- I was surprised that I wasn't stopped a single time with this EDC kit. The Atomic Bear pen and Nitecore NW5000 powerbank didn't cause any issues at all! What would you have added? Was this excessive?

I think you forgot to stuff a parachute in there.
I knew I was forgetting something.
@@FittoSurvive 6'9 320 HERE...SMALL PENS ( THIN I GUESS) DONT WORK WITH MY HANDS. NEED A THICKER PEN. THIS THICKER THAN A BICK?

(THE BEAR)
@@BOOSTEDLASER Yes, it is definitely thicker than a Bic and it is very grippy.
My thoughts exactly lol
I laughed so hard when I read this comment!!
My carry on always has a pair of tube socks and a baseball. It gets through TSA 100% of the time without question. It makes for a formidable improvised weapon just in case! Among other similar items you have. I used to fly with a SOG key knife, but after about 12 or 13 flights one of the TSA agents figured it out. I also have had a fantastic tactical pen taken away. It had an exposed glass breaker tip, that was the issue! They didn't make a fuss about either, they just take them away and let you go about your business.
I love my SOG key knifes bummer TSA caught on. I have one in of those keys everywhere my car, my bugout and multiple edcs.
Recommendation, place a couple of Sharpies next to your tactical pen. I travel with one a bit more aggressive looking and have it next to Sharpies. Never hada a problem to include international flights.
The last time I flew, they took my mostly non-metallic “tactical” pen. TSA advised me that “tactical pens” are not allowed. I’m now going with a metal drafting mechanical pencil, as well as a good writing pen. Will they nix the pencil? Who knows, but it is NOT a “tactical” looking device. But remember, John Wick killed three men with a pencil! 😂 Oh! And a U.S. Army ranger killed a man with a MRE spoon… RLTW!
Excellent kit !
I can't believe the little pouch has metal zippers ! That's totally unique !
That tiny Scrabble is crazy, I've never seen that size !!
Thanks! It's a great pouch.
Yeah, the Scrabble is... fun size. 😂
I would give you the advice to use a blister pack for your painkillers, loose tablets without a label may get you body cavity search.
You could use the Fresnell lense to see the letters on the scrabble game.
😂👍🏻👍🏻 There you go.
You could also use it for a coaster.
I suggest you add some antidiarrheal (Imonium) and a mild laxative.
Good idea especially when traveling.
Add 2 doggy bags rolled up for trash, 2 handi wipes (1 per flight) for wiping down your tray/table, replace one of those pens with a slim pack of travel playing cards, a couple of toothpicks, a couple sticks of gum, and a few zip ties for subduing unruly passengers.
Did you watch the video? There were 2 sticks of chewing gum in the kit.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a good flight.
Thank you.
Great video! Glad you were able to bring your pen on the flight. Thanks for the follow up video by the way!
Thanks. I was glad it passed too.
No any silencing arplugs for sleeping? Eye sleeping mask? Any relatively big paper napking to use as a leg cover during a meel?
I would definatelly try to reduce kit size down to footprint of your passport with more o less same thikness you already have:
- replace marker by Swiss Card Nailcare (and may be get rid of frozenal lens card)
- replace flashlight by any AAA-size flashlight
- remove titan cord (kevlar string would solve any lacing task that you would be able to face in airplane)
- move glu to you luggedge (sticky tapes could temporary solve everything in airplane, and glu should be kept to use in more spacious and controlable conditions)
PS I assume that on top of the kit you have whatever kind reusable water bottle with you
I didn't bring either of those, they typically provide them on the plane.
Thanks for your thoughts!
I've had a Swiss Card confiscated domestically....
@@kenwood245 what model of the swiss card it was?
I'm flying in few days so I appreciate more of these tsa approved edc
Awesome! Glad to help you out. 👍🏻👍🏻
The mini scrabble is awesome, i have a pack of survival playing cards with info on each one
Thanks, that's a cool idea.
Thank you for sharing your video. Love the first pen. It looks easy to hold. I have arthritis in both hands (thanks to my parents). Love the mini Scrabble game. I made an airplane carry pouch with necessities. I might have to make a slightly smaller pouch. Have a nice day. 😊
I would've given you 50/50 on the pen, nice that they let you through.
Ditto mate
I was a bit nervous going through security. 😅
I hope I get my Smolder pouch one of these days soon. I've had one on order for 3 weeks now and there has been some hiccup in the shipping. I have the RF Dagen backpack and love it so much I had to get the matching pouch.
