- It's time to get started on the golf green for the front yard golf course I'm building here at Westberrie. This is a push up style where we are using native soil to build the green. Check out the work that has been completed in the past few weeks!

Ben's channel, Lawn Tips, is what I watch in the winter. One of the best. Highly recommended.
Yeah Ben is in summer during our winter so that helps with cabin fever. Also getting a head start on what we will do in our summer
I planted your Ryegrass a week ago and it popped in 4 days! Good stuff!
This seeding was the fastest I've ever had at 2 days. Helps when it's hot like it is
Looking good Kudos to your farmer friend helping out. What a dude! Looking forward to it greening up.
I see green above the blankets already so it's off to a decent start!
I am a landscape contractor on my own grass. I’ve used every product you can think of. Just wanted to let you know that I tried out your ex caliber, which I mixed with some iron and a little bit of humor acid and my grass has never been Greer. I think that’s going to be my go to from now on spoon feeding obviously every two weeks.
Man.. nice work. I'm having flashbacks to 1990s when I was building golf courses. Lots of work.
Cool to see how you have “leveled up” your lawn over the years!
You’re looking like you’re ready to run a marathon with all that sweat equity you have been putting into your property! 💪🏽
Excited to see you on Spud Run Golf!
Ryan out here living the dream...
Pretty cool man I like watching the process
Great video! Fellow lawn guy, and golfer here in Virginia. Question… I cleared about 7k sqft of trees, removed stumps, and graded down to 10”. Soil has great levels apart from a PH of 4… which I have been bringing up this summer. I wanna get seed on the ground sooner rather than later. I have irrigation. Can I seed now and then seed again in September for any spots that don’t make it? TTTF is what I’m planting.
Yes you'll just have to watch water closely and as you said, prepare for some fixes
Enjoy your channel. Get lots of lawn tips. Thamks Ryan
Going all in. Love it!
I'm bringing my clubs!
Have the same sunglasses. Nice style!
Wow Ryan, you have been really busy! It's looking even better than before! You have convinced me to take some top soil from another part of my property and get my side hill reseeded since it washed all away twice now! Where can I pick up those straw blankets? I'm looking forward to come down and play sometime. I would also like to invite you to our open house of my new shop coming up either the last weekend in August or first week in September. Take care bud!
Amazingly
What do you spray on the roundup resistant stuff? Looking forward to following this green journey!
Most of the stuff is either high rate of 24d or Dicamba
I often time my lawn care to what you do, since we're essentially at the same latitude. But putting down fall seed now? Ok, Ryan. I'll start the glyphosate this week, but it feels so very wrong. (But I think it'll work out fine -- thanks for giving me permission to do what I wanted to do anyway -- I've been sitting on this seed for weeks now.) It'll be fun, regardless.
I planted ryegrass in early June...doing fine right now but you have to babysit
@@ryanknorrlawncare Like you, I enjoy the babysitting. One of the nice things about your channel is that you are free to give advice for those of us that don't fit the Scott's Four-Times-A-Year mold. The most important thing I've learned though, is that it's just grass... it's fun to try things, and if you have the time and can waste a bit of money experimenting, it's a lot of fun. Really looking forward to seeing how this projects turns out. Thank you, again!
It would be nice to have a before and after photo, it still looks pretty flat, even after all that soil was moved there.
You'll see it when it's mowed down. There's going to be a big hill to putt up on the front corner or for it to roll back down easily into the main section
I can see the vision. Hey how did you like the hack shack at Spud run? You guys are great.
Whew!! That's a lot of work on top of all the other things you have to do...
What is the fine fescue you are planning to use for your no mow area? Hard, creeping, chewing, sheep? I am currently looking for seeds for similar purposes. I was thinking a sheep.
Hard sheep and chewings...I left out the creeping because from what I read it doesn't stand as much upright and I'm going for the taller look.
@@ryanknorrlawncare I am going for that same look. Can’t wait to see the results when unmowed next year!
get some yucca extract down - will help the seedlings through the hot weather.
