The 2022 Padres Were a Chaotic Mess (It Was Awesome)

  • Hey everyone!
Back in 2021, the Padres ended their season with one of the worst collapses in recent MLB history. Ahead of the 2022 season they sought to prove a world series championship was still achievable. While the 2022 Padres season was filled with chaos, it made for one of the most memorable seasons in team history.

This was the chance of a lifetime as the Padres are not a team that is consistently in the playoffs. I hope we don't take another 24 years to get a chance at the World Series... I get where you're coming from but the Padres got Xander and Tatis is in the right mind state for us to finally take the division. It won't take the Padres years to get back to the playoffs again. We're gonna lock up all 4 studs for years to come. Padres are already expected to make the playoffs again and this time I expect them to make the World Series and hopefully take it

They probably will but it’s going to take a miracle to do so, it depends on if they can keep this current team together or will they slowly let players go due to free agency like when Juan Soto becomes a free agent you know he’s going to receive huge offers from several teams
Or will they end up being like the San Diego Chargers they come close each year but can never win the big one when it matters (always the bridesmaid never the bride)

Well, I'm happy with what they accomplished. They're not done, and the rest of MLB knows it.... but I think Padres are up to the challenge. This makes 2019 particularly confusing to me because the Nats were so easy to root for that year, but I wouldn’t really change the outcome if I could. 2022 was different; we needed a redemption. And I’m glad it was against a team I have zero praise for outside of Harper and Realmuto (no disrespect to the Phillies, I think they’ll do great for years under Thomson).

Go Padres! It'll be interesting to see what moves we make this off-season and of course Fernando coming back. Should be fun

So many ups and downs this season.
They surpassed my expectations and finished on a high note considering their franchise player didn’t even play.

It was still an amazing playoff run. It was exciting and I am glad I was there when we took out the Dodgers.

They were close this year so close, just ran into a brick wall in the Phils, who ran into a bigger one in Houston. Slam Diego WILL have its day, I know it!

I was at the game 1 loss at dodger stadium and my exact words to my gf walking to our car were “we got the pitching the win this series, we are gonna beat LA despite losing game 1. I get goosebumps still thinking bout the whole playoff run, the energy in SD, especially downtown was INSANE AND ELECTRIC!!! I also had the privilege of going to game 2 against the Phillies at petco and can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life. It was simply amazing to be there, the crowd was lit and chanting and rocking like u see at crazy soccer games. When Blink 182 came on and the whole stadium was singing I had a smile from ear to ear. If I could bottle up that feeling it would be priceless! 2023 is gonna be insane, I am a first time season ticket member (40 game package) god willing next year I ll make the jump to the full season. But I am so amped and ready for this season to begin. Being born in LA but moved out here when I was 5 years old, I am a San Diegan. Being 41 now I still remember having to order padre home games on pay per view waaaaaaay back in the early 90’s. I know a lot of people that weren’t fans back then but my pops and me were. We watched a countless amount of games on Prime network, then Ballys and now we younger kids do t know how spoiled they are cuz u can basically watch every game of the season. My pops passed away three years ago but I know he was smiling down at me when we beat LA. LFGSD!!

Great video!!! I love how similar the Padres and Mariners are and I cannot wait for that World Series matchup next year (unfortunately for yall it's M's in 7 but that's neither here nor there) What a run for SD and a good job telling the story!
