Great job on this video. As a younger Phillies fan, this season was the most fun I’ve ever had watching baseball. I fell away from baseball for much of my teenage years because of the drought the Phillies were in, but I’ve reignited my love for baseball that I had as a child, I can’t wait to see what Trae and Bryce can do for us next year
i’ve gone to eagles playoff games and psu whiteout games but the phillies stadium was rockinggg on a different level. it came down to the depth of pitching the astros had, defense was huge as well. Pena was their X factor
U can say it ended in heart break, but ill always look back at this run and feel the emotion of how amazing it was. I'll never forget this phillies run. It's almost as good as the 08 run.
I was at the NLCS clincher, sitting in the pouring rain (I got sick from being in the rain for so long). That Harper homerun makes me tear up. It makes me think of the fact that he said this is his city; he's really good at playing the crowd, and getting them on his side, but it was one of the first times he made it feel like it wasnt a show. He wanted to be here. I know we didn't win it all and we definitely were flawed and went on a slump in the WS. But this team brought the love of baseball back to Philadelphia and for that I love each and everyone of them (not including familia, hererra, norwood).
What an excellent video. This Phillies team was so much fun to watch in 2022! I’m also watching this after their big free agent signings, so they’ll only be better next year!
I think the other main thing that saved us was the trio of Eflin Seranthony and Alvarado in the playoffs… they pitched really well(other then the Alvarez bomb) and we we able to protect the weaker parts of the pen by getting great outings from the starters
Their starting pitching was terrific and stayed relatively healthy considering how paper thin their rotation depth was. Nola once again didn’t miss a start. Unfortunately, they went ice cold by the time the World Series came around.
I’ll never forget this team. It was the first season since I’d moved across the county, away from Philly and it made me feel a connection back to the city. It even made me a little homesick, but I loved watching them play… except that World Series, man
So much fun to relive this season via this video. Hopefully we sign Turner in the offseason, and we find some way to sure up the pitching rotation (we got a couple of fantastic talents in the farm system that I'm really hoping pan out sooner rather than later). No matter what, this year's team went way further than any of us realistically expected, and I'm super excited for next season. When the Phillies are good, baseball is good
To get to the World Series you need 3 really good starters, a few really good bullpen pieces and a hot lineup. Which is what the Phillies had Great 4th and 5th starters and great middle relief depth will turn you from a 90 win team to a 100+ win team but it doesn’t help you that much in the playoffs. People don’t really realize this when they talk about the Phillies. They had a roster that was built for the playoffs, not the regular season
This video gave me goosebumps, not gonna lie. My first MLB game was one of the almost-swept-series against the Dodgers in LA, 12x10W in the extra innings. What a nice ride that was. Thank you, Phillies, for the memories.
I’m a Phillies fan, going into the 2022 season I said this is our year… to make the playoffs. I thought we were gonna make the wildcard and get eliminated in the wc round. That was the most fun season I’ve ever had as a Phillies fan, and I was there for the 08 ws and them runs where we came short. Even though we didn’t win the World Series, it was SO MUCH FUN watching this team play baseball in October.
The forgotten thing was Nola had a Perfect Game for like 6 innings in the clincher. I also was at Game 3 and that was an electric game with memories that will last a lifetime. Great video, although it didn't end the way I would have liked this season was magical.
@@JohnThomas-lq5qp i know my rersponse may be a little late, but nola is a top 10 pitcher in baseball. high inning totals, high strikeout numbers, a whip below 1, top 10 in war among pitchers, top 4 cy young finish. if you think that he sucks, you may wanna not talk about baseball anymore.

The end of the WS left a rotten taste in my mouth, and I haven't watched a single MLB video since it ended... Until this one. This video was exceptional, and reminded me just how incredible this team was. I will never forget the crazy moments all throughout this season, and really, that's why we are fans in the first place. Sure, championships are nice, but frankly, it can be boring to win a championship when everyone expects you to. Underdogs are so much more fun to root for. So, while it didn't quite work out this season, this season will go up there with the '07-'11 clubs as my all time favorites.
