Wow! Is good to go back to the basics and then realized that EDC is not about expensive items is about useful items.
It's too easy to get caught up with what everyone else is doing. Sometimes we need to check ourselves and ask why.
Thank you for checking out the video!! 🙏🙏
I love that the cash didn't cost you anything because you "haven't spent it yet"! 😊
It's what I keep telling myself so I can sleep easy at night. 😂😂
Lol so true 😂
You could also "waterproof" your phone contacts/medical records card by wrapping it in clear box tape -- and that's probably already hiding in the junk drawer too.
Fantastic idea!!
Cotton in the chapstick is a great idea. Great topic!
Thank you sir! Feel free to run with it. 😁
used to carry extra small condoms also
What a refreshing point of view! To complete the ironic comparison to $200 knife channels I think you should provide the links to Walmart and Dollar Store so we can source these items.
Thank you very much!! 🙏🙏 The best I can do is link the waterproof wallet.

I always roll my eyes at channels that talk about "everyday carry" and they're showing off $100+ titanium screwdrivers or silliness like that. This is more of what I think of when I think of EDC. Stuff you've got on hand, or that can be found anywhere that just help you get through the day. Nothing super fancy, nothing super expensive so that if it gets lost/stole/broken it's not a big deal.
Truthfully, I like my "$100 titanium toys". But I do realize that's really all they are, they are toys. The price tag isn't going to get you through the day any easier.
My edc kit is in a pill bottle - cards don’t fit but the other stuff does; tape and cord wraps around the outside. I have a separate smaller bottle stuffed with toilet paper, enough for 3-4 uses, because that particular need occurs more frequently than pretty much anything else that I’m prepared for.
I love the way you roll. 😂😂 Toilet paper is 100% a necessity. I've been thinking of making a pill bottle EDC video. You may have inspired me to do so.
In a cheap, plastic, zippered coin purse - contact card, magnifying credit card found at a dollar store, 2 bandaids, pain killers, tiny nail file and tweezers from an old nail care kit, tooth floss picks, cough drop, eyeglass cleaner wipes, tiny packet of sugar and coffee stirrer from a coffee shop, 2 elastic bands (from asparagus bundles), 2 twist ties, tiny tube of super glue from a craft set, 2 antibacterial wipes, eyeglass replair kit with a little screwdriver and tiny screws, rolled up piece of duck tape.
I like your style!! All very great items for EDC.
This is a great reminder that I don't NEED a new knife or new gear. I just WANT it. 😊 I lost my Leatherman T4 this past weekend and don't think I'll bother with replacement.
Ooofff. That's a hard one to swallow. Last summer, I threw a bag of micro tools away. I was beating myself up for weeks. I did end up finding it but it was still painful. 😂😂
Great idea for a video! It's not always the shiny, expensive tools that'll do the job.
Somehow the shiny stuff always stays shiny. What does that say about the tool?
Simple, Chums Surf Shorts wallet that is RFID, attaches your keys, has a little pocket for your fob or cards/I.Ds/ security badge that you need handy, two zippered pockets the long way, one with an I..D window & a separated section for cards/credit cards/I.D.s. Turn it upside down the long way and you have another zippered pocket big enough for dollar bills folded in half AND still fit your medication for the day & a band aid if that's what you want. It is attached to a key ring where I also attach an Olight mini & a Victorinox Classic small pocket knife. The light, the keys, & knife can fit in the pocket meant for the fob. All slips easily in your front pocket and you can't see it from the ourside.
I am a huge fan of Chums and their surf shorts wallets. All great stuff!
Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA
Good ideas - I always like to add a safety pin where I can.
Usually attached to a piece of clothing (under a shirt pocket flap) or pinned to another item I carry.
Many handy uses.
Love that idea and I love the great state of Maine. It has been too long since I've been there though.
This is what EDC is really all about. The basics that are essential. I carry some of what's mentioned here and some of my more expensive stuff. Maybe it's time to really rethink EDC philosophy and carry essentials only. Thanks for the great video.
