    A DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox) or DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) is a type of automatic transmission known for its quick shifts and efficiency. Here are some tips for DSG/DCT gearbox:
    Smooth Acceleration/Braking:
    Gradual acceleration and braking help the gearbox operate smoothly.
    Abrupt changes in speed can confuse the system.
    Avoid "Creeping" in Drive:
    When stationary, use the brake pedal instead of letting the car "creep" forward with the accelerator.
    Manual Mode for Enthusiasts:
    If you enjoy more control, use the manual mode for gear selection using paddle shifters or the gear lever.
    Coast in "D" Mode:
    When cruising, let the gearbox shift automatically in "D" mode for optimal fuel efficiency.
    Service Intervals:
    Follow recommended service intervals for the gearbox to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
    Cool Down After Hard Driving:
    Allow the transmission to cool down after aggressive driving to prevent overheating.
    Rolling Stops:
    Avoid excessive rolling stops as the gearbox might downshift abruptly.
    Use Parking Brake:
    When parked, engage the parking brake to reduce stress on the transmission.
    Check Fluid Levels:
    Regularly check and maintain proper transmission fluid levels.
    Professional Maintenance:
    If you notice any issues or abnormal behaviour, seek professional maintenance promptly.
    Always refer to your vehicle's specific manual for manufacturer recommendations and guidelines. Following these tips can contribute to a smoother driving experience and prolong the life of your DSG/DCT gearbox

    Completely off topic but I have something to say about changing car culture in our country.
    Lately I have been seeing some reels where creator is driving at illegal high speeds on expressways and even on two lane highways. It’s sad to see number of likes and support these guys are getting for indirectly promoting rash driving.
    Even if someone criticise them for their rash driving, their followers would simply argue that “It’s a 5 star rated car, not your tin kaa dabba”.
    I have nothing against 5 star rated cars. Structural rigidity over any gimmicky feature any given day. But and a big BUT, we sincerely need to understand the limitations of these crash tests.
    A 5 Star rated car doesn’t make you death or injury proof. Gncap conducted these crash test at the nominal speed of 55-60 Kmph.
    Please drive responsibly even if you own a volvo. A 5 star safety rated car doesn’t give you the license to drive like a maniac.

      Honestly i hate Indian automobile journalist. They are nothing just advertisers for brands. If brand launch a hatchback and called it SUV they just simply promote it as SUV. They never ask reasonable questions and they don't have any knowledge, whenever they explain any tech that information was passed on by brand itself.
      Most of them stop owning any car bcoz they have multiple cars from multiple brands for promotion and they can use it for their personal use too and some who own car but hide it from public which brand they own and few are genuine who own cars and tell bad things too.
      But sometimes it's really really funny how these influencers promote Indian brands alot but when time comes to buy their own vehicle they just simply choose korean for its resale, reliability and brand value
      Now i love watching content of small creators bcoz they are easy to interact and they have very good experience and knowledge.

    Nice to see Munishji again. Regarding what he mentioned about diesel car stalling in flood situation, I'd like to make an addition. If car has stalled in flood, never attempt to crank it irrespective of whether it's a petrol or a diesel car. In either situation water will be sucked into the engine through the intake and it will game over for the engine.

    I have faced this issue with Ameo 1.5 TDI DSG - my 4y 2m old car, with 55k odo, gearbox failed and one of the reason given to me was aftermarket battery.

    Great to hear your very logical and reasonable comment on how people killing DSG and then blame it by saying its not reliable. Nowadays so called few drag race RUclipsrs doing it and then other customer as well who does not have enough knowledge and does not handle and care the DSG, lead it to fail and because of them all there is a notion and a narrative that VW/Skoda DSG not reliable and it fails for no reasons.

    Would like to add some points -:
    1. Put the car in manual mode (1st gear ) when in bumper to bumper traffic.
    it helps to prevent unwanted gear shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear, then back to 1st gear ( again and again )
    2. Move the car only when u have space ahead of your car equal to the length of your car. ( hence clutch, brake & fuel usage reduced )
    { in city traffic }
    3. put dsg in neutral ( asssuming cars speed is about 100km/hr ) when you approach for a toll plaza or a red light on the highway.
    ( clutch usage reduced, but this will put stress on brakes )
    { mostly on highways only }
    4. For dry clutch avoid putting car in eco mode because everytime you release your foot from pedal ( car in motion ) the car goes in neutral ( ie. Clutch was used ) and imagine the number of times we release the race paddle in traffic and also on highways.
    { this last point is for those who want extra care of there DSG to help reduce clutch wear & tear or people obsessed with there DSG's :D } 😄

    • @siddharthgoyal4008
      @siddharthgoyal4008 4 месяца назад

      1. If you are in bumper to bumper traffic the issue is not in shifting gears. Issue is continuous clutch solenoid engagement. Only solution is to shift to N periodically if you are stuck for a long time.
      3. Is wrong, it will damage the drive shaft.
      As long as you are decreasing speed normally from 100 or even 120 km/hr there's no issue. Normal gear shifting has no issue for transmission. There is almost 0 wear when dsg shifts down normally at decreasing speed.

    • @arsh2706
      @arsh2706 4 месяца назад

      can you explain how's that damaging drive shaft ? because last i checked coasting does no harm ( as in eco mode car goes in coasting mode every time we lift our foot from the paddle ).