I missed my train to a friends birthday because I saw this video and couldn't not watch it, im gonna be an hour late....worth it. Loved this Phillies team!!
i was at the game in philly where they beat the braves to go to the NLCS. maybe about 20 rows behind home plate. never have I been a part of a crowd so electric. one of the best moments of my life
Losing to the Stros sucked, but we knew it was an uphill battle. This season came at a very dark time in my life, and it was an unforgettable and amazing experience that reminded me why I loved the Phillies so much growing up.
Commendation to you content creator, this is one of the best produced videos I've ever seen on baseball on youtube. Keep making content. Will be sharing you!
This was indeed a very fun team to watch and root for. It's interesting that they mirrored a few other times in Philliss history. Given the sad state of baseball for much of their existence, except for the Mike Schmidt and Roy Halladay/Ryan Howard years, it stands to reason that they would defy the odds in something in order to actually win. The 1983 team may be the only one to fire its manager in midseason and then win the N. L. pennant, until the 2022 team. (Even that was during those great Mike Schmidt years. The American League had it happen a few times, a couple of those being because of George Steinbrenner.) The 1993 Phillies also had some defensive flaws and John Kruk famously proclaiming "I ain't no athlete lady." This team definitely had some similarities to that club. And, the 1980 Phillies played the Astros in a really amazing NLCS. As Mark Twain said, History doesn't repeat but it rhymes.
i will say this, the main reason why the phillies defense was very por was because nick castellanos was forced to start in right field over harper, because of his injury. had harper not been injured, nick and/or schwarber wouldve been splitting dh and left field resulting in a slightly better defense. plus, bohm had made very good strides after june 1st so that also helped a bit.
This honestly gives me hope that the Rockies will somehow put the pieces together and make a run in the future. If there’s one thing this Phillies team proved to me, it’s that anything can happen in baseball.
Got me emotional watching us clinch a spot in the world series. What an absolutely magical run. Of course it would have been better to be topped off with a world series win, but the astros are a really good team and we gave them a good fight. Will never forget this run and am excited for what is ahead for my Phillies.
Congrats Phills, Wish you could have won the whole thing. Hopefully another deep run in the postseason next year will end with a World Series. From a baseball fan
Fun team to watch that went on a captivating run. Great piece that really shows how the Phils got the most out of their talent when it mattered. That said, defensive liabilities did catch up to them in Game 5 of the WS. Hoskins misplayed a ball at 1B that if fielded cleanly, cuts down a run at the plate. Later in the same game, Mancini at 1B makes a play on a Schwarber rocket that saves a run. Switch that around, Philly wins and maybe we have a different outcome in the Series.
great summary, when Topper started it lit a spark harper out sucked but I realized how good they were when he was gone like this team is a lot more then just Harper, and when he comes back the phillies are gonna be a problem for any team..Picking up Marsh was genius at first i thought they were nuts trading are best prospect for a .200 hitter but he was a great fielder and his hitting took off along with Stott at the time
Wow! What a great video. I would love to know what kind of regular season impact we would have seen if Schwarber was batting 3rd or 4th in the lineup instead of lead-off. He has so many solo home runs it had to affect more than a few games where an RBI could have made the difference. In the end it probably didn't matter but still not a gamble I liked to see.
man i went to the NLDS game 4 when JT hit that inside the park homerun but OF COURSE I WAS IN THE BATHROOM JUST HEARING THE STADIUM EREUPT and i was also at game 5 of the NLCS and saw harper hit that homerun to win us the game sadly i wasnt at the world series but if we get a star shortstop this offseason although bryce harper is gonna have a long recover we are gonna look fantastic (we love you jean, it was for the team to get a better player)
Seeing Harper on the big stage like that was so much fun to watch. That homer in the CS is one of the best plays of the decade no doubt.
I hope he plays in at least two more World Series before he calls it a career
I was there and just the atmosphere when he hit that. I will never forget that.
