Windows 8 / 8.1 - Reset Forgotten Password Including Administrator [Tutorial]

This tutorial covers how to reset a forgotten Windows 8 or WIndows 8.1 password without using a third party password reset utility. For this tutorial you do need to have the copy of Windows 8 on the DVD or the USB Flash drive that came with your computer, or that your purchased to upgrade to WIndows 8. This will only work on local computer accounts. If you are using a Microsoft Account, this will not work, and you will need to reset it online. A Microsoft Account is linked to an email address such as Outlook.com.

@@sonyalee5081you just reset the password for that standard account using the same procedure as shown in the video. Otherwise, you can enable the built-in Administrator account as he demonstrated or just create a new user account via Command Prompt.

your tutorial is great and very easy explained i did everything step by step, as soon as i got to the command prompt it asked me for the user account password, unfortunately i don't know the password so i could not do anything, my only option was to restore the image at factory setting for windows 8.

Great video, like many other similar guides I have been through. CMD tells me Administrator's password change was successful, and I've activated the Administrator account, but still the password does NOT take effect... help please ? thanks in advance :-)

What if I don't have a windows on the dvd or usb? but my windows is original what will happen? Also I forgot my password on my admin acc and is using the alternative account which is under family safety so i can't install apps like a password reset stuff. I also can't do the recovery thing on the pc settings because all that is shown there is advanced startup and nothing else, so I basically can't do anything with this acc.

i removed usb, closed and restarted my pc
but my cmd didnt open when i clicked on Ease of access
so i need help...