Ryan! You look like you’re cutting some weight buddy! Must be all the back and forth behind those spreaders!! 😅
I've lost about 25 pounds. Can't go much farther or there won't be anything left 😂
@@ryanknorrlawncare that’s madness!! You’re looking good man! Nice to see your progress. Keep up the good work!
Excited for you Buddy! You thought you had a lot to do already.
I've seen quite a few people using 'Pre-germination' technique to save water and to steer clear of issues like fungus. Have you ever tried pre-germination? What are your thoughts about it?
This is a really cool project! Did you get rid of your Kubota skid?
No
Hi Ryan.....How about building a grass tennis court on that property?
Maybe some day!
Where do you get your straw blankets? They’re so expensive everywhere I’ve looked
Menards
Oh Yeahhhh!
So cool man
Yo shout out to lawntips aye how about you get on a plane and go see him at somestage he came all the way to the US to do a tour you would probably hate the heat in Australia in summer🤣🤣 would be a cool video
How’s the Luba 2 doing?

VERY random question - what watch are you using?
Samsung version 5 I believe
Ryan when are we going to meet your friend? He’s been doing a lot for you. We’d love to meet him
Pinehurst originally had push up greens.
I have a bent grass green at my house only about 500 sqft. But it is so much work. Now I didn’t put drainage in and I only dug down maybe 3 inches and filled with sand. I’ve struggled with dollar spot for two years now and getting real good density but I guess that all comes down to what strain you go with
Get yourself a #200 sieve and do a gradation. Based off ASTM standards the amount passing the #200 sieve (fines) determines if it’s a sand or silt.
An Atterberg test will tell you if the fines behave more like a silt or clay.
I’m a geotechnical engineer and based off what I’m seeing you definitely have more of a silty soil. Sand won’t clump like that. By classification, poorly-graded sand (SP) doesn’t have more 5% fines passing the #200 sieve. Poorly-graded sand with silt has 5-12% fines, and silty sand has between 12 and 50 percent fines. Once you have more than fifty percent fines it’s technically a “fine-grained” soil which is mainly silt or clay. I’m guessing your stuff has more than 50% fines which still doesn’t drain well. Silty sand with about 20% fines is perfect for infiltration yet still holds some moisture.
Doing a sand cap on the whole thing over time
My whole lawn is slowly becoming bentgrass and I hate it. It needs to be cut short and I keep my lawn at like 3-4 inches.
Yes it's definitely not good for a taller cut
Ryan you and wife build a Green House with up side down sprinklers ill be jeouls :)
Really wish you would push out content more frequently. I feel like you could have made multiple videos out of this one. Everything looks awesome, keep up the good work!
No time for that unless a crew wants to show up and help
@ryanknorrlawncare Time is a thief. Wish you were closer to lend a hand!
Gotta invite The Lawn Tools up! Would love to see a collab!
Ben needs to stop by…you’re not having enough fun
Wish he could!
What the . . .
FEW WEEKS AGO
“I know this is not a typical green but it works for me…”
TODAY
“probably about 125 yards of soil what we ended up moving down there”
The area that is there has always been a temporary solution as I mentioned in multiple videos
@@ryanknorrlawncare 😁 No Disrespect Ryan! Keep On! I assure you I am just a sh razzer.
Do you think you'll be able to get President Trump to stop by and do a break 50 video with you?
Sure I'll call him
@ryanknorrlawncare you better not be joking! I'm sure he'd like putting on the ryegrass to dial in his game a little more.
Seems you've given yourself too much workload with this property and the content is lacking almost as bad as Connor
I appreciate your positivity
Hello @dylan8285 how about you make 400 plus full length long vids 10 to 15 min each over 4 years then tell me about lacking content. You have zero room to speak. I'm sorry, but you need to get back into your lane pal.
I’ll get the popcorn boys!!! 😅
@@lawnrebel wow the rebel himself still watches RUclips even tho been mostly M.I.A for a season or two now. Is the lawn still reel mowed over by there in Utah mtns?
