Thanks for posting this. It was very informative. I had this last year, and it spread so fast due to my constant air movement in the room, that it wiped out my entire collection! Even the ones I moved out of the room, once I realized it was spreading, later showed signs of infection and had to be disposed of. It was devastating. The experience taught me to be extremely vigilant now, especially when introducing new plants to your collection.

I AM SO SORRY TO SEE AND HEAR! I've been dealing with some pretty nasty infections myself so indeed I know the feeling. But indeed you did all that you could at least you can move on knowing that...because I do agree...it's not worth infecting your other orchids.

MY Orchid Adventures thank you for your support! I have been second guessing whether or not to toss it out for sometime now. There is a decent root system, so I may try and just chop off all of the infected foliage (which is all of it) and see what happens. The timing is not ideal for such a drastic measure though, they don't grown with the same vigor indoors so it would be at a disadvantage compared to spring or summer. We will see! 😊❤🌺🌴

+Tropical Plant Party that is a great idea...why don't you keep that one inside your house away from the others...and do just that in the spring...then you can do an extreme rescue and propagation experiment...as a matter of fact...I challenge you!!! :) Hey it definitely is worth a shot! GOOD LUCK AND MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED! :)

Oh nooooo..... that is really too bad. Sorry to see that. The vendor should have known better than selling a sick orchid. The smaller vanda (keiki) does not look to bad. Possibly you can separate it and treat it. I will have to be on the alert for that virus.

Thank you for this Video. I’m a new Vanda collector an I noticed yesterday my Vanda is developing something that looks pretty much like yours. No one tells you these things when your buying them. Ha ha Only find out the hard way. So I’m in the fight to save my Vanda!!

Check out MissOrchidGirl's videos . She had one like this and used peroxide and major clipping of the leaves on hers. I have one like this and purchased it about a month ago. It is in full bloom now and I will try to save it. It's still in pretty good shape. I just spayed it with peroxide. We'll see how that goes... Good luck with yours!

I’m so sick, I didn’t know about it an an now all 3 of my new Vandas have it. I was told, “ yes you can water your Vandas in same bucket”! 😡😡😡 So I’ve been treating them but more spots coming. I’m ready to take off all the leaves an leave it God!! Live an learn but it’s sickening too New Vanda owners!

It is very annoying! Mine have always been soaked together and shockingly I got lucky and it didn't seem to spread very much. It's become a common disease. I see it on so many of them now. Maybe a resistance has been somewhat built up by the orchids? That seems like a reach, probably not.

Maybe you can advise? I’m thinking of taking off all the leaves an see if they will kick out a Kiki ? Or just chunk them out in the NC cold.