Besides the pen and the notebook... We all have mobile phones... Great kit.
I feel like those pens take up way too much space. For flashlight, you can go smaller. Yeah I get it's the Arkfeld but I don't get the hype about it; takes up a bit of volume and has a lot of features I personally didn't find as valuable as opposed to something smaller. While the titanium permanent marker is cool I'd opt for something shorter in length. For the Sugru I'd just bring a tiny cannister, pinky sized crazy glue. Imo just doing these alone would shrink everything to fit in something much smaller. But I'm very much r/onebag in my approach.
Yeah, some of the items were a bit excessive perhaps. 😅👍🏻 Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
sugru isoften used for travel...fixing the end of fraying usb cables, zip pulls etc....
Very interesting kit! Love your custom saks! Y not make yourself a completely flight friendly one? Keep the videos coming!
Thanks!
I actually wanted to put together a bladeless SAK to fly with, but ran out of time.
As youve got usb C to usb C cable, you could replace the olight, and the power bank with a flashlight that acts as a powerbank, the sofirn IF23 for example,
Some really great tips here that I’ll incorporate in to my every day. Deff some things I’d omit to have smaller on a plane. Also suggest getting a small spray bottle of hand sanitizer (liquid not gel kind) - don’t wanna feel like I’m saving it for an emergency, plus the liquid kind generally smells so much better and could double for aftershave in a pinch.
Nice kit mate.Everything you need unless the plane goes down and you have to survive. Thanks TSA.
Just to let you know, it's not Fresnell, it's pronounced FreNELL. He was a French scientist.
Thanks!
Oh, sure enough, one of those moments when phonetics fails you. 😂
I use a large heavy duty ziplock bag to throw all the little stuff in, but I would separate the gears and put them in smaller ziplock bags before throwing them in the large ziplock bag. Then large ziplock would then go into a 100% cotton drawstring bag.
Soap sheet?! Cool. Just ordered half dozen containers of it
Nice, glad i could help.
The Victorians called them "soap leaves."
Every flight carry core essentials:
Concentrate mouthwash
Microfiber towel
Large body wash towelette
Dude wipes
Benadryl
Alcohol wipes
Condiment packets (mayo, mustard, hotsauce, sweet & sour sauce)
In this way you can deal comfortably with delayed flights, sleep issues, personal hygiene, and poor food. The emergencies most common in a air travel situation.
Where did you get the little plastic bags that fit the soap sheets so perfectly?
Good question... I don't even remember where I found them. 😅
Cody maybe skip that olight and consider bringing a light that has a red light function. So you can use at night on plane and not disturb other passengers
It has a moonlight feature that’s really not that bright and works for looking through your bag without disturbing other passengers.
Hey! Safetec first aid ointment!👍 I used to work there! ty for buying american 👍
He used 2 items out of that whole bag. Standard travel doesn’t require a “go bag”. Everything in that bag is offered in the airports, on flight and destination. He packed like he’s going to a war zone.
He is a prepper
You never know where or when you'll get stuck. More options are better than fewer, and this takes up very little space overall.
Any powerbank under 26800mAh is airline approved. Some say 27000, but check first, because that might differ.
This is quite the hodge-podge of stuff! I'm not certain about your goal - if your EDC is meant for convenience items you may want access to while on the plane or if it will aid in a light survival situation. If traveling international, have a copy of passport, IDs and travel itinerary in multiple places in case one is stolen. I'll assume you have music on your phone. That scrabble game is about useless but about the same size would be a pack of cards.
I'd really like to know what the other bag at the beginning was, the "cap" one.
Here it is: amzn.to/4bRWboN
@@FittoSurvive Thank you! Always looking for interesting travel pouches!
good travel load out
Thank you!
Great content. Love the Nightcore device. I did have to slow the playback on your video down to 75% to understand your very fast speech. Cheers
What sorts of flights are you taking to need all that? 🤔
In my experience especially traveling internationally, I take things that don’t look so “tactical” anymore. In the states I’ve had things that are “tsa approved” taken away as well as sometimes things are allowed to go thru only to find that another country won’t allow it. In all honesty it’s generally up to the agent and if they are having a good day or not to let things thru, and after sitting on a plane for 8-10 hours , I don’t feel like going over the intricacies of why things are allowed or not with the agents. Case in point, my 40 in 1 card tool . I’ve traveled with that thing in my wallet for many years but all of a sudden one year it was taken away because the one edge corner which was a flathead screwdriver was deemed to be a “sharp” object. 🤷♂️ this happened japan btw and despite having gone thru security several times before ,this particular day it wasn’t happening, good luck explaining to them how American TSA said it was good to go. And just to point out the randomness of it, my friend who also had the same item on him was standing on a different line and was allowed to go thru with it.
