      Yes!
      If the hill is too steep or too long prefer to put the car in manual mode and drive it...
      The dct will keep on changing gears which will ruin the small moving parts
      By keeping car in one gear or the gear you think is perfect, will help the car in log run

    I belongs to the hills area of uttarakhand. I own nexon AMT. after driven it almost 1.5 years, I have got many problems in the cars, lot of them are manufacturing defect. AMT gear get confused some times. I am planning to sell it.
    I am looking for an automatic mini SUV for my location. I occasionally visit to plane area like Dehradun, gurugram. I generally drives in twisty roads 60% of the time and 40% on plane roads.
    What would be the best choice, iMT, DCT, CVT, Torque converter?

    • @prakashparadisee
      @prakashparadisee  2 года назад +1

      I would love to answer this -
      If 60% of the time you are going to be driving the car on hills and twisty roads what I can analyse is that you require a car with good acceleration so that if in case you need to overtake there shouldn't be any problem.
      The second thing is that you are looking for an automatic mini SUV and that is something we have to consider as a fixed choice.
      If you are going to drive your car on hills I I also assume that you are hoping to get a better mileage on those roads.
      If you personally ask me I would suggest you to go for a DCT as there are few benefits of DCT over the others.
      DCT gives great mileage.
      DCT has that acceleration which you may require during a a overtake.
      DCT is super smooth and if driven properly never fails.
      If you ultimately plan to go for a DCT please have a look at the video of mine in which I have discussed ways to keep your di City safe for a long period of time.
      I don't recommend a CVT engine for you because CVT can give you to a harder time on hills. If once in a while you would have been visiting hills CVT would have been ok but you will visit the hills frequently so CVT might irritate you.
      I hope I was able to give a satisfactory

    • @prakashparadisee
      @prakashparadisee  2 года назад +2

      DCT is a very complex transmission with lot of small parts to achieve the super smooth gear change and acceleration in an automatic car!
      In general while using the same you need to understand few things - for eg pressing the brakes completely in traffic so that it disengages the gear system while you are sitting idle
      Secondly avoiding sudden acceleration and braking all the time!
      It should not be done frequently!
      Other than that we have a venue DCT from about 2 years and has completed 20000kms .
      Till now no problem and i am confident that there wouldn't be any issue in future as well!

      There is just one concern and that is the ground clearance!
      I hope the area you live in and the places you will visit are not having roads so bad ki car neeche se touch kar jaaye!
      There is one more suggestion i would give if you are 100% going for Skoda - take the extended warranty as much as it's available!
      Just in case issue arises you will be secured!

      @@prakashparadisee Thanks, Prakash... Ground clearance will not be an issue, I have driven Ertiga achcha khaasa and never had an issue of ground clearance. And Slavia ka ground clearance is more than Ertiga, so should be fine. Day by day roads slowly slowly better ho hi rahe hain, so should be fine.
      DSG hi leta hun fir! And sure, extended warranty toh lunga hi pakka, but my POV is gaadi aisi honi chahiye ki zarurat hi na pade use karne ki warranty wagera, time waste and magajmaari chahiye hi nahi... So hopefully DSG will not heat up a lot like you said... Thanks.

    • @prakashparadisee
      @prakashparadisee  Год назад

      Yes the DSG won't heat up but as what we have seen in the past DSG does get problematic at times!
      So for that we should have an extended warranty!
      Also i hope you are not planning to keep the car for a "long" time 8-10 years because in such a case you may expect some issues to arrise
      Secondly if you plan to keep the car for long time - Honda is for you!
      It might be boring but it won't disappoint you in terms of engine reliability!
      If you frankly ask me unless you have good money or you are getting a good discount (i will always be scared to buy Skoda)
      The German handling and performance is a hype to compensate the less reliable engine!
      I am not against Skoda but i would still prefer to speak my heart out based on owners reviews 🙂

      @TheEnthraller Месяц назад

      This is actually not true.
      When you apply the brakes fully, the clutch is disengaged. So that would not affect the transmission.
      What you have to make sure of is that you do not press the brake to the halfway point. This results in clutch slipping, which results in increasing the temperature and that ultimately results in increased wear and tear.

      In traffic you need to press the Brake pedal firmly while in D mode. Even if u engage handbrake in D ( Which you shouldn't if you are not pressing Brake Pedal), you still need keep the Brake pedal firmly pressed. Unless u shift it to N, then you can use handbrake and let go of the brake pedal. But by shifting to N you loose all opportunity of quick reaction to move your car if there is any emergency situation and need to react fast.

      Sure - i would reply to this!
      When the car is in manual mode then you have better control over the engine of the vehicle in bumper to bumper traffic!
      In Auto mode there is a pause everytime you push the accelerator!
      When the car is in D mode then the car disengages itself as soon as there is a halt! And then as soon as you release the brake, the car engages itself !
      Engaging and disengage process is bad for the transmission! That's why the company recommend that in traffic let there be some space and don't let the car crawl too much !
      If the car is in a slow moving traffic - practically it's better to drive in Manual mode!
      I hope i was able to reply to you 🙂

      @@prakashparadisee yes correctly said. Apart from the intermittent halts, my doubt is also around every time we are on gear 1 or 2, the next gear 3 and previous gear 1 is always engaged in DCT. I wanted to confirm if a DCT is in manual mode is the next and previous gear still engage in that case or not.

      @@ridamjain94 i understand what you are asking- no in manual mode the car will not pre engage the gears!!

    • @prakashparadisee
      @prakashparadisee  2 года назад +1

      Venue diesel can give you a mileage which is approximately 22 23 and that is a very very good mileage.
      If your daily driving is 50-60kms
      Or monthly driving is 2500kms
      You should go for diesel
      If you are like me who drives hardly 15-20kms
      Petrol should be your preference!
      Feel free to counter me!

    • @prakashparadisee
      @prakashparadisee  2 года назад

      There is no such issue that should concern you!
      It's similar to the issue of placing your feet on the clutch and in the end destroying your clutch system which would cost you money!
      Similarly DCT has to be dealt with precaution and it is good to go product!

      Did my extensive research and i would like to repeat - a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) automatically disengages both clutches when you come to a stop. This means that you don't need to put your car in neutral when you stop.

      Jaise manual mein batana padta hai na ki poore time clutch par pair na rakho aur 2000 rpm hone se pahale gear change kar lo
      Ussi tarike se CVT k apne tarike hai chalane k
      Follow karne se bas life badh jayegi aur kuch nahi!
