The way of explaination is so good. Your voice and actions keeps the viewers engaged. But I expected more technicality as I am an Automotive Engineering grad. The first point you mentioned is absolutely true but it should have been carry forwarded. Due to high compression ratio, the piston in Diesel engine has to move more as compared to Petrol engine of same capacity. This movement is compensated by a longer arm which connects the Piston and crankshaft. And as you know Torque= Force * Arm length. Even if you generate same force, The diesel has longer arm which accounts for more Torque. Also , due to more energy density the force produced by burning of Diesel is also more than Petrol. In short. Torque produced is more in Diesel engine of same capacity. But the Power is more in Petrol Engine. Because of shorter arm length which makes the Crankshaft to complete one rotation much faster than in longer armed Diesel Engine. Power = T * Rpm Since Rpm is higher in petrol it gives more power.
Very easy to understand . My dad has been a truck driver for 30 years and i showed this video and several other videos of icn to him and he was able to understand it very easily.
Great video 👍 One more reason for more torque is that diesel has more complex hydrocarbon compounds per unit volume as compared to petrol, because of which on combustion it produces more volume of combustion gases, resulting in more thrust.
Bhai aap automobile ke concepts itne effectively batate ho ki samnewala jaldi se aap ki baat ko capture kar leta hai. I like the way you explain concepts. Aap ne mere bahot se doubts clear kar diye hai. Aap bahot acche video banate ho.

Excellent!! Just d way u r explain it in a simplified manner makes it so attention grabbing. I like the fact that you always interrelate your previous episodes and also re-explain them for newbies to catch up quickly. Great Work Bro👍🏻
Another point : Calorific value of diesel is more than petrol, that is more energy is produced by burning diesel as compared to energy produced by burning same amount of petrol.

Gazab bhai...maza aa gaya bahot knowledge mili aaj engine ke baare main...aise informative vidoes ki series ko please continue rakhna😊🙏...it's a request
There is a another reason : Because of longer stroke length of diesel engines, the crank shaft diameter also need to be increased. and we know that Torque = Force x Perpendicular distance here distance is crank radius...and thus torque increases

Thanks Vikas for posting insightful videos in simplified terms. I have a question, why we keep on hearing that diesel engine has higher maintenance costs compared to petrol engine? Just because of higher compression rates?
Nice presentation !! Can you please share some knowledge about low end torque and high end torque with rpm difference..How the value of torque varies with rpm.. Thank you!
i have just started watching your video you have explained it very well because i am a student of last semester i well need it very much for mechanical so thank you sir
Flash point and fire point has nothing to do with torque. The two reasons for higher torque of diesel engine are high compression ratio and higher calorific value of diesel ( i.e diesel will release more energy than same amount of petrol)
So far so good...waho..now as u have said new questions will arise..Is diesel more efficient than petrol..or..Why diesel engines have better mileage than petrol? Please reply.

Hello Vikas sir, Please keep up the good work of explaining us in the most simplest terms. But I still have a doubt that if Diesel engines have high torque which accelerates the vehicle quicker than why do we use petrol engines for racing purpose. One thing known to me is the weight. Is there anything else I should know ?
Apke batane ka tarika bahut hi accha hai. Mai janana chahta hu ko Agr Petrol engine ka compression retio Diesel engine jitna kar diya jaye to kya torque bad jauega petrol engine me?
Uske liye aapko engine ka size badhana padega, cylinders, pistons, valves, injectors badalne padenge. Na ki sirf usse cost badhegi balki size bhi badhana padega engine ka jiska koi matlab nahi. Torque aapko pulling power mein madad karta hai mainly agar load jyada uthana ho ya hilly section mein chalana ho to jyada faydemand hai. Agar mainly flats pe hi chalani hai gaadi to petrol ka sense jyada hai.
By providing more air(more air , more oxygen) which allow to burn more fuel , A supercharger and turbocharger increase flow of air by forcing more air in combustion chamber. I-vtech , vvt , vvti ,vtvt all these technology also help to drawn more air in combustion chamber 😁
@@yashgupta9266 because that time other bikes did not use that much technologies that R15 uses , like , forged piston and connecting rod and water cooling with aluminum cylinder block, abhi in sab ki advantage likhunga to bhoot jyada ho jayega , andR15 v3.0 produce more power because of some more compression , small bump in CC and vtt at cam shaft

So, if a petrol car is producing 82 bhp and diesel producing 100 bhp, should it be equal in performance? Please guide
Your way of explaining is perfect, even a non technical person will also get it easily.