Absolutely. You felt like you were definitely seeing something special out of an amazing player. I got chills when he hit that home run and I'm not even a Phillies fan but I'm definitely a Bryce Harper fan
Considering he had to take time off because his elbow blew up and he took a Blake Snell heater to the thumb, it was nothing short of a magical run.

i’ve gone to eagles playoff games and psu whiteout games but the phillies stadium was rockinggg on a different level. it came down to the depth of pitching the astros had, defense was huge as well.
I went to 10 Phillies games this season and was at NLCS game 5 and World Series game 4, it was an unbelievable season!
RUclips knew I was think of this video as the Phillies are absolutely crushing the postseason. Here's hoping they finish the job...
Get hot in April and nobody will remember. Get hot in October, and nobody will forget.
Reggie Jackson just checked into the conversation..
Ik I’m late but I was at NLDS game three and those hrs were one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had
I’ll never forget this team. It was the first season since I’d moved across the county, away from Philly and it made me feel a connection back to the city. It even made me a little homesick, but I loved watching them play… except that World Series, man
Really well made video. This Phillies run will live in history. We came up short but the ride was unreal.
When the Phillies are good, baseball is good
Turner was signed by the Phillies …
@@stevebabiak6997 I just saw this last night. LET'S GO PHILLIES
To get to the World Series you need 3 really good starters, a few really good bullpen pieces and a hot lineup. Which is what the Phillies had
Great 4th and 5th starters and great middle relief depth will turn you from a 90 win team to a 100+ win team but it doesn’t help you that much in the playoffs. People don’t really realize this when they talk about the Phillies. They had a roster that was built for the playoffs, not the regular season
this past postseason was when i first got really into baseball and watching the phillies come so close is something I'll never forget
This video gave me goosebumps, not gonna lie. My first MLB game was one of the almost-swept-series against the Dodgers in LA, 12x10W in the extra innings. What a nice ride that was. Thank you, Phillies, for the memories.
Thank u for this video. This year was so special to so many Phillies fans including me. We will be back
The end of the series was a heartbreaker for sure, but I'm so proud of that team man. Hopefully they're able to improve even more in the off-season.
Literally got chills at so many points in this video. Great work man!
The forgotten thing was Nola had a Perfect Game for like 6 innings in the clincher. I also was at Game 3 and that was an electric game with memories that will last a lifetime. Great video, although it didn't end the way I would have liked this season was magical.
I'm a Phillies fan but Nola sucks. Bum had not had a winning season last 3 years and was horrible loosing last 3 games if the year. Have to trade him.
@@JohnThomas-lq5qp first off not relevant and second seems like you know nothing about baseball
Bum had not had a WINNING SEASON in last 3 years. Choke.
@@JohnThomas-lq5qp boomer, Win Loss Record hasn't been relevant in years. If you look at Win Loss Record only you wouldn't think deGrom is an elite pitcher
Damn I forgot it was the Padres that broke his thumb. That homer was personal lol
Glad to see the follow up, great content!
Thank you!
This video dramatized the postseason run, and they did it well. This is a really well done video, great work
These videos are great! The only thing I would have to say about these videos are the pacing. Sometimes the explaining takes too long, and I like it! It makes it more clear to understand. Just oftentimes, I put the video in 1.25x speed.
This makes your videos enjoyable to watch, keep up the great work!!
Yeah , we didnt win the WS but im still proud of my boys. Thanks for putting this together, was great to watch! We still dancin!
You put this video together perfectly, was like a mini documentary
I was in section 426 for game 5 of the NLCS.. That Harper homer was the most electrifying and euphoric thing I've ever seen
Rob Thomson I think had a large part of changing things
I’ll watch this video 10x over and not get tired of, this team was so special
The end of the WS left a rotten taste in my mouth, and I haven't watched a single MLB video since it ended... Until this one.
This video was exceptional, and reminded me just how incredible this team was. I will never forget the crazy moments all throughout this season, and really, that's why we are fans in the first place. Sure, championships are nice, but frankly, it can be boring to win a championship when everyone expects you to. Underdogs are so much more fun to root for. So, while it didn't quite work out this season, this season will go up there with the '07-'11 clubs as my all time favorites.
