculating system using hydroton. Using coco i like to ph around 6 and no higher than 6.2
sounds about right. i think the rise in your PH? at first its not bonding to every water molecule at first. and over that time it does. .i use a smaller tank and over nite i see it rise. .whats your tds if you dont mind?
@@four20producerz77 in veg i like to sit around 1.4-1.6 ec and in flower 1.6-2.2 ec. Only leech in last few days with hydroton, in coco i feed plain tap water every 2 weeks and back nutrients down to 1.6 in week 6 and 1.4 in week 7 and then flush for 5 days straight. Use 8 liter fabric pots with coco mix( about 10%ratio hydroton) and throw about 10cm depth of hydroton at bottom of pots.
Flower room I run a dutch pot( first system run over 30 years ago) with a top feed recirculating system with hydroton. Used to do flood and drain but moved back to this old school system for its simplicity. Though I'm about to run a little 4x4 tent setup for some concentrates and leave my 14x14ft space for my christmas trees, Veg/clone and mother room have 4x8 flood and drain table for new cuttings, mums are in 30 liter pots with coco/hydroton and clones in homemade 200 site cloner.

Man you actually explain shit so everyone can understand....thanks
Solid. Great job!
I spent the first year of growing pulling my hair out because I was using advanced nutrients ph perfect for soil that always came out at 5.8,the only way I solved it was to stop using them😂
Ty Scotty I gald for the help

Can you use mychros in coco
Yes
Any experience with Ozone? Was some chatter 20 some years ago amongst connoisseur growers.. Easily generated with a chinese neon transformer as the basis. Would this be for Leaves or Roots? Comments?

A drop of lemon brings your pH down and its cheap a bottle of lemon juice cost's about 2 to 3 dollars big saving
Should I ph before I mix in my jr crop tech dry nutrients? Or after I have everything mixed together ? (Using a 5gal bucket)
After. Your nutrients are going to affect pH and PPM as you mix them in.
@@ericaman5393 thank you bro 💪🏼💪🏼💯 on my third grow still trying to figure it what EC to feed at jr crop tech has a feed chart but my girls are still having problem
I only Ph my water.
No nutrients or nothing ? I use the jr crop tech dry nutrients even with me having some problems the buds smell delicious
@@Tukwilakidd i only ph the water, nutrients are designed (unless noted) for water at a Ph of 5.9-6.9. I use dry amendments now.
N-P-K ratios. I grow in soil with organic amendments from "Down To Earth". In your opinion, what should the ratio be per gallon of soil? 10-10-10??
You should be adding an all purpose 4-4-4 and also a bloom builder when you mix your new soil. In flower you should top dress with more Bloom builder. You shouldn't have any ph issues at all with Down to Earth. I've used it along with Gaia Green bloom for over 20 years
i have been reading and watching alot of shows and i cant remember but someone said anywhere from 5 to 9 will work this to me is crazy to go as low as 5 but i dont ph my water for outside and its around 7.8 and i have no problems mybe my soil fixxes it i do not know for sure but this is what i have heard 5-9ph will work but dont trust me on that cause i ph soilless for my inside grows to 6.5 and its working great
Sounds like Welcome To The Grow tent. GT preaches 5-7 so that’s probably what you saw. His method is intended to be a starting point to get a successful first grow. That’s what I did at first but eventually figured out that I had to refine the process.
You shouldn't have to worry about pH at all with organic growing. Unless you're water is ridiculously acidic or alkaline. I've been growing for over 30 years and I've NEVER had a pH issue ever.
It's a non issue for everyone I know who grows commercially too. Unless it's a hydroponic grow,pH shouldn't even be a concern
@@daddy1571 I know but I always check to make sure that my reverse osmosis filters are still good. I always check PH and PPM to determine when I need to feed them. My routine works and I’m not looking to change anything because I’m getting great results.
I think when a guy in his seventies figures out how to grow successfully by watching videos and taking notes I deserve a medal. Young growers don’t appreciate my accomplishments but I enjoy the fruits of my success every night. Mission accomplished and I did it my way.
@@daddy1571 ya i dont know if i should ph down with mine going to almost 9 at times i use soilless inside atm till i can get fully organic there also takes time to build my soils to what i like outside garden 3 years of full organics nothing else and its great soil now
Can u get Recharge n Growdots in the fort?
The Fort? Are you in Fort Collins?
Live in loveland.
I want to use ext. release dots in the ground outside at the fringes of my organic beds for the summer grow. I cant find any recomendations for this type of application. Tips?
Ok so with grow dots if your timelines don't match up do you just add more? Can you create a living soil and add grow dots to supplement nutrients In soil?
Grow dots are a one application full cycle nutrient, if you add more it will start the veg nutrients over again. They are are salt based so would not do well in living soil, you can use them will soil but will need to lower the dose of grow Dots you use.
My soil ph always 7.5 even when I watering my plants ph level 5.8 and 6.2 it's coco maybe anyone has idea why? Or it's normal 7.5 ? Thanks
50 bottles of nutrients 😂😂😂 ..no just playing ..love the charts . Good show
Thanks for listening
Are the grow dots able to be used in coco as well?
Yes they work well in coco as long as you don't let the coco dry out.
@@ScottyReal420 thanks much appreciated!

This posted twice, sir. Make it a great day!
I did!
PH is so important, in late flower i gave my with 6,2 instead of 6,5, i got big issues within 2 Weeks.
Wat about coco?
this applies to coco.
Lemon concentrate will work for a ph up
Rarely going to need an up. 90percent of time you’ll need a down.
Absolutely not. Lemon juice is citric ACID. It lowers pH but is also a weak acid and can break down faster allowing pH to rise over time more so than say phos acid or sulphuric acid would because theyre stronger acids.
i think they must pH my water at the treatment plant because its like 6,5 out of the tap
That's sweet, I wish we all got had that levels out the tap.
@@ScottyReal420 i pay for it in the fact its hard water and tastes nasty to me but my ladies seem to love it
I just use powders
I dislike mixing liquids. Top dressing for me.
I don’t even waste my money on ph stuff… ph down I use Apple cider vinegar and ph up I use baking soda
sounds expensive AF. 1 gallon of ph up/down is $30 and you use like 1ml for like 5 gallons.
@@everennui1 it’s literally a drop of vinegar to make the ph go down. And a tiny little pinch of baking soda to go up
@@LED4all my tap water here in central Cali is 54 steadily… it’s been great over the years
Yeah, but baking soda murkies up the water and clogs automatic watering systems. Somehow I'm convinced that the baking powder is good to use with coco as I believe it aids in nutrient buildup.

5.5 - 8 should be valid according to the chart
In soil when using beneficial microbes we also want to keep pH in a good range for them to flourish. But as Scotty said, microbial life will also "self regulate" soil PH with secretions. Also, compost teas can be bacterial or fungal dominant and those 2 groups can affect PH in different directions (up or down). Most people recommend bacterial teas for veg and fungal for flower.
@@ericaman5393
I've been growing for over 30 years and I've yet to see any ph change from any compost tea, worm castings,or organic fertilizer. I'm not sure why people are so hyper focused on things that are a non issue, but fail to grasp the importance of more pressing factors like feeding and watering properly.
