I'm honestly surprised you didn't mention swapping the twinscroll turbo in from the 2016 WRX FA20DIT. A full engine swap isn't needed since they both have the same FA20 block, but the wrx block would probably be almost a direct fit if someone did want to swap the engine as well as the turbo. Peak power at 5600rpm & peak torque from 2k to 5.2k rpm! Plus, with a stage 1 delicious tune on 98ron fuel, the FA20DIT in the WRX can reach ~300bhp & ~385nm. That's 50% more power and nearly 90% more torque than stock, which should be enough to satisfy most people craving more power while keeping costs low (easily under 10k total).
Did anyone else notice the 1gz toyota v12 was actually in a lexus rc chassis? I'm not sure if a 1gz would fit in a FRS/BRZ/86 so I was just wondering why it was included in this list.
