TSA multitool Guidelines. Its true that a TSA agent is basically only accountable to themselves (and don't always follow their own rules). But this is 100% legal according to their website.
www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/multi-tools#:~:text=Multi%2Dtools%20(multipurpose%20tools),placed%20in%20carry%2Don%20bags.
Just got mine today. All sold out on Amazon. Will certainly purchase more once they are back in stock.
Very cool you were able to work with the manufacturer on it! I think that qualifies you as a for-reals "influencer", not just a RUclipsr pretending to have influence. 🙂 I don't have a need for this tool myself right now, but I am very tempted to get one anyway just to support the bladeless market and encourage more companies to make bladeless tools of various configurations.
Don't kid yourself, this isn't the only thing I've helped with 😉
@@maxlvledc Ooo, sounds like a story! :-)
You are so right! I don't need the crappy blades that these come with. I carry a proper knife. Being TSA friendly, I can let this stay in my travel bag. Thanks for this.
I believe this TSA multitool would not let you down.
Companies need to make more multitools without the blade. Im sure theres plenty of people like me with a dedicated knife they carry already. To be able to travel and still take a mulitool on plane is big thing. Edc carry is even more important when you are in a unfamiliar place imo. Thank you for this video! Been watching you for years and im glad you are staying real instead of pushing useless over priced pocket jewelry (everyday minimalist)
This is awesome! I appreciate your advocacy for mini multi-tools and for TSA-friendly multi-tools! This is everything I want in a mini multi-tool without the blade (generally useless) and can opener.
It's impressive for a manufacturer to really listen to good ideas. Bravo to you and Nextool
Thank you for your recognition. All the best!
I agree with you 100% we need more options like this. If they were able to incorporate tweezers and a pen, it'd be just about unstoppable
got it and would forward to the engineer, let's looking forward to further new multitool.
Add a decent set of tweezers and a toothpick to the next version and Im sold!
Agree im constantly needing tweezers to pluck modified tics off, I carry a set of Mr. Bills but ....
Yes green would be awesome! As a veteran I find myself drawn to green lol! Seems like a really good idea being TSA friendly!
Definitely gonna grab one. The green would've been really nice.
Also perfect for when you live in a Country/State that doesn’t allow you to carry a blade unless you have a reasonable excuse. It lets you have some simple tools and then pick up a pocket knife when you do have a reasonable excuse
I bought 2 of them , next week I am flying from Amsterdam to Berlin and I will test the TSA part, lets see what happens.
I flew with a “knifed out” mt, the leatherman micra, in my checked luggage and nobody really cared. The agent asked to put it into checked after finding it in my cabin luggage. Schiphol to Italy here.
I made it to Berlin without even opening my onboard luggage, no problem so far
And back to Amsterdam trough the gründlich German Airport security without a question in my onboard luggage
I purchased the Nextool Mini Sailor for $9 on Lazada after seeing it featured in your videos. Man do I love it! Great little tool, snappy action, sharp tools, smooth opening, 10/10 for the price

Definitely picking one up, exactly what the market needed. My only suggestion would be to swap the sim tool for an eyeglass screwdriver.
Too thin sadly
One customer use the SIM card tool be an eyeglass screwdriver before, please try if possible for you. And an eyeglass screwdriver for multitool request will forward to our design department, let's looking forward to further multitool.
I have been using Sailor mini on my keychain for at least 1 year. The only thing I feel is missing is the lack of a file. It is needed from time to time. I also don't usually carry a knife unless I go out into the field. I already have it in my car or at home. The small knife on it is very useful for tasks such as opening boxes. Maybe the flat screwdriver could also be used as a box opener, and the sides of the Phillips screwdriver could be filed in a different pattern.
Just ordered one. Thanks. I’m glad at least one company listened to your input.
Great news! For years I have wished more bladeless multitools to appear on the market. And it is not because I don't like knives, quite the opposite.
This allows you to pair your utility tool with a true knife like Spyderco without having the redundant blade on your multitool that you do not need.
Having a knife separate from your utility tool gives you several benefits. First of all, you can use a knife against an object that you hold with your pliers. Secondly, you can easily "remove" the knife funcionality from your edc for a day just by leaving your knife at home, being able to travel by airplane, visit a court etc.
I wish that Victorinox would start to make more bladeless models as well. It would give you so much more freedom in setting up the perfect edc with a dedicated knife.
Nextool is the perfect name for them cause they are changing the game
Thank you for your recognition. All the best!