Where's you get that scrabble game?
2 pen! Great 👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Cool kit. The food tabs are interesting I always carry Nature Valley Granola bars. Small light and do the job.
Thanks! I like those granola bars too. 👍🏻👍🏻
for me its swizzles love hearts mini packets of sweets, and biscoff biscuits mini packet.....i think the munchies are the most used part of my edc after multi tool/flashlight
Did the Tread pass through the tsa ?
Yes, forgot to mention that in the video. I've flown internationally with the Leatherman Tread over 5 times. Never had any issues with it.
When the SHTF, you ain't gonna be flyin' anywhere,
& neither will I. I'm gonna be hunkering down.
☮️💖🌻
Did you have any problems with TSA?
None at all 😊
I advise an RFID sleeve for your passport to prevent skimmers
Each member of my family has an Atomic Bear tactical pen. My daughter flies a lot and keeps it with other pens in a pouch. As for gum, I remember a TSA agent telling a friend to either throw a pack in the trash or chew it. The reason was it could be plastic explosive formed into the shape of gum. I created a passport cover at Zazzle with an imaginary country to camouflage my US Passport when I am traveling. Also, I have had things pass through only to be taken the next time. Like many of the comments, you should make everything look inconspicuous.
Paranoia it will annoy ya!
One word for international travel--Imodium!
That is a good idea. 😅
Are you flying to Kiev mate? 😂 Great video anyways!
Lol, not this trip 😉thanks
I’m surprised you don’t have a super killer custom Bladless flyable Victorinox pocket knife if I would expect anyone to have something like that, it would be you.
I was actually going to put together a really simple bladeless SAK to fly with, but I ran out of time before I was to fly.
For a powerbank why not a solar powerbank? In case you are stranded on an island? You have power for your phone.
You'd need a fairly large solar panel to get a decent amount of charge.
As far as powerbanks go many countries have restrictions on mAh or watt hours(USA 100 wh max). You should be safe with 10000 mAh everywhere but 5000 plenty for most people and good travel size. I've had power banks confiscated for not showing the mAh on it(was faded) and also in China for being over 10000 mAh years ago. Strongly recommend buying one that can do wiresless charging and wired charging.
That battery pack doesn’t seem big enough for a 23h flight, especially with any heavy use.
Hey man - where to buy that nice pouch? Couldn’t find a link😉
Hey, here's the link: www.roaringfiregear.com/product-page/smolder-waxed-canvas-organizer-pouch
And you thought the scrabble was unnecessary!??
Nearly all this stuff is madness for a flight.
Now the TSA KNOWS THIS IS A WEAPON! Doubt it will pass inspection now.
I'll be flying back internationally on Monday. So, we'll find out.
@@FittoSurvive let us know, curious. I did an international round trip last July, no real issues with TSA.
Dump the scrabble, just bring a deck of cards.
Are you on speed?
😅 LOL. I do have a habit of talking too fast.
Don’t think that’m ballistic pen is going to make it onto a plane with you.
You be surprised
It made it through without any problems
Great video but tbh I really don't see the need for most of this. I literally travel for a living and have never needed the majority of what's listed. RUclips is notorious for giving solutions to problems no one has.
If you came to Australia you'd lose the pens, Olight, paracord and all unmarked/unsealed tablets, maybe more :(
Just don’t point the laser at the cockpit😂
😂👍🏻👍🏻 Good way to get in trouble...
Отличный набор Друг! 👍
Спасибо
Where are you flying to? Yemen? Afghanistan?
You going to have to use the DNA pen on yourself for when the plan go's down bro lol
Overall good choices but here are things to consider:
I use the Rayvon E8 for flying because it's compact, and its dim red light won't disturb others on the plane when I need to search for something with the lights off.
For cleaning up, I prefer the KLean Freak towel and dry soap. Additionally, I always carry Melatonin tablets for long flights, never use them but have them with other meds. I away travel with some hydration mix like Liquid IV or LMNT; they help me drink more water. I also have a collapsible water bottle.
I use my Bose earbuds I need something to quiet the engine drone.
I've noticed that wireless charging tends to lose about 20% more of its charge compared to cable charging. You did not mention any type of power cord, most international flights have power by the seats.
Airlines typically don't allow power banks exceeding 25,000 mAh.
