This is actually a big problem when you cannot open your computer.
You are trying to remember your password, but it doesn't work. You can reset your password and come up with a new one, but you haven't created a dedicated password reset flash drive.

Thank you so much for making this video! It helped and I was able to get into my old computer! My username is two words, so after I clicked enter, then saw different text than the screen, I freaked out a little, and got even more of a scare immediately following that, at 6:19 in the video when it said "this could be a problem". For anyone that happens to be in the same boat as me and happens to see different text at that step because of your username being two words or more instead of one, take it from me, there is no need to worry. Even though that different text may look scary to someone who doesn't know any better, it basically only means that the system saw syntax errors in the way you inputted it, aka what you inputted was something that the system didn't recognize, and the bottom line that pops up is the same thing as the one you inputted into before hitting enter in the previous step. Just follow the steps in the video about the two-name usernames and type it on the new line that has popped up and you will be just fine. Hopefully this is able to help someone who is experiencing the same issue I had. Thanks again to ipMalik for the video!

Success! When I booted the USB the mouse didn't function. I had to use keyboard shortcuts which was awkward at first. Still managed to get through all of the steps and am back in the admin account. Thank you!

So after following all the steps to the letter, upon restart my laptop just restarts in an endless loop at the 'acer' words and a circle rotating at the bottom before redoing it over again? :(
If your PC starts to reboot constantly after all the steps, sometimes it happens when you make a mistake in one of the steps.
Now do the following:
Force shutdown the PC and after a minute turn it on again, if the problem persists,
open a command prompt and again go all the way from the beginning.
The only thing - on one of the steps, do it differently, when you open "Setup Tupe", instead of 0, put 1, but not 2, this should solve the problem.

I get the same problem. It keeps looping over and over on the Lenovo the screen. It only gives me about two seconds to enter net user. And then loops again. I’ve tried 2, 0, and 1 in Setup type. @ipMalik

It looks like your PC is running a Microsoft account.
Do you know what account you have -
local or Microsoft?
It is important.
The fact is that the Microsoft account password is stored on the Microsoft website and is constantly synchronized with the PC, and therefore it is possible to reset such a password on the PC only with the help of special programs.
Try to do the following:
log in to your outlook profile on the Microsoft website on your phone or from another PC and while logging in, click "Forgot your password" or "Sign in options" and then follow the system recommendations.
After you change the forgotten password, you need to turn on the locked PC and enter a new password, the PC must be connected to the Internet:

Didn’t work for me got right to the password part then comes up with system error 8646 has occurred the system is not authoritative for the specified account and therefore cannot complete the operation. Please retry the operation using the provider associated with this account ! Thought this would have cracked it and back to square one ! Lol
There is one reason for this: your Windows uses a Microsoft account, but the method in my video is only for a local account.

1) my administrator account was not showing it only showing lenovo but I entered it after closing cmd i was log into guest user but then i sing out of it and clicked on administrator user and it didn't asked for password .

I did not find it clear. There was no reboot button to press repeatedly. It just keeps booting to regular windows which has locked me out.

thankyou thankyou really thought I was going to have to reinstall windows losing a large gaming rigs content in the progress, had temporarily switched to a local account which had no password just a pin log-in, many other sources saying only option re-install windows, once I had made a bootable USB with media creation tool it took me as long as watching your instructions to fix get back in and revert to my Microsoft account login which I use a pin login for but also has a password I know, you are a life saver sir, I'm subscribing and here's a big thumbs up 😂😂
