      Exactly. I love Perlman and his musical passion and virtuosity. Not Hilary Hahn who is too cold in her cleanness.
      But Hadelin is like a Perlman with a touch of Hahn which makes it a perfect combination for me.

      But I’m convinced that this interpretation of this song is something that our man Beethoven would’ve said was exactly how he heard it in his head.

    Most violinist (and I'm talking the best in the world), when they play this concerto, it sounds like a bunch of scales. With Augustin, however, it sounds like music. At 24:00, right after the double stop, watch how he strikes the low note. And he does it again at 24:05. That is old-school Heifetz style playing. I suppose the difference is with Augustin, and the rest of the violin word, he knows what make the violin sound good, how to make it speak, and how to make music for crying out loud. So many musicians are so far stuck up their you know what, running around here talking about respecting the composer that they totally forget how to actually make music. They all sound like robots. And this concerto is notorious fickle. Even if you play it in tune it still sounds out of tune. Yet, Augustin has found a way to finesse it so it sounds so simple, logical and actually pleasant to listen to. Bravo - AGAIN. He is really killing it, one concerto after the next.

      I see Kogan live play this concerto , and now on RUclips i can hear Oistrakh , and I think Hagelich is one of the best now for sensibility , but Oistrakh is "imprevedibile".

    Beyond beautiful. This orchestra understands Beethoven. The horn section is finally allowed to play outright. The Bass and Celli keep the entire life of this concerto--which might also have been another symphony, given the fabulous musical ideas herein. The soloist's job is to rip us a new Beethovinian "heart." He does so here, for sure. Bravo!

      Okay, to the two chortling hyenas in the replies above me, consider that if you can hear a note of music in this video, it’s because a sound engineer did their job. If you can hear enough of those notes well enough to fall in love with their interpretation and musicality, it’s because a sound engineer had the sensitivity and skill to do their job with style, taste, and fidelity.
      If you then had the impulse to leave a comment jeering at the idea that a sound engineer had any meaningful impact on your experience, it’s either because a.) your ignorance of recording and mixing is so deep as to render you blind to their very existence, or b.) the sound engineer’s skill in capturing this performance is so deep as to render their contribution invisible to you. Probably both.
      Sound engineering, mixing, and basically all aspects of music production - and all the individuals who work in those fields - never fail to be undervalued by classical enthusiasts who think they live in the 1850s. The recording arts are just that - art. And while the original comment here might have incorrectly implied that this performance’s sound engineer made this musical interpretation possible in the first place, the sound engineer certainly made it possible for you to enjoy that interpretation - not only with the clarity and sonic warmth present in this recording, but, you know - at all. One comment serving praise towards them doesn’t detract from the genius of the performances they capture.

    Augustin Hadelich réinvente le concerto de Beethoven et lui donne une dimension d’une hauteur spatiale ! L’orchestre qui l’accompagne ainsi que son chef signe là une interprétation d’une beauté inégalée ! • @portmantonal
      @portmantonal Год назад +4

      @@erikgardetemps I've listened to all of those besides Rapin in preparation to learn the concerto, and honestly this performance for me is easily in the top quarter, mostly because of how clearly and cleanly his musical intentions come across. Though I typically love his vibrato I do think it's a bit much for this piece, just too Romantic. Mutter, Szeryng, and Oistrakh probably top it for me. Also, I believe I've read that Ughi was a big inspiration for Hadelich growing up, so it's neat that you mention him.
      Also, the orchestra in this version is a fantastic match.