While a notepad is handy, sticky notes are even more useful for things like long flights, especially for leaving notes for others you are travelling or planning tasks for when you wake up. The tasks are on the tray or seatback.
This was a, in case we crash kit. LOL.
Lol I guessed 99% of the items never used it!😅
Some items were rather excessive. But depending on what you carry, sometimes you hope to never need the items you carry. It's like a concealed carry, you carry it even if you don't have to protect yourself or your family every day.
EDC plane bag LOL. I think the only useful thing you could bring is a parachute, which wont fit inside this bag.
Whenever you get to the country you’re visiting make sure and go to the grocery and pick up a pioneer woman pairing knife…. Cheap, easy to throw away and sharp and will get the job done, and don’t have to fly with it
Make sure to carry the flashlight on your person.
i know for fact you didn't fly from zurich airport. that tacpen would have NEVER passed the security -gorillas- check-guys.
also they'd confiscated a few of your "liquid stuff", in LSZH (ZRH) they ... totally still act on the 5 times 100 mililiter-conventions (while it was found out 100ml are already enough to ...well make the plane outside any runway). ;-)
Nope, not Zurich. I flew through Istanbul's airport though.
@@FittoSurvive yeah they shall be kinda relaxed i heard. (hope they still are when i'll be there - but with my "luck" ;)
@@michaelkeller5008 Yeah, any time you go through airport security, it requires some "luck".
Boeing 737?
I think it was a 777. But I may be wrong.
Thats some kit, i would've thought the tac pen and cordage might be at risk but good luck.
I'd take some headphones, a paperback, maybe a magazine. And a fresh t- shirt & change of underwear 😅
Loving those mini toothbrush 🪥
Yeah, I was concerned about the tactical pen, didn't expect to have trouble with the cordage.
I’ve taken a tube sock and a roll of quarters through TSA with no issues. String is nothing to them.
@FittoSurvive maybe it's the UK airport security. I saw a guy get stopped because they didn't like the t-shirt he was wearing!
Dude wipes
Yeah, Dude Wipes are better than the wet wipes from Turkish Airliners. That's for sure. LOL
Check the ingredients....your benedryl might be the same as dramamine
Very interesting. I'll have to check that out.
FYI, it’s pronounced “Fur-Nell”lens
a basic over pack of un used items. Yes passport pen glasses. Yes benadryl tylenol . No to survial food tabs they suck. Yes to power cord and battery. Yes but not shown airline adapter of ear buds to headset no use for.Mini scrabble ropes cords pens to break glass ?
С праздником!
Спасибо!
Small note: The Fresnel lens is pronounced with a silent S....and spoken like fray-NEL, from the French engineer/physicist who developed it. I also find it interesting that you're presenting your EDC carry for flying without having flown with it yet. It would be much more helpful to the rest of us if you'd first try flying with it and THEN make your presentation. This video is more of a "what I'd LIKE to have in my flying EDC kit".
Yes, I stand corrected. I knew that and still mispronounced it.
I recorded the main part of the footage before my flight. But assembled the video and posted it after the flight. You can see the gear on the plane at 13:25
You can't carry meds that way in Europe and overseas Airlines.
You are right: Overkill!
Lots of useless junk for one flight.
😂 I know... I should have just brought a Petzel. 😉 J/K
Or even some pretzels 🤣
That small bag will not fit any kind of cellphone and cellphones are a necessity and part of everyone’s EDC and why do you need to carry multiple pens? Medicines, survival tabs, towels, sewing kit, soap towels, glue, mini scrabble? Are you kidding me? Those things are not EDCs can be found anywhere in the airport and in the plane
Nope, I keep my phone in my front pocket.
I carried one pen and one marker.
There are some scenarios where they would be needed. I get it, not everyone would carry the same gear.
What would you carry on a airplane?
@FittoSurvive I will definitely carry very basic EDC things while on travel specially by Plane, namely; my Cellphone ,my passport, travel docs and IDs, my wallet, Credit Cards (im not on ApplePay), a small torch, noice canceling ear buds, a small notepad, single working pen, modified Swiss army knife (knife removed of course) single USB PD Cable and sunglasses that's it, others will just go to my check in luggage
Flying these days blows
Shows stuff that has not even been through security succesfully, yeah not of much use. Bye
13:23 I show the items on the plane.
All junk.
What would you carry on a plane?
Book, phone, power bank. Eye mask, toothbrush, painkillers. Moisturiser, lip balm. Snacks.