This is amazing! I just got into the EDC community a few years ago and didn't get a chance to pick up PS squirt or style so being able to pick this up at a budget price is an amazing deal. Appreciate you putting in a lot of thoughts into what would have made it better than the blade version.
I'm getting at least three for my family and maybe a couple for me. Love the tool sir.
Always thought something like this was needed.
It's awesome to see something like this hit the market. Great work, Dom!
It came today, I really like it! I compared to the Dime and the implements are so much easier to get out. I’m just going to mod the plier head slightly for more precision, mod the flat head to work with the Leatherman bit, and glue emery board (which peels right off the backing usually) on the outside for a nail file. I think the scissors are excellent as is. I may try to add an edge to the flat driver for a package opener as the dime has a package opener which would be nice to have at least something sharp to assist in opening things. The wire cutter blows the dime out of the water also. Can’t wait for the potential next iterations. 🎉
Thank you for your support, your idea is so wonderful.
Thank you! I had actually removed the blade from the full Mini Sailor to be TSA compliant, but it was still a bit bulky/heavy for pocket/keychain/travel. This is perfect! Ordered one for me and will probably get getting more for kids/friends/coworkers.
thank you for your recognition. As for the mini sailor, our engineer already try to lower the weight, let's looking forward to it.
Congrats! Great to see you having an impact on the industry! Time to get some for gifts!
Thank you for your support. Now is out of stock, but the second batch already on the way to FBA, just wait about a week then you can order. All the best.
I bought a gerber dime travel a few years ago, after they were discontinued, because I needed something I could fly with. I edc a leatherman wave so it’s obviously a huge difference but it’s been super handy to have with me on trips.
Just a tip to help people out, I always carry it in my pocket through security and I take it out and open every tool to show the tsa agent prior to it going through the x-ray and I’ve never had a problem. In fact, most of the time they thank me for doing that because it saves them time and having to open it ha
I do wish this had a set of tweezers because I’ve found that to be useful on trips more than normal life for some odd reason
I ordered this earlier today wondering why nobody had reviewed it! I’m pumped!
no purchase link? No full name in the title of the video. The video have 5 tools on screen all the time...
This. This all day.
Something happened to the description and it got deleted. Fixed it
@@maxlvledc Thank you for fixing it!
Agreed well done! They need to market it actively... I haven't even heard of the other travel ones you mentioned at the beginning.... otherwise I would've bought one... the only thing I would add is a nail file... and tweezers...I'm really impressed with nextool Bravo!
Ordered one instantly! I've always got a Style PS on my keys because of the exact situations you've described. I carry a separate pocket knife, and it's nice to have my multitool wherever I go and not worry about it, especially because I work at a school. The Styles are a little dinky and would always break on me. I used to just replace them because of the Leatherman teacher discount, but once I heard that they were going to be discontinued, I had all of my broken ones repaired. Now I have a nice little stockpile but needed a replacement for when they all eventually break.
The extra tools on this one are such a useful bonus! The only things I'm missing are the tweezers and the carabiner that allowed for easy removal from my keys. I also hope they do a knifeless mini flagship next. I would also welcome more colors.
After watching your video, I did grab one. Just came in today, and I am impressed. The TSA friendly is a huge plus. With some upcoming trips, this will certainly be part of my carry.
I'm so glad they finally released something like that.
I'm definitely buying one for myself.
And will probably gift several of those to somebody.
Thank you for your contribution and making a change in this sphere 👍
thank you for your recognition. Hoping you would receive soon and enjoy it.
Definitely picking one up my only hope is that they’ll make a way to use bits with it down the line
Just bought two! Exactly what I was after. I have the Dime and Mini Sailor but I wanted something bladeless I could confidently take anywhere. And I definitely don't need a can opener. A file would be nice though. Even a rubbish one is better than nothing if you take a chunk out of your nail and need to quickly smooth it out.
This is outstanding! I have a few grandkids that are going to be getting one of these very soon!
Thank you very much for your support. If any problem with the multiool after you received, just let me know. All the best.
The fact he isn’t making anything off the tool. Shows that he did it purely for the benefit of the community that is really respectable.
Let's be clear, I make about 3% from Amazon commissions. I don't want ppl to get the wrong idea.
I SO wish someone would make a dedicated folding shear, something like a slimmed down Roxon S501 without the knife blade. Scissors only (and a pocket clip). I think Nextool is well positioned to make something like that. I use scissors about twice as often as I use my folding knife and I’ve never seen a purpose built EDC-focused pocket scissor.
