I think Theodore is my favorite, can’t believe he made me cry over a button 😭😭❤️❤️ I loved this book so much I already pre ordered his next book!
What is his next book? I would really love to read more of his work!
@@whoizzat he has one coming out later this year called Under The Whispering Door!
My personal favs would have to be either Talia or Chauncey, I love Talia's sense of humor
While you were reading those quotes, I was practically squealing. MY HEART!! Legitimately one of my favourite books in the entire world.
IT IS SO CUUUUUTE!!!! 😄😊
You expressed all the feels I have for this book. Seriously one of my favorite books ever. Sigh... I think it's time for a reread.
I fully support a re-read! :D
I loved this book so much 🥰 I listened to it on audio and sobbed my way through, but I want to get a physical copy to reread and tab it up.
This is one of my favorite books ever, hands down. It’s sooo good! It gave me all the feels and I am just so happy that I read and loved it. I had always liked TJ Klune but now he is definitely a favorite as well. 💜💜
Yaaayyyy!!! I love seeing how many people LOVE this book!
Those quotes are the most precious thing ever!
Aren't they?!
Those quotes are too precious! I'm so looking forward to picking this one up. It seems like the perfect book to read this year. So glad you loved it!
Yaaayyy I hope you love it too!!!!
absolutely love this book too. Great review. Love the quotes you picked. Especially the one about his socks. Chauncy is my fav too !!! He’s so endearing.
All of those quotes you listed DEFINITELY hit SO well while reading. Klune has such a way.
My mother in law who works in a Library left this on our coffee table for me and I honestly didn't want to put it down. Now I need to contact her and ask if she needs the book back or if I can shelve it. Definitely need to keep one in my collection(which is sadly lacking due to not having much time to devote to reading--something I want to change) TJ Klune is now on my list of authors to check out further.
Another note for my own experience is that as an artist, I was envisioning what a graphic novel telling of it would look like while reading. Low key want to illustrate scenes cause it would make great visual storytelling with Klune's writing style!
Omg a graphic novel of this would be a DELIGHT
I wrote to TJ Klune, and he wrote back a really nice message to me!
Oh wow that’s so nice!
You are an excellent reader out louder. 😆 lovely video. Now I can’t wait to continue with the story. ♥️🍂
Aww well thanks! 😄
That was a great review Jashana! I have heard only good things about this book and your emotions in this video confirms everything people have been saying... Will be picking this up very soon!
Eeek I hope you love it... !!!
Wow I just realized there were so many typos in my previous message so I fixed that lol - I’m sure I will 😊
Just finished it last night. Don’t we all wish we’re there? Such a lovely book!! A new fave ♥️
SO wish we were there!! 💜 Glad you loved it!!!
Your intro killed me! This book is incredible - my favorite character is Chauncey or Talia!
haha I like to leave some of the chaos in every now & then 😆
Chauncey is just TOO PRECIOUS
Mine too & Lucy
Chauncey for sure!!
I think Extremely Upper Management is so clever. 😆
The novel sounds very creative. You give the book justice.
was really fun reliving this book through your gushy book chat!
😄🙌 I really just had no coherent, helpful thoughts! Haha 😆💜
I finished the audiobook this morning, I sobbed my heart out! And now listening to you talking about it is making me tear up again. Precious is the words. The adults were tender, but for me it was the kids. They were so like actual kids, they had the child like innocence, but also of the certain “knowing” that children have, and also their understanding of themselves and each other. I loved every single one of them, Sal broke my heart, Theo was so sweet and Lucy was a loving ‘terror’. They were just so lovable, and I did laugh out loud a fair few times. Am totally in love with this book and might have to get myself a paper copy.
Oh yay so glad you enjoyed it! 🙌🥳
I can't wait to read this in November!
Eeeeek I can’t wait for you to do so either!!! Haha
I’m reading this book now and I have to say I NEVER have felt so much for characters, honestly, I never feel like I’m connect with characters in any book this is really my first time but OMG. I NEVER want this book to end. Is there another coming out I hope ?!?!
It’s a standalone for now BUT Klune has another quite whimsical sounding adult contemporary fantasy coming out this fall! Under the Whispering Door. 🙌
@@JashanaC oh thank you for sharing. Oh so can not wait for that, I hope all his books touch me so as this One, but I do hate crying but I can tell it’s coming 😢 again thank you sharing the Book title and release time
I love how I have saved the same quotes and parts as you
I absolutely adored this book♥️. With rare exception, I'm not a fan of the fantasy genre, but a coworker recomnended it so i gave it a shot. I have since enjoyed more of Klune's work.
