Is IMT turbo is better than automatic transmission ?
IMTs or AMTs will always be inferior to the automatic transmission ie torque converter.
@@ICN Vikas bhai I had booked New Brezza Automatic version which has torque converter but in your CarTalaap video titled as "1 Minute Reviews of All Cars" dated 19Feb2023 , you said that Baleno's automatic gearbox is better than Brezza's torque converter.
That's why I cancelled my booking of Brezza and booked Baleno.

Torque converter gearbox is indeed much reliable than others. Even VW provided TC gearboxes with their 1.0 TSI engines replacing the notorious DSG (DQ 200).
Many full size crossovers like Tuscon, Harrier and XUV 700 come equipped with TC gearbox because of their reliability.
isnt it possible to replace the clutch with a torque converter but retain the manual gearbox? both in case of car and motorbikes?

@@vijuvlogs have you heard about Nissan CVT failures? Nissan is infamous for CVT failures. Recently Honda City CVT failure was also reported, though Honda CVT is one of the best.

@@vijuvlogs i don't know about podcasts and all. I was researching on Nissan Kicks and found the infamous CVT failure story, litigations in foreign markets etc. Hence dropped the Kicks altogether (there were other major ergonomics related issues).

Nice video with crisp and clear explanation. The most advanced and best transmission is DSG. Its poorly understood by most of us. If maintained properly its the best and more reliable than torque converter.
I think the techniques to start a dead battery car requires a video. How to Jump start / dhakka start / any other way. Along with troubleshooting.
Because i have faced battery issues where i have sometimes not been able to jump start my car, even with a dedicated jump start cable.
Only when i install the other battery in my car, does it work. I don't understand why it doesn't work with the jump start cable, which is a proper one i bought from amazon.
So troubleshooting issues like these, amd highlighting ways to start a car in emergency situations would be of great help to everyone.

I just bought (a week) a new DCA Altroz, and i am facing problem with gear shift.
I have been driving my old manual transmission car since 10 years.
But now because of automatic transmission, i am not very happy or not understanding how exactly i will raise the acceleration.
Because everytime RPM is going very high but my car is not picking up the speed. Something In low RPM also it's going very smoothly.
I don't know this is because I used to driving manual transmission car OR the DCT is working like this only.
Sir, pls explain, if possible if you can make the video, i think most people are facing the same issue.

One doubt I have, When we apply breaks, Turbine stops which is connected to your drive shaft BUT the impeller is still moving according to engine speed.
Now, what happens to the oil and stator since they would still be moving right? and does it effect the whole TC unit in any way?
Make a detailed video that what happens to engine in cold environment why it's v hard to start them .....why Toyota engine has capability to start upto - 25° c and what modification we can do in cars to make them more capable ....
Hi everyone!.
I have a Benz A170, W169, year 2005 (Automatic), still running and serviced regularly.
The issue with the car presently, is that when starting (fresh from rest), the transmission is somewhat 'choked' and the drive reduced.
The indication then is 'Transmission..'.
But, once the engine is turned off (obviously) and started anew , after a few minutes, everything works properly. When 'warm', car is ok.
Recently, this has happened more than once during the same journey, after 'fresh' start. Again, after turn-off and turned back on after a few minutes, it worked good!
The fluid level is ok too.
Note that this only happens after 'cold' start. System hot - no problem.
If anyone could comment and share similar experience, it will enable me to understand the issue, please. Many thanks!!!

A good example could be a Transformer.
The stator compensates for the energy loss just like coils do in a transformer.
The coils can be increased or decreased to setup or step down the voltage from input to output of a transformer

gear shift speed of modern torque converter automatics became as quick as dual clutch. even performance cars like BMW M series cars are now using torque converter now. they stopped using unreliable dual clutch.
Absolutely. Even koenigsegg trusted a torque converter for its super car Ragera. But day to day cars won’t of course get faster TCS for obvious reasons.

I understood this. But none of the videos online explains how gear ratios are maintained. Even stator is not the gear I think. Can someone help me with any such videos?

Good video... However you have not explained how the gears work in torque converter. How do the gears go from 1st to 2nd, 3rd & so on in torque converter. You have not explained that part.

I think the last piece of the puzzle is still unclear - how does torque converter help in gear shifting. I heard somewhere that there is a planetary gear box and TC is just like a clutch? Can you elaborate.

I bought my 2019 Creta 1.6 SX AT, which was almost at the end of its production, for precisely this reason. I knew from the news that the next gen 2020 creta was going to ditch the TC for CVT/DCT. The 6 speed TC is buttery smooth, esp. in B2B traffic and acceleration is great from stand still...
Is it similar to the current 1.5 Brezza which has 6 speed TC?… so is it better than the Hyundai offerings of venue or Creata which has DCTs?? Mainly from the Auto gear perspective..looking at reliable and lags
The one in the Hyundai is made by Hyundai, but the one in the 2022 Brezza is an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter. While the 2019 Creta petrol offers 122 bhp @ 6400 rpm and 151 Nm @ 4850 rpm, compared to the Brezza's 102 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 137 Nm @ 4,400 rpm, so I guess both the TCs maybe a lot different too.. Each gear box has its P&Cs , it comes down to while the DCTs maybe quicker compared to TCs, reliability is to be seen. TCs are generally no nonsense gearboxes and hence are widely used across the automotive spectrum. if you drive sedately and judiciously, TCs may just last long enough...