For the original, I had an idea, the base of the combo tool should be a nail file, ditch the bottle opener, and keep the can opener at the top cuz you never know when you might need it, but a bottle there's tons of ways you can open!
Or the whole thing should be nail file, and it would be perfect, I can't tell you how many victorinox models I ditched because non had a nail file, 2-3-4 layer models having everything but a simple nail file!
Spoilers...depending on success of this...I'm trying to convince them to add a stick on nail file to the back side of philips
@@maxlvledc That would be amazing, right now I'm trying to mod my mini sailor to add a scalpel holder, if they could even do that by default that would be above perfect!!
I'll also try to make custom resin scales, of course glow in the dark because I love that!
Or you can combine this with the Victorinox Cadet, it's perfect.
@@maxlvledc And thanks for your implication and work with the manufacturer, it means a lot knowing that they really listen to the feedback!
I've been obsessed with multi tools since I was a kid when I saw someone show off a multi tool and amazed me when they showed scissors in that tool, since then I've been hunting for something similar, but I couldn't find anything like it until Victorinox started appearing in local shops and got my first Classic SD and I was finally satisfied!
If Nextool starts implementing all the basic tools that made my first Vic purchase so special, a nail file along what it already has, maybe even custom tools because it's so easy to mod, that would be beyond factastic!
It could even beat that new modular multi tool for me, because I prefer small tools like the Mini Sailor!
Thank you for this, a much needed tool on the market👍🏽
Exactly what I've been looking for, Thanks. Here's hoping they become available again soon.
Thank you for your support, the second batch already on the way to FBA, just wait about a week then you can order. All the best.
@@NexTool168 Thanks for the reply and good news
black is universal. exactly the multitool I'm looking for!
Ohhhh!!! I love it!
I'll look at getting one for my son 👍
Thank you for your support.
The closest thing that came to that idea was the Lumintop E05C, but they said they discontinued it - I was emailing them. BUT I also asked them if they plan on upgrading it and adding a type C port and they said "...as far as we know the new E05C with USB-C is under developing. :)" (may be a language barrier there)
I looooved that light...I agree
As someone who flies extensively, I can't even express to you how excited I am by this. And that you were able to collaborate on it to get this good of a tool set is awesome! Mine are on order and I can't wait to retire my last Style PS before it gets lost or worse.
Thank you for your support, I believe that NexTool TSA multitool would not let you down. All the best.
3 in my cart. Thanks, just what I always wished for.
been waiting for this one to launch, glad I snagged one before the first run sold out. I hope they sell this to oblivion and it creates huge market pressure for bladeless keychain-sized multitools
Scissor main tool version?
Also there is no link in the description atm.
Fixed
This is excellent! I’m going to get myself one for sure!!
TSA mini sailor pliers Lite already available, you can check and buy as you need.
Bought the Nextool with the scissors being the main, not the wrench...love it
thank you for your recognition.
The shade of green always makes a difference, but I would probably still prefer black. Glad to see your efforts come to fruition! I'll probably pick one up for my son now.
Thank you for your recognition, now the TSA mini sailor is out of stock, but the second batch already on the way to FBA, just wait about a week then you can order. All the best.
Thank you thank you thank you 🙏 🤲 it will complete my bladeless kit!!!
I really like this man. I don’t ever just carry a multitool and not a knife. Always have a knife on me. Plus my son is always interested in my multitools but I never wanted him to mess with them due to the knife/saw. I’m going to get a couple. I love this idea.
Green would look great too!
I've had the Leatherman squirt for like 10 years! It's in my 5th pocket right now. That supreme logo on yours makes it even cooler. But i agree, i never use the knife on it because i carry a dedicated full size folder. Picking up a nextool as an alternate. I also like the model that has the bigger scissors.
thank you for your support, I believe that the TSA mini sailor would not let you down.
Really the one and only thing I'd like to see embraced more in especially the smaller multitools is size 0 phillips
but I'm sure how much of a case I have for that, since it continues to mostly be a thing of electronics
I have the sync and still love it, especially now that I've broken down and joined the people who have a dedicated knife on top of a multitool... so yeah, this is a compelling option!
Looks sweet! really cool that they took your input directly. If it were my perfect one, I'd try to incorporate a little file somewhere, and maybe try to turn that sim card tool into a micro/glasses screwdriver. I'm also a big fan of the package opener on the dime, but you could probably get by with the scissors on this tool instead.