    Sunder bhai, I have slavia style 1.5 MT and hv driven it for 3k kms...also same month my cousin purchased Verna sx MT(2nd top model).
    On entering the car I felt that the fit finish, quality is quite impressive, feels like an above segment car.
    On other hand my slavia doesn't feel that premium even after being the top model with slight rattles n flimsyness of ac vents.
    I can say compared to slavias interior,verna feels rich. My slavias interior I feel cant be compared here....slavia can be compared with ciaz interior with a pinch of piano Black is what I feel
    Also verna sx can be compared with slavia ambition where slavia lacks a lot of features like LED light, diamond cut alloys, sunroof, great aerodynamics and mainly as far as safety is concerned it offers only 2 airbags where verna offers 6.
    Since I had budget top slavia I could get 6 airbags but it's not that everyone will buy top model.
    Driving also since Verna is non turbo n slavia is turbo...I could feel few differences in city in verna as compared to my car as both cars would get my job done.as a drive @80kmph on light foot and even braking is also minor differences
    As Verna costs 15.2lks n slavia costs 17.85lks OTR, I think it's would be a sensible decision to go for verna where you get good interior,features n most importantly safety package(though ADAS is missed here) rather then paying 2lks extra Just for 4 more airbags for slavia.so if going for safe feature rich car with 15lk budget then avoid slavia(2airbags) n go verna(6 airbags along with many features as complimentary)
    The things what I told are the ones I found out on deep comparison of both cars. I'm not saying slavia is bad n verna is good as I also own a slavia n cousin owns a verna
    But Verna has a slight upper hand
    What do you say?
    Plz answer

    • @ikshitness
      @ikshitness 7 месяцев назад

      Buddy, since you have already purchased slavia 1.5, no point comparing. Just Chill!
      Car is meant to be driven on road and not for comparison basis spec sheet and features.
      Sunroof, diamond cut alloy wheels and ADAS are useless issues to fret about.
      If you still are unhappy with slavia, occasionally exchange it with your cousin’s car (if possible) or last resort is to sell it and purchase verna.

    • @Ayush-yn3np
      @Ayush-yn3np 7 месяцев назад

      Don't think so much. Slavia looks classy and elegant verna looks funky. Anyways exterior designs are personal choice. I prefer slavia design over verna. Also this is not your last car man. Life is long and you will be in market looking for your next car in 5-7 years. Then you will be choosing from even better feature loaded new technology cars. You are above majority of indians as you can drive a 17 lak rupee car. Just floor the pedal on an open road and enjoy whenever u think so much

    All your videos are very informative and relevant, and I have been watching for many days and have learned a lot. I am driving a 1.5 DGS Sokoda Kushaq 2023, and what I have noticed is that when I press the brake to stop my car at the traffic signal, the engine automatically shuts off, then starts again when I take my foot off the brake pedal (due to auto engine start/stop function).
    I would like to know in this specific case: is it necessary to shift gear from "D" to "N" when a car (like 1.5 DGS Sokoda Kushaq 2023) is stationary at a traffic light? Or if it is put in "D" then there is no problem? Why I am asking this because I was told by the service engineer that there is no problem in "D" mode at traffic lights. Because the ECU is now smart enough that there is no need for a gear shift in these conditions.
    I would appreciate your opinion on this matter. Thanks!

    I always put my automatic in N mode in traffic lights and also use N mode with handbrake while I turn off my engine in garage (rather than P mode) . Is this a good practice.

    When in traffic signal you are suggesting to put gear to neutral, let me know if the engine auto start should be on or off mode? I am asking for kushaq 1.5 dsg

    Hi. Thank you for this video. For someone who loves manual transmission, are kushaq or taigun manual recommended or dsg is the way to go? Any facelift expected near term for these?

    • @SaiKiran-fv1ng
      @SaiKiran-fv1ng 7 месяцев назад +1

      DSG recommended if highway usage is more when compared to city usage. If city usage is more there are chances of DSG issues creeping in the long run. Kushaq and Taigun come with DQ200 which actually has a bad reputation with respect to reliability. If automatic is a mandate then prefer the TC mated to 1.0. Otherwise better go for a 1.5 manual gearbox in case the car is used mostly in city.

    Now dsg comes with auto start stop then what to do . Whether at traffic signal we should kept the car in drive mode or should be changed to neutral because engine automatically stops.Another thing is that many time even after long drive engine suddenly stop when we halt the car . Is this has any effect on engine especially dsg

    how to change gears properly and quickly in Honda Amaze.
    my attention is always on chutchplates so i never rev too much between gear shifting and keep my foot always off the clutch once shifted gears. also i change gears less frequenty resulting in sedative driving

    Munish Sir, ek cheez galat batayi. Dual Mass flywheel engage disengage nahi hota hai Drive & Neutral mode pe. Dual Clutch packs hai woh engage and disengage hote hai jab Drive mode me slot karte hai tab. Jab bhi car drive mode pe ho tab clutch bite point tak engage hota hai and brakes release karne pe pura hi engage ho jata hai and power transmit hoti hai. Agar singal pe 40-50 seconds se jyada wait hoti hai car and Drive mode pe ho toh yeh clutch partial engagement ka friction and heat se DSG me problems aate hai. Dual mass flywheel ka yahan koi involvement hi nai hai. Dual mass flywheel sirf torque jerk ko smoothen karta hai. Transmission engage/disengage me uska koi role nai hai.

    Regd point no. 1,Yes I put the Gear lever to N in long halt,but what about slow crawling traffic,wherein we have to lift/press brakes frequently.Does that too impact Fly wheel?
