Dear Maxim Alexandrovich! 10 years ago when I listen this concert in Avery Fisher Hall in New York, right during perfomanse I wrote a poem (during second part) and on my back way home in bus and train I finished it. I have a book with my poem dedecated to Dmitriy Dmitrievich Shostokovich with poem called "Legends of the Immortals' Weapons" where I write about Leningrad Symphony story: how it was composed and performd include Arturo Toskaninin performing in New York and perform August 9, 1942 in Leningrad. I work on this poem since 2009 to 2014 and dreaming to translate in English but my English level was not high for such works. Since 2023 I started do do this with ChatGPT and translate Poeme and some short poemse like I mention now. Yesterday when I finished translate Poem writting during performing of this Concerto I decided to Listen It again and Find Your Performance. When I finished Listen it - I finished second poem inspire by The same concerto (but inspierd by third movement). Thank You very much. I let myself share new poem in translation to English. Sincerelly Mikhail. ON THE MORNING FOLLOWING THE DELUGE Cadenza Attacca After the flood, ground's slowly drying, and birds on the branches. Watch as the water recedes, awaiting the dawn to appear. Dear Mikhail, Your poem is so beautiful!!!❤❤❤ Sometime I pray that you find a human to translate your poem into proper English! I have an idea that it is far more beautiful that a mere computer program can do your poem justice to!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ God Bless!

I find it so magical that he rarely ever opens his eyes. He’s fully immersed into the music feeling every bit of it. Pretty much unconscious with just his mind driving every single movement in regards to the music. He doesn’t need to see what he’s doing, he just plays so organically and perfectly that he knows the music will be as pristine and meaningful as it can be if he just plays it without the brain making decisions, he’s just playing the music as the music is.
As my own country is slipping inexorably into absolute dictatorship I’m finding a lot of solace in Shostakovich’s work and maestro Vengerov’s interpretation. Trying to understand Shostakovich’s language to feel his desperation, anger as well as his courage and determination to defend what we hold dear against tyranny.
This concert was written right after take down of Shostakovich by Zhdanov in 1948 . Both his and Prokofiev's music was claimed to be pessimistic, formalistic and unfit the spirit of Soviet people. The final movement is kinda la danse macabre , that makes you run away from all the absurd you had to get through.
I am 100% with you (assuming you are not talking about Russia which I love) but not the Soviet Russia , lived in communist system 25 years, came to this country (US) for freedom and now it's under dictatorship worse than what I experience before. Lets hope soon freedom will return before it's too late. I love Shostakovich and know all about his fight against tyranny with his music and his fear, long live FREEDOM
I'm not in a dictatorship, but I find this music more universal than the circumstances in which it was written. Shostakovich is the composer who best satisfies me today, independently of the country I live in.
@@pierfrancescopeperoni yeah I’ve always liked Shostakovich’s music as it is but when experiencing repression first-hand Shostakovich was one of the things that kept me sane those couple of weeks. I found myself listening to this on loop. I guess misery likes company so maybe that’s why this piece consoled me in a weird way.
This is the greatest performance I have yet encountered. I am staggered!!!!!! Bravo, especially, Maxim, for your profound understanding of the meaning of this music beyond the notes.
What a privilege to be able to watch this stunning performance... one of my favorite musicians beautifully playing one of my all time favorite composers! And with such an accomplished orchestra conducted by Maestro Sanderling. Absolutely gorgeous.
I'm dabbing the tears away now... What a performance! and what a recording: it's coming through my laptop tiny speakers as if through floor standing ones!
It’s like an epos - and it’s such an emotionally fulfilling experience, a voyage, how enormous! Bravo to Maxim Vengerov, Thomas Sanderling and the outstanding orchestra!
Bravo! Thank you so much for sharing this performance. You have been my favorite violinist ever since I attended one of your early concerts at Avery Fisher Hall decades ago. 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐💐💐💐
many thanks for this deeply appreciated post by my favorite violinist of my favorite composer's best violin concerto. Fine orchestra and conductor too. Bravo to all.
Изумляет красота звучания скрипки в руках этого мастера, исполняющего давно любимое произведение, знакомое в разных интерпретациях. Оркестр аккомпанирует замечательно. Спасибо за незабываемое впечатление!
Oooh my!... how may strands of the bow's hair have been sacrificed for this performance?😂....you rock Maxim Vengerov!..so happy I got to know you thru Brett and Eddy of TwoSet!..❤❤❤🎻🎶🎵
Extraordinary ! Such a mastery and feeling at the same time, I listened and looked and just couldn't believe humans are capable of this ! You made me feel the best of mankind. Thank you.
To whoever manages this channel, it's obnoxious how there are so any ads placed randomly throughout the video. Please put them in between movements so that they don't disrupt the music. I'm sure Vengerov would agree with this
Thank you Maestro !! This is a great gift for humanity. Please release some albums in HI-RES audio format (like SACD, Blu-ray audio or FLAC 192/24 files). I think your are among the few musician who did not have any HI-RES albums released for audiophile audience. Recordings of classical music must be released in HI-RES audio.

Dang.... I thought was going to be a new performance but because I'm stupid/and or tired I didn't see "(2019)" in the title. Still a great performance undoubtedly! Vengerov playing with the same passion and energy he had 30 years ago!!!
Vengerov, the master! One of my favorite violinists, he totally "Gets" this magnificent creation by Shostakovich. However, the live performance by the amazing Sergey Khachatryan with Maestro Eschenbach is completely out of this world.
I am not an expert or anything but In my opinion the most beautiful movement is the Passacaglia it feels like a solo violin against the orchestra that sounds really dark and violent whereas the violin seems to convey hope
