It's really nice laptop I currently have the Dell Latitude 9420 with me now and this is a very premium laptop but I still think the X1 Yoga Gen 6 feels better.
Nice review. Thank you. I just received my X1 Yoga Gen 6 today. Bought it on Black Friday - i7 11gen G7 CPU/16Gb Ram/1Tb HD/400 NIT display - $1,150. I was shocked at the price. 9 months ago the same configuration was well over $2,000. Very happy!
Thanks very much @Mark Hew unfortunely both X13 Yoga and X1 Yoga has been returned back. I can say that the X1 Yoga feels more premium over the X13 and has better speakers too. Beside the display size difference if both are similar in price the X1 Yoga is a fair better laptop in terms of material construction, speakers and temperatures.
Dear @BsianTech, thank for this thorough review. One question: do the keyboard keys "hide" within the case while the laptop is in the tablet mode, as they did in the previous models?
I got it and I'm returning it this week. When the fans kick in, it feels like an airplane taking off. There *is* a high pitch mixed in the white noise (keep that airplane in mind!). The thermals are dreadful. The air comes out through a row of holes that are blocked when you tilt the screen slightly backwards.
@playlist666, it shouldn't be that high pitch, but then again I have listen to a lot of different laptops and hundreds of the same model as well. As for the X1 Yoga Gen 6, I've only encountered 4 of these units and they didn't stick out unusual yet to far in issues or noise. I would ask to have your unit checked but you are right I am not a fan of having the exhaust vents hidden around the hinge side.
This is normally the case, good thing is things days some of the benchmarking software have added battery life test that keeps everything as consist as possible besides temperatures. I have now moved over to that for battery life test and broken it down to those common genres of work load instead. Manufactures use MobileMark results as their standard for quoting battery life from.
If you are running Windows 10, where the battery indicator icon is (in the system tray where the date and time usually lower right) click on that and you will get those power schemes beside media, Battery Saving mode is in the power options once you dive more in. If you are running Windows 11 click on the Volume icon in the System Tray, then click on the battery indictor in the power heading you see the different power schemes and the Battery Saving mode is under Battery heading.
Thanks for a great review. Can you please tell me what Laptop Arm you are using? I need one. It doesn't look like a Zen. Do you have a link. I will buy through you affiliate link if you post it. Thank you again.
Hi @Enzo Pianelli, the laptop arm in my videos is from Zen but they may not have the arm listed on their site yet, might have to give them an email but I will have a chat with them about it getting it on their website. It comes in two colors, black or silver.
@@BsianTech That’s great thank you so much. I wanted to buy the silver one of course just like you have. I will keep checking their website until it appears. Thanks again for the great reviews
Hello, can you point to the SIM card slot under the back cover? One huge pain point of the model is that it doesn't have any sim card tray :( Thanks in advance!!
Actually it has it. Maybe this particular PC configuration in this video hasn't. Sim card slot for Gen 6 is on right side between USB-A and headphone jack.
The Lenovo pen that comes with the Yoga Gen 6 doesn't have top button for default eraser but you can configure one of the side buttons on the pen to be the eraser. As for using the wacom stylus I see why not. I used Dell pens on the Yoga before and worked fine.
Very good and plain language review. Well done and thank you for taking the time to provide this review. It's one of the top 2 I've seen so far anywhere. I have a quick question for you and would appreciate your thoughts. My laptop is just over two months old and I got an extended 2 yr warranty so I know it's covered for a lot of things (I got the highest tier). The left usb-c port used to charge but then it stopped all of a sudden. I knew because the laptop totally died even though it was plugged in to AC power. I changed the power cord to use the second usb-c port (second from the left) and it charges as the first one used to. I've updated drivers, firmware etc. but that first port no longer charges the unit. Any thoughts?

Just bought a version of this laptop….love it so far.

@Henry still in love with it?
@@BsianTech 9420 is a perfect machine, I think. But why lenovo feels better? 😀
I loved your review, many aspects were seen.
Thanks @Jesus Camarillo I appreciate the comment and good to see it was useful for you.
This was a very well done and complete review, thanks!
Thanks very much @Michael Pujos, hopefully the parts don't get too repetitive for you
Excellent review. Thank you for your effort.

Woah that is a very good deal you manage to snag up for Black Friday deals @Trey Drier!
I love how detailed the review is. If the typing experience was talked about then that would have been a plus. Thank you BsianTech!
I definitely plan to buy one.
Won't be disappointed by it, the feel of this 2-in-1 laptop is very premium.
Helpful, thanks! Ordered one…
Great review as usual! Can you do a video on the comparison between X13 Yoga and X1 Yoga?

Thanks, my favourite reviewer.

@BsianTech Which type of screen do you have in the video, is it anti-glare or anti-reflective?
Where can I change the different battery modes? You mentioned them at 6:42

Good for occasional gaming ?
Should I get this or macbook pro m1pro ?? Both these cost same in india ,
You never said what screen type you have for the battery test....it makes a difference...
Great suggestion, I will be adding this information to future videos with the processor type too.
laptop arm details please?
Wow , your vids are cool and interesting . Maybe you should review the macbooks too !
According to your SN, your keyboard is a CHYCONY, heard that LITE ONs are better, do you think so? :)
Excelt review,
Hey ! Cool review !
Do you know if the chassis will scratch easily when folded into tablet mode and used on a table ?
I would consider the chassis scratchblity the same as a macbook.
@@BsianTech never had a MacBook, does that mean one would really be able to see it ?

Great laptop and good review. I wish there was an SD card slot...
Thanks @Pvsa Morgan, Yes that would be really a killer to have the SD card slot back even the microSD card slot so can add extra cheap storage.

Could you please make a comparison with the rog flow x13 vs x1 yoga
I found an x1 Yoga Carbon 6th gen, i7, 16gb ram and 512 SSD for 570 USD. Is that a good price?

Looks great
6 hr and 59 min in battery mode is weak right
It's okay I wouldn't say strong or weak. You should get more out of it as I run the test with constant load.
@@BsianTech this one or yoga 9i??
Does this laptop support windows 11 upgrade
Yes
I didn't like the battery performance, n balanced battery, it lasts less than 4 hours. Thank you for the review
Totally agree, disappointed in battery life.

Those fans are really tiny toys, xD
They are quite small looking but they don't have annoying high pitch whine when they run at full speed.
Great review. Thank you.