Thank you for watching! I think there is still room for the more expensive stuff but we have to remember why we carry it all.
@@SurvivingtheDaily We shouldn't lose sight of that
That waterproof wallet is exactly what I've been looking for.
Wanted something for holding thin/card size stuff, but didn't want to use a card sleeve or flimsy wallet insert.
You're not the only one that has been looking for something like this. A lot of people have inquired. I'm just happy to have helped.
There's a huge advantage to cheap boxcutters. You can toss them if you need to and you're out maybe a buck.
Good thinking!! It won't hurt to toss it in the trash or lose it.
Ooo, you just gave me a great idea on what to do with small beef jerky bags after i finish the good stuff...
Now I like where this is going!! Make sure you share with the rest of the class.
This a fantastic EDC thank you for showing that you do not need to break the bank with an EDC!
Great Point! I like being able to see in the dark or inspect a dark spot(and not step on a Lego) or open a package -- my EDC saves me time on a daily basis. That's why I have my essentials.
That's why everyone's EDC is different. It's all personal and tailored to our needs.
Great stuff ,this what EDC is about and not buying the coolest and latest (expensive) most guys present at youtube.
Thank you!! 🙏🙏 I try not to always be one of those guys.
I'm definitely going to implement that cotton-in-the-lid trick. Cheers
Wow! I'm excited that you and others appreciate that idea. Thank you! 🙏🙏
Great video! I love that you got back to basics. You could also add, from my house anyway, a handkerchief, duct tape, tweezers.
Thank you Anne!! Those are some more great ideas!
Vine Climber, I'm shocked that you'd carry a separate tweezers when everyone here knows you always have one in your Swiss army knife.
The coolest EDC items that i have ever seen on youtube!
Wow!! That's some seriously high praise. Thank you!! 🙏🙏
thats what an edc must be: USEFUL! very nice ideas, thanks
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it.
Great list! I have my emergency info (mother, siblings) on a dog tag necklace, very practical. As well as on paper in other places.
But blood group is completely unnecessary, there's simply no way anyone will ever transfuse blood based on your self-reported blood group. If you have the ability to transfuse other types than O- you will have the ability to type blood (a very simple process, comparatively). Same goes for patches displaying your blood type or whatever it might be.
Very good to know about the blood type. Not to mention, we're living in the information age. The hospitals know more about us than we realize.
@@SurvivingtheDailydrug allergy is more important than blood type.
@@mitchellatwood4865 another good point!
Add a few fish hooks to sewing kit & water purification tablets.
Great ideas!!
Add a few yards of powerbraid/dyneema fishing line. The world's best mending thread!
I will check it out!! Thank you!
Great video, to the needles and thread i would add one or two Buttons. If some of your Buttons come loose it can be bad.
Excellent idea, thank you! And thank you for watching!
I've read somewhere its good to carry a picture of your family so you can show the picture to people and ask if they have seen "this person" if you need to look for them in an emergency.
That's a fantastic idea. And we cannot easily rely on our phones for that in every situation.
I do like your on the fly kit. I would add a small plastic pill box with Aspirin, Ibuprofen, bandage, exacto blade, ear plugs, and alcohol wipe. Weighs nothing and disappears into the fifth pocket.
Simple yet necessary items!! Thank you for the suggestions.
Sharpie is life! Love it man, also the idea about the cotton ball in the top of the chapstick...freaking ingenious! Great video as always. And all in one take, noice!
Thank you my friend! Got it right on the 20th time. 😂😂
1:35 Maybe it’s different in America, but I stopped having birthday candles by about my 10th birthday, as do, I imagine, most UK kids do!🤔🤣😂
We are obsessed with our birthdays. So yeah, 47 years old and I had candles on my cake. 😂
I’m in the UK and we still have candles on birthday cakes, only not as many candles as to number of years 😂🎂
I’m in the US and I haven’t had birthday candles since I was a kid. I also have never in my life purchased a bic lighter.