Astros are 2022 World Series Champions.
Padres fan here, this video gave me chills
I missed my train to a friends birthday because I saw this video and couldn't not watch it, im gonna be an hour late....worth it. Loved this Phillies team!!
i was at the game in philly where they beat the braves to go to the NLCS. maybe about 20 rows behind home plate. never have I been a part of a crowd so electric. one of the best moments of my life
Losing to the Stros sucked, but we knew it was an uphill battle. This season came at a very dark time in my life, and it was an unforgettable and amazing experience that reminded me why I loved the Phillies so much growing up.
Revisiting the video after the second game of 2023 NLCS, let's go philles!!
I'll really miss this team... they gave me so many memories...
The Phillies are going back to the playoffs! I came back for some nostalgia and this didn’t disappoint. Thank you for a good cry
I don’t even remember where I was for the 2008 Phillies WS win, but the 2022 NLDS and NLCS provided memories that won’t fade
Commendation to you content creator, this is one of the best produced videos I've ever seen on baseball on youtube. Keep making content. Will be sharing you!
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words
Damn that Harper homerun edit is hot fire dude holy fack
I am not a Phillies fan, but they were fun to watch his post-season. I was rooting for them, shades of 2019 Nationals.
Thanks for this video man, I really needed it. Amazing season, I'm sure we'll go back and win the whole thing this time
i will say this, the main reason why the phillies defense was very por was because nick castellanos was forced to start in right field over harper, because of his injury. had harper not been injured, nick and/or schwarber wouldve been splitting dh and left field resulting in a slightly better defense. plus, bohm had made very good strides after june 1st so that also helped a bit.
i remember the game they made the playoffs not thinking much of it, boy was i in for a treat watching them. really looking forward to next year
This playoffs was really fun to watch, a lot of the games were entertaining
This honestly gives me hope that the Rockies will somehow put the pieces together and make a run in the future. If there’s one thing this Phillies team proved to me, it’s that anything can happen in baseball.
What a run! Most fun team to watch. Phillies 2022 was a wonderful time
Got me emotional watching us clinch a spot in the world series. What an absolutely magical run. Of course it would have been better to be topped off with a world series win, but the astros are a really good team and we gave them a good fight. Will never forget this run and am excited for what is ahead for my Phillies.
That Astros No Hitter was the same feeling I had in game 6 of the 1993 World Series. OUCH thanks Universe lol
Great video. One thing missed was Thomson's leadership, which was huge.
As a Phillies fan, that angels game you showed saved the season
I thought about your video literally all season. Unreal. Go Phil’s baby
Congrats Phills, Wish you could have won the whole thing. Hopefully another deep run in the postseason next year will end with a World Series. From a baseball fan
Video gave me actual chills. Great job
Such a great video, and a season that I will never forget.
In the end it probably didn't matter but still not a gamble I liked to see.
awesome video, brought back such an unexpected, exciting time!
I remember that Harper 2 run homer in the eighth. It was crazy, the emotionless face he had with the swing of a lifetime.
11:42 If the Phillies had won that World Series against the Astros that photo on the Jumbotron would’ve became a meme.
I also loved seeing Darick Hall getting in some playing time. He's a good player and I hope he gets more time on the field next season
man i went to the NLDS game 4 when JT hit that inside the park homerun but OF COURSE I WAS IN THE BATHROOM JUST HEARING THE STADIUM EREUPT and i was also at game 5 of the NLCS and saw harper hit that homerun to win us the game sadly i wasnt at the world series but if we get a star shortstop this offseason although bryce harper is gonna have a long recover we are gonna look fantastic (we love you jean, it was for the team to get a better player)
What fun ride that was, would of loved to see them win it all but it was exciting. Welcome to the city Tre Turner..Let's go Phils!!!!
I've been waiting months for this video, and I just now find out that I'm 13 days late to watching it. GO PHILS
Hell of a video. Covered it all. And great editing!