I'd opt for black instead of green too.
This looks perfect. I just ordered one. I’ll try it out with TSA here.
thank you for your support. If any problem with this multitool, just let me know. all the best.
For me, I wish it had a nice nail file, like the kind victorinox uses for their tools.
Ive been searching for a keychain multitool perfect for me. I want to carry just one, tiny tool for the specific uses I have. I want pliers, a knife, scissors and a file in a single tool.
The squirt sounds like exactly what I want, but for obvious reasons, I cant get it. The gerber dime is close, but the lack of useful file is a huge issue.
This item is good, but the lack of file makes me sad.
Good work. Very cool!
Great video. Curious what is your full size multi tool of choice.
Blade less but it has scissors and pliers, the best of both worlds. This is perfect to carry in my Alpaka mini sling.
This looks great! Perfect for giving to my kids so they can feel empowered and prepared.
My son's favorite color is green, so I definitely would have bought one, but I'm sure black will be fine.
I believe that you would love it.
Maybe they could work with Olight on a knife-less travel tool. Include the diamond file from the Otacle P1s and the can/bottle opener tool to finish out the other side. That would be perfect.
I would really like this in orange!
Nice! I'll have to give this Nextool a try.
I bought a Style PS after my luggage took a different plane to Italy, and I had to rip the tag off of a new shirt. I found it so useful that I started carrying it all of the time. The scissor spring broke last year. I've been waiting to see if they come out with some new thing before I send it in for replacement. I'm sure that they would send me back a Micra, and I don't want one of those.
I love these little Multitools. They are perfect for the small additional pocket on your jeans. I like the Nextool Mini Flagship the most. I recently bought Gerber Dime and was a little disappointed. Some tools open easily, others are difficult to open. And the pliers are not very trustworthy for some reason. I'll stick with Nextool and buy the Sailor too. But this red Leatherman also looks incredibly good. It's definitely very difficult to get one like that. Great video!
What happened to the links? Only thing there is merchandise like shirts from your shop. The links were there before.
I don't know what happened, fixed
EDC the Mini Sailor Scissors Daily… it was also easy to take out the knife when I traveled… no issues with TSA… NEXTOOL has the best lineup for pocket friendly tools at the moment IMO… and now they release this version… Thank you for listening to the customers… and reasonably priced. Gonna cop a few. Thanks Max for the persistence and the review.
Thank you for your recognition, we will try best to provide more creative tools to customer.
Thank you for the vid as well as pushing for this with Nextool, whose products I enjoy considerably (except their clunkly Knight model which is knock off shite) My daily carry includes a good knife so I rarely use a multitool for the blade, and TSA has taken so many blades from me in the past. I will carry this when I travel and possibly EDC as well.
Great call on the weight savings by eliminating the blade and can opener. I've owned a small multi for over a year, and I have never used either of those.
I'm going to pick a few of these up, and put them away for Chriatmas gifts. Thanks for helping bring them to market.
Thank you for your recognition, the first batch of TSA mini sailor already sold out, the second batch will arrived after a week, please follow and buy as you need. All the best.
I hope they produce more soon just found this. Starting an EDC set and want it. I love super lite options.
Back now
@@maxlvledc Thanks I ordered it. Excited for it.
Thanks for this review! I've been looking for a TSA-compliant multitool. Wish they offered it in DARK/OD GREEN!
NexTool for the win! Note also: the adapter in their bit kit (I got mine with the Light Wrench W2 and Black Wrench) fits onto the Victorinox in line Phillips! There's a little play side to side but not much. And no play while turning. What's more, that NexTool adapter fits regular 1/4" bits as well as the Steinwhale small double sided bits perfectly! Wiha double sided and Leatherman also seat, but I haven't tested how they work IRL. There is a little play with the Leathermans. The hex end 711L ratchet works perfectly of course, and the Leatherman end 711L ratchet seats too but with a little play. Bottom line, the Nextool bit adapter + Steinwhale bit kit and extender are MUST haves for those who carry Victorinox's with the in line Phillips (found on magnifying glass and flashlight models). The hex end 711L ratchet would be very nice to have as well.
Very nice, thank you 👍
Loved my Esquirt (with the wire stripper), used it a lot. Sadly lost after they were discontinued.
whne i was about 12 years old the first multitool i got was a Victorinox.. of course after watching MacGyver... now i carry a Gerber Dime with me al the time. i would have really loved something like that for when i was younger...
