Roof scoop and hood scoop would really finish it off. And maybe a custom fabricated bumper diffuser instead of the exhaust delete just to make it look a bit more raw rally.
It's crazy how this looks so much like mid 90s celica gt4 rally car! Looks sick. This guy killed it on this rally build! To bad they didn't have a 95 celica to compare it to!
The 90's WRC Celica commanded global respect and this car portraits the same kind of emotion to a global motorsport community. A fluffer of motorsport heritage.
This build is really amazing. It shows us the potential of what people can build and what Toyota could have or could build. Apart from the exhausts the build really came along.
I used to drop quarters into a celica rally game back in the day, you stood up but had a wheel, shifter and 2 pedals, great times, then the golden age of rally games, the Colin McRae era and all it’s competitors at the time. I love this build, I do wish they would have changed the engine back like rally cars.
really wish they woulda been able to keep the boxer but otherwise this entire thing is a dream come true, really insane to see, the silhouette is amazing
Possibly a hot take but, I think the 86 fits more into the profile of being a Next-Gen Celica than it does into being an 86. Don't get me wrong I still love the car. Although if it came with the 3 - cylinder on AWD and was branded as a celica as an out the box toy it would sell just as good if not better. With that being said this concept is phenomenal and the execution is even better 10/10. Love it.
This is a great and iconic livery. They even had a Super Touring XV10 Camry that raced in the South African Super Touring series that has this livery. Yes, good idea. Subaru can add the 555 livery with a boxer and a bonnet scoop and have it on their stand next to Toyota. Hindsight, Yamaha can do a red/white YZF version of this with Öhlins gold spatter 😂
Ten years ago, there was the GR86X, which was co-developed with Tommi Mäkinen based on the previous 86, but this appears to be the first AWD model since then.
