In case your road won't follow the curve, here's what solved the problem for me: Select the curve, press ShiftS > Cursor to Selected Select the object (for example tube) and press ShiftS > Selection to Cursor Give your object a Curve modifier, find the right Deform Axis (here -Z) The object is a bit shifted, it's because you've rotated it and didn't apply the rotation, you need to apply (ShiftA) If you want the curve to go in the opposite direction, switch to Edit mode, right click and Switch Direction
Giant’s really need to improve GE by like alot, i use this method to but it’s a pain for uk maps due the junctions, good to see someone doing a tutorial on it, modders are very secretive when comes to roads lol
so I am good all the way up until I try to add the road to the curve modifier. You mentioned that you wouldn't have to do something because it worked. What is that something because I am thinking I am going to need to do that. Thanks. 15:30
@@cSandmanTS1 you zoom all they way out so the entire terrain is in the viewport, select the terrain by clicking on it, export selection(without files) and save as an obj from the drop down under the file name you want to save it as.
@@cSandmanTS1 also in blender you need to resize the terrain by clicking on it and resizing everything to .010. I can only see the entire map in y view. You can see a portion of the map if you are close to it.
Ever so sorry for the late reply - this is me on my other account. I thought I covered it in the tutorial, but perhaps not. What you need to do is make sure the whole terrain is in view when exporting. Secondly you need to make sure that in the preferences section in GE - your export scale needs to be set to 1. For whatever reason it defaults to 100, which is too big for blender to load. If anymore assistance is needed join the discord and I'll see if i can give you some pointers there discord.gg/pfb8Nnt
Has anyone had issues with the road texture not rendering out very far in-game? I used a modified version of the road texture that came with the splinestreetconstructor download, but when I look in-game, it becomes very blurred just a short distance away from my eyepoint, while the surrounding terrain is still in-focus.
hello, this video is very helpful, please could you make a video how you make that road profile, include keyboard keys on screen, so I can know how to shape the road profile and smooth it and subdivide.. I want to create road for my map, and blender is worse thing for me, as I don't know how to use it. Please help.
hope you read this I know I know been a while since you uploaded this video but I'm having the same problem as one @JoeTheisen he comment one this video about the last step adding the curve modifier I see you never answer the question I follow everything you did and at the end when I wanted to apply it to the curve it didn't work I try changing Axis Y,Z,X and -Y,-Z,-X and it doesn't attach idk why I follow everything on the video. Or my setting in blender are some how different
when i change the Axis it attaches but not the correct rotation and i did the step you did with the rotation and the scale so the road it attaches side ways like a wall
Never mind I fixed it. So before adding the road to the curve modifier just rotate the road the add it to the curve and if doesn't work then rotate it another way until you have it right well that what worked for me...

How did you manage to export the terrain out of GE9?

@@joetheisen2324 Awesome! Thank you so much for the response! I really appreciate it!
Great tutorial. Not too fast. YT can be slowed down and replayed.
importing the .obj file works, but I don't see the terrain.
what version blender and add-on are you using?
or am I doing something else wrong?
I am having the sane problem, Did you find a solution?
