Busy life sometimes makes us forget the importance of relaxation. But this video reminds me that we need to take time for ourselves, relax and enjoy moments like these.
I think this is my new favorite interpretation. It's just amazing how careful he is with every single note. It sounds like he has a very strong vision about how it should sound and that he manages to play every single little note exactly how he want's it to be. He is also very good at tactfully flexing his violin, showing off how how responsive it is and that it can project these extremely delicate little notes while having a warm, deep and powerful sound.
Absolutely agree!! Fantastic violinist. He holds his instrument like a child, but also can express deepest passionate feelings like those to woman who one loves with all the strength of his heart and soul.
The spacing of the orchestra seems to affect the sound- makes it more open and transparent. And the lack of audience adds to the effect. The result is astounding, something really special.
I certainly didn't miss the constant coughing and other spontaneous noises coming out of the audience. But normally for me, it's that moment when the audience erupts into applause and ovation when every hair on my body is standing at rigid attention, and those goosebumps reflect what I feel the soloist must be experiencing at that moment. It's a shame such a wonderful performance was put on, and no one was there to witness it. Mr. Tetzlaff deserved a solid ten minutes after this masterpiece.
This is incredible work of human. In spite of these hard times, you gave us Hope with music. Huge thanks to Beethoven, two maestroes and the orchestra from the bottom of my heart.
I've been a big fan of Christian Teztlaff for years and have seen him live a few times in performances that ranged from good to revelatory. I also love the fact that he plays (or at least played) a modern violin made for him for about $17,000.
Barletta Francesco Roma. Grazie grazie mille all' orchestra è al bravissimo violinista. Bravo anche al direttore Estrada. Grazie 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Tetzlaff is really one of the greatest, not only of the current generation, but of all the recording era. Perfect intonation, right arm and bow control I will kill to have, true musical spirit and personnal interpretation without any easy effect. Love all is Bach record, but this Beethoven is so close to perfection...
This really works, loving this series, huge thanks to Frankfurt Radio Symphony. The fact that Christan Tetzlaff plays chamber music as well as being a fine soloist adds a lot to how he interacts with this very fine orchestra. Wonderful, and quite original interpretation.
Incredible and absolutely gorgeous, I'm floored! The trills in the first movement just sing. The rubatos, phrasing and dynamics, and balance are amazing all the way through the entire piece. The FRS is definitely at the top of their game, you guys rock; BRAVO!
I have listened a lot of very talented violinists play this concerto and for whatever reason this penetrated to my deepest soul. I teared when listening. Bravo Christian. Amazingly powerful
Moltes gràcies a tots.
Great performance, and not interrupted by audience coughing between movements ! Bringing in drums into the cadenza is very inventive and echoes the very beginning and end of the work
I floated up out of my chair with goosebumps going up and down my back when Tetzlaff played that out of this world cadenza. Bravo! Came back down when the 2nd started and was still enthralled with this magnificent orchestra and soloist when the last notes were played. Truly a wonder of wonders performance. Bravo to all!!!
Don't forget that there is a sound engineer before his console who has all he wants to change the sound and make you feel the sound of 100 musicians when there's half that number.....This sound looks terribly artificial for a real music lover.
Bravo dear HR musicians! thank you so much for bringing us something we all need desperately in this special time: love and beauty of Beethoven's music
@@agseu3668 I thought you were serious and said to myself : At least 6 thousand million people on earth understand MUCHAS GRACIAS!! Maybe he comes from Mars 🤔

Wonderful, very Beethoven, and great violonist. First concert I see with masks around... So grateful we have these great composers and musicians at this time of the pandemia.
In Germany, we have with 130 professional orchestras the largest orchestral landscape in the world. This orchestra is financed by the Hessischer Rundfunk, the City of Frankfurt and the state of Hessen. The musicians have a relatively good, but above all secure income.
I have to congratulate these musicians. Playing with that much space between them is so difficult, but they make it sound wonderful. It forces you to listen intently and rely a lot on visual clues and body language. I find it exhilarating!!
Bravooo! ...
I was fortunate to see Christian Tetzlaff, perform this amazing piece at Royce Hall @ UCLA. It was amazing and the CADENZA was mind blowing. He transcribed it himself from Beethoven's works. So wonderful! Exceptional. (I have to agree the social distancing is unnerving)
I love this performance, but somehow it makes me very sad. The pandemic has changed everything, especially how we relate to people we have to work in close contact with. God I can't wait until this thing is over, and we can see a concert like this in person, and forget about "social distancing"
I agree with you 100 % - yet listening to this without coughing and sneezing has it´s merits, too .-)) Special praise to the conductor for his precise and nuanced directions!
Watching in 2023. Already weird to see the spaced orchestra and no audience. Just an exhilarating performance by Christian Tetzlaff and the wonderful FRS. Love the "duet" between the timpani and violin. Who but Ludwig would do this? Thank you to all the musicians who carried on during the challenging times.
It just dawned on me that one reason for these performances during the pandemic is likely to keep the musicians employed. That makes good sense. Regardless, the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra has given me wonderful hours of entertainment. Thanks to the musicians, conductor and staff of the orchestra. You're providing great music for all of us to enjoy.
Mil gracias,
Brilliant! A virtual standing O from this armchair concertgoer. This will be a page in the history of covid performances. Thank you Christian and Andres!
Interessant.
the orchestra sounds superb mainly in the crescendi of the tutti sections without tampering the solo of violin. The sound gains some sort of mesmerizing quality with the spacing and the empty auditorium.

Transparency is an audiophile team, one of the measurements in recording quality.
Ι dont think we can judge sound from a utube vid
The middle movement is the profoundest here
Absolutely astonishing both Beethoven and teztlaff interpretation
The orchestra sounds fantastic, sharp, crisp in a much more lively room.
