I've watched several reviews on this machine already, and yours is the first one to address all the real concerns and questions I had about everyday use and functionality, rather than focusing on arbitrary load tests or just reading out specs that I could look up for myself on the Lenovo website. Thanks!
Anybody who would like to buy any machine in future should make this channel their home as I did...you do incredible reviews for real💯hoping for more great reviews in future🤗
That 4K & build quality ... 👍. You've touched on all of positives for this one. Your presentation and expertise will definitely get folks interested in this one. Mchanga you do ELITE work here. Chalk up a WIN 👌, enjoy your weekend and I'll see you on the next one !
Damn, I like the organization in the review, and the index is very precise. Some reviewers will just use 4 or 5 sections, such as "hardware" or "build" but you specify stuff like "hinge" and "ports". Great video.
Thanks Mchanga. I watched several other great reviewers before finding your review. All of you shared great useful information. You all covered a lot of material in a short period of time. Much appreciated. With your video I appreciated your quick pace but it didn't feel rushed as if I had to "listen fast" as with some of the reviews I watched. I also loved your close, the sequence of liking the video thumbs up, liking and leaving a comment and finally liking and asking someone to subscribe. I found that sequence felt courteous and not imposing. Any criticism if I may, is to watch out for the "uptalk" at the end of sentences.
Your review is great of this .. just got one of these used for a family member. Still a near perfect laptop for its use, and can be bought now very cheap. Only issue I have with the review is that the pen can't do professional lines with pressure sensitivity... With the proper Wacom drivers installed, and using good software that takes advantage of it, it absolutely CAN do professional quality. I use an even older model the Gen 3 and even it can create professional level work. Software makes a big difference... Line quality in apps like Krita and same as any other system with a Wacom pen... and definitely on this gen. I just point this out because the laptop and pen work with just the base drivers (the pen in a basic mode)... But in setting up mine I had to manually install the Wacom pen drivers for full pen support and pressure sensitivity.
I probably won’t choose thinkpad anymore. My thinkpad X1 yoga 2nd gen got problem yesterday, the thunderports and HDMI doesn’t function properly. I know the warranty expired but it happened after I followed their instruction that update the drives and reset button. They have a announcement that their many models which use thunderbolt 3 between 2017-2019 have this issue. When I call their technique support, their attitude just let me feel I am not their customer anymore after warranty expired.
Because you arnt a customer anymore after the warranty expires and its guaranteed that your physical problem with have real world cost to them if they assist any longer. Also every single laptop manufacturer does the same as their support staff usually read from the same scripts.
@@moviesynopsis001 if a product has a problem due to their design and only their product has the issue, some companies choose to offer free repair for the issue even its warranty expired. That’s why some companies recalled their products. Apple used to offer a free battery replacement for special model iPhone as well.
Awesome review MCHANGA. Thanks for sharing. That looks like an awesome laptop. Keep the incredible reviews coming. Hope you have an awesome day. Huge hugs and kisses. Love ya sweetheart
Thank you so much babe!!! I really appreciate your support as always. I hope you have a great evening!! Hugs and kisses right back at you! Love you more 😘
This review was very very helpful! It also made my future ThinkPad choices that much harder to choose between this or the L13 for the price lol. I wish somewhere local that would have a 4K screen and that same form factor so I may see the difference between that and a 1080p screen just because my vision sucks so I even wonder if I notice a difference between 4K and the normal HD screen. Heck, if I wanted more pixels I guess I could always HDMI into my ultra wide monitor right? This was my first video watching you and I'd say you did an excellent job, thank you for the so very much!
Hi there Karla. You should definitely pick the one that closely fits what you want and your budget lol, but they are both great options. You may not notice a difference in the 4k and Full HD screens, but if the resolution on the smaller screen isn't critical for your type of work, I recommend just plugging it into your ultra wide monitor. I do it all the time. I'm happy to help however I can and thank you so much for watching!
Thanks for your video, I was very skeptical because I been using Mac since 2005 but I need a laptop for collage and maybe for work, after I watched your video I decided to purchase it, now just wait. Thank you.....
Between the T14s with AMD Ryzen 7 and the X1 Yoga, which one would you recommend for high performance if budget was not the criteria? I loved your T14s video review!!
im very afraid to invest in Lenovo Yoga due to the previous one that i had, the screen flickers and almost impaired my eyes. Just wondering if anyone out there is already using this Gen 5 and do they have any issues with the screen panel.
is this laptop (i7/16Gb) suitable for AutoCAD and Matlab programming? I understand that it has an integrated graphics card. What'd a 2 in 1 that can run AutoCAD or a budget 2 in 1 gaming laptop? thanks.
I thought you were referring to the separately purchased Lenovo Pen Pro. If the pen that came with your device isn’t working, you may need to search Pen Settings on your laptop to verify the pen functions are turned on.
great review! i just got a thinkpad p43 - whihc is excellent (but no yoga flip or touchscreen...) but it does have an extra nvidia graphics chip - which has surprisingly for its low spec level been pretty awesome for editing and exporting video.... if get a thinkpad yoga if it had extra graphics (over the lame intel graphics) as thats the deal breaker for me...next time
Can I use this in tablet mode to read comic books? What if I touch the keys in the back while i'm holding it? Is the keyboard deactivated in tablet mode?

So if I buy 2016 Lenovo thinkpad x1yoga in core i5/i7 with 8gb Ram, so will it be sufficiently fast for my above tasks or you think it’ll be slow and will not be able to meet my expectations? I do recommend making sure you’re getting a reliable convertible laptop since that’s not a model that’s in production anymore. I’m not sure what your budget is or if the machine is a gift, make sure you know what you’re getting and that it doesn’t currently have an catastrophic issues. Thanks for watching!

Hi there. I would definitely go for the Ryzen 7 model for top overall performance. Thanks so much for watching!
Great review, what do you think about Gen 6? Is it a massive upgrade over Gen 5? Interested in hearing your thoughts. Thank you!
Thank you Akarsh. I wouldn’t say the upgrade is massive but if you don’t already have the Gen 5, get the Gen 6.

Excellent review and just what I needed. Getting one but the seller has does not have the BIOS password, is there a way around this?
reviews often talk about the price, but they don't realize that 3 years later it will be $300 used on ebay.
Gen5 is still $500 in my country :') so i have to make do with gen4
what is the refresh rate of this laptop
16:9 is a deal breaker for me.
I will keep my old 3:2 ThinkPad.

@Michael Delpach You can switch that in the Windows settings easily, just gotta get used to it a bit.

@@MchangaS well I have tried my best but all the settings are related to pen sensitivity or other but none of em is having an option to turn it on
Did you verify the pen worked when you bought it? It’s automatic...there is nothing to turn on since it’s automatically synced with the Yoga.
I wish they would do a 15" 4K version of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. I am spoiled by the 15" screen of my Yoga C940.

thinking of buying this for engineering projects, would that be suitable?
Yes it would be.
might wanna consider the X1 Extreme instead for dedicated graphics