Oh yay so glad you tried it out & loved it! It's just the most precious book. I didn't really care for Under the Whispering Door, but I want to try out his earlier works -- the Wolfsong series. I've heard good things!
@@JashanaC I thought Under the Whispering Door was pretty good. I didn't enjoy Wolfsong at all. It's very dark compared to Cerulean, has less likable characters, and one of the central relationships was morally very questionable.
@deeanna8448 hmmmm yeah might not be for me! I just couldn’t get behind the main character of Whispering Door. I still enjoyed the whimsical heart-warming vibes for SURE 🙌
Someone I know dressed up as Chauncey for Halloween!
So cute!!!
I was feeling exactly the same and am still so in love with the story, the Kids, the adults. When I finished it I had like two days of feeling very sad because I wanted to go back to the story immediately. It might be my favourite book of all times.
it's truly one of the most wholesome, sweet stories I've ever read!
Why you makin’ me tear up for no reason. Why.
I need this to be a movie so I can make my loved ones watch it!
🥰 adored this book🥰 that ending had me😭
TOO MANY FEELS!
I, too, would like to live in this book. It's so beautiful and I would just love to live on that island
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so choked up, so frequently, while reading a book. My freaking heart couldn’t handle it...!
Definitely wish we could go live on that island 😭
I listened to the audiobook and it took me quite a while to get interested, but by the end I loved it. I hope people don’t give up on it too early. It’s a slow, cozy book.
Loved this one. Wonderful in so many ways. Also recommend Under the Whispering Door.
Isn’t it so good?!
I didn’t love Under the Whispering Door so much 😫
@@JashanaC I understand that. I liked the book more than I disliked it and I'm glad I read it, but I fully get why people might end up disliking it. tbh, personally I did find some of the characters to be a bit... much (I guess "extra" is the current English term :p)? Like, they would irritate me when I think they were just meant to be written as funny or w/e.
Oh well, still glad I read the book. Had some interesting ideas and I like that it dealt with some serious topics like panic attacks and grief.
(Still much preferred Cerulean Sea ofc ;))
Okay so I create each character in my head as the book fills out the details, like most others of course. But as I was reading I kept on thinking of "Paul Blart" when any detail about Linus was given
hahahaha omg love that
Suntup Press may possibly do a very expensive limited edition soon!
Brb, need to go read this.
YES YOU DO!!!!! Omg I think you will ADORE IT!!!!
Love this book and love this video !!!
This was on my summer reading list but I didn’t get to it 😩 it’s jumping up my TBR now though. Also idk why but this reminds me of a really cute and fun board game called CV.
Yaaaayyyy I hope you love it...!
dude i just finished that book today and i am not far away from rereading it right now
I fully support an immediate re-read!! Isn’t it just SO wholesome & precious?!
I freakin love this book one of my favorites
Yaaayyyy!!!
It's such a good book!!!
❤️

Vincent L.
I live in Phoenix Arizona too ! 😃
Oh nice!! 🥳🙌
i could not get through this book i got bored 😭😭
Aww dang bummer!!
I’m 20% in and keep picking up other books instead of finishing. 🤦🏻♀️
hea booktubes I will say that while I was enjoying it straight away, I wasn’t REALLY hooked until probably like 40% in or so
Jashana that is good to know. It’s definitely already enjoyable.
anyone else having or had a really hard time getting into this book??
Not me - haha
You must have taste. I’m reading it to help my son with his English. It’s terrible.
I am raising a red flag on this one. This book is rather controversial, to say the least. Klunes source material for this book was Canada's Sixties Scoop. Considering the history of Canada residential boarding schools and the latest news (the remains of 215 unidentified indigenous children have been found at a former residential school), this should not be praised without proper education on how this book came together. This author is exploiting indigenous trauma for profit.
I did just see this come up on Twitter recently. Completely understandable if this information (about where his inspiration came from) is hurtful to people, especially First Nations Canadians.
I feel a bit differently about the need to research how every single book that we read came together - this book's content didn't seem to alert anyone of the inspiration since I have not seen anyone talk about the representation, until they've seen that interview or podcast where he talked about it. So I don't think the book's content has "problematic representation" necessarily (as I've seen some state), since nobody realized it was representation for residential schools at all until he said so - if that makes sense? It wasn't such overt representation in the book that anybody put two and two together from just reading the book, basically.
I absolutely think it's worth noting/alerting people now that the information is available, because as I said before I can completely understand how knowing the inspiration can be harmful to some. That way they can decide for themselves if they want to read the book at all or support the author.
Ohh noo your hair 😂
It was doing its own thing 🤣🤷🏻♀️
@@JashanaC lol could have been a ghost lol [jk]