Will definitely be picking one up as soon as its got fast shipping!
It did, but I think sold out now.
@@maxlvledc The second batch already on the way to FBA and would be available after a week. All the best.
Waiting for this to come to Canada!!
Check ali express
I like it a lot! A version I'd prefer, however, would be more expensive because I'd like it to have a nail file and a flashlight. The flashlight is less important than the file because I can just add a tiny flashlight to the keyring. But it really needs a fingernail file. And one that works, not one like Gerber put on their Dime. As for my dream version, it would add a retractable pen. Sort of like a blending of Victorinox's Midnite Manager and NexTool's Mini Sailor. But I know that would get much more expensive and complicated. All that said, I've added this item to my Amazon wishlist and will be getting it soon! Thanks for helping NexTool bring us something I believe there's demand for.
Maybe just carry a classic sd vic as well?
@@strikenryken The Classic SD has a knife, so not TSA friendly. On my keys I currently carry the Victorinox Manager most of the time and have a Leatherman Style PS for travel. I don't want two multi-tools on my keys.
And btw, deploying these scissors tends to break fingernails, so that's all the more reason to have a file. lol
A dark olive green or FDE would have been an awesome color to have. Something a Lil different.
Just brought one!!😊
Wow thank you for your effort! It'd be great to add a file nail, and maybe tweezers.
i already have the scissors sailor... but this one would be perfect for travelling
Exactly, you can try one and if any problems, just let us know, we are always for your better soluction.
I have mini flagship in green, it's dope! We need that colour on sailor.
already record it, let's looking forward to other color lauched.
Greatly appreciated. I'm definitely getting one of these and its in my Amazon shopping cart. Unfortunately I can't order it just yet because..... I'm traveling oversease and it won't arrive until after we leave, so will need to wait until I get back. How ironic! I'll be taking my Victorinox Jetsetter this trip. 😁
i loved the leatherman squirt! i still use a special radio shack branded one with wire strippers that's super handy around the house. i think a pretty safe thing to hand a kid is the victorinox classic SD--but i feel like pliers are just such a useful tool to carry so this solution is super cool.
IMO nothing is more dangerous than that stupid 58mm vic blade.. I've cut myself soo badly multiple times because of the lack of detent and small handle. I would always rather hand a child a proper knife with instruction than a slip joint.
@@maxlvledc yeah, the small handle thing is a blessing and a curse, it fits pretty good in child hands, but you would have to wrap the handle or do something else to keep it safe for adolescent/adult hands. honestly, the safest thing for kids is to learn on a good fixed blade with a sheath, i think, no need to worry about play or accidental closing on fingers.
Do you know when it will be available on Amazon?
id love like an od green version
Victorinox will be coming out with more bladeless models soon which will work for the non plier crowd as well.
Fantastic to see a bladeless multi tool. Would be a great product for the uk where carrying any type bladed article can be a grey area of the law. Have been searching for something like this for edc and as you say, most bladeless tools have been discontinued
I’d be getting one rn if it came out in teal or dark green
Great informative video. How about bright orange? Easy to find, easy to see it’s a non-lethal tool.
I carry in my EDC a Vixtorinox cadet+ victorinox jetsetter, this would be perfecto to replace the jetsetter, but I need the tweezers.
Basically the plier is a large robust tweezer. Especially if you modify the tip slightly
I like this idea, but I just want to say the gerber dime is great when fishing. It's just about everything you need from a tool and hangs easy off a lanyard or string.
They have to make it in green! My wife’s favorite color is green.
4:31 I’m very curious about the sim extraction tool. Is that a country specific thing that you would want that? I would think that any person (kid or adult) would use that once a year. and now everything is esim, so very soon no one would use it? Maybe it has other purposes? All the best. Nice tool, cool video. (I’m from Denmark)
Just bought the last one currently available on Amazon (through your link of course).
You are so lucky. Any problems for this multitool further, just let me know, hoping you enjoy the wonderful day.
Id love green!
This tool is looking great! I think another thing that would make it less intimidating is to have a little color. Instead of a military green for an alternative version, make it red or something a little brighter (speaking as someone who used to be a knife enthusiast 9 year old girl myself)
The tool looks great, I still wouldnt travel with it. TSA is a joke, they have zero training, and there is zero consistency. I've had a gerber shard confiscated, absolutely mind boggling. There is no such thing as TSA friendly.