Fantastic concept. Great idea for anyone thinking about what they want/need to carry.
Exactly right! I don't tell people what they should carry. I try to get them thinking about carrying what they have and may need though.
you're so funny! "I haven't spent it yet"! The cotton with the Chapstick is a good idea too. I have a little address book keychain for numbers, it's old, and looks kinda like a rolodex.
That's a great idea keeping the phone numbers on your key chain!!
Good points!!! Thanks for the emergency #s!!
It's something no one ever thinks about. Personally, if I didn't have them written down and I lost my phone..... I'd be up a creek.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you Joe!!
Awesome vid, man. Love it!
Thank you Ken!! 🙏🙏
Thanks for this video. Good ideas .
Thank you!! Much appreciated.
Great etc! You gave me a couple ideas to improve mine!
That's all I can hope for! Thank you for watching.
Good job, I would recommend you put some gorilla tape around your lighter, pencil etc. you can also use the tape as tinder.
I have definitely been converted to a gorilla tape guy over duct tape. Unfortunately I didn't have any at the time of shooting the video and I wanted to stay true to it all being free.
In my keys I also carry a titanium toothpick (inexpensive), a keychain pen (because I don’t like to use anyone else’s pen) and a Nite Ize keychain pry that I use a lot and saves my nails from breaking (it can open packages, open bottles scratches stickers and a lot more).
Very nice! I'm the same way about pens. I avoid using "community" pens like they are carrying the plague. 😂😂
Excellent video.
Thank you!!! 🙏🙏
thank you
Thank you for watching!!🙏🙏
I like this one because it's small
Nice ideas. You could also write your blood type on that numbers card.
Indeed I could!! That's a great idea!! Thank you.
A small flashlight like a Thrunite Ti2 or an Olight i1R Eos would fit in nicely.
You are absolutely correct!! I'm not sure if the average person has those laying around. You and I may have a few kicking around, though.
Your EDC looks like mine. Off the shelf stuff. You don't need the most expensive items. Like $200 knives.
I just upgraded from a $6.00 multi-tool to a $25 Gerber on sale (could not resist)
Mine may vary.
Business trips (no knives)
Camping trips
Short trips with GF.
Errands around town
I have different ones.
I'm happy you upgraded!! Those $6 multitools are unreliable and can be dangerous. 🙏🙏 Nice find on that Gerber!!
For a second I was surprised the reader board was down. Now to check out that waterproof wallet, handy for all sorts of stuff
Whoever is in charge of the technical details of these videos should be fired!! 😂😂
Where did you get it?
I have one type of snap off blade knife at the dollar store, it is yellow and has a "secret" slot in the back for an extra blade.
Right!! We all have this stuff laying around and not utilizing it. Thanks for watching the video!!
Liked the ideas.
I might have missed it in the channel / video / comments , would you be able to share a link for the waterproofed wallet?
Thank you and certainly. Here the link 👇

This is the best
Thank you Janet!! I appreciate you saying that!
Depending on where you live, edc could be a firearm, knife, and or ID bracelet to identify your health condition. Outstanding vide, no need to spend a lot of money
Great suggestions my friend!
Nice review! I'm also An EDC nerd. And I consider having the best EDC/hardest kit on the planet. But damn me, the moment you lose a costly knife or lighter it really hurts. I don't have ease of mind when taking my premium EDC out. What is the base of carying an EDC. Great consideration for starters and long time edcrs. I also use a B class one. Have a nice day Sir.
Thank you for that! I am the same way with my premium edc. I don't take it out in fear of losing it. Kinda counter productive.
Some great ideas here. EDC doesn't have to be Titanium.
Thank you. Agreed!
@@SurvivingtheDaily I try to have a lot of budget EDC on my channel. I am better off than many people and I can't afford to spend on really expensive stuff.
where did you get the wallet thing? I like that!
I found that at a camping store a while back. It's the Coghlan's waterproof wallet. a.co/d/f2viirn

Absolutely!! 👍
Where did you get the scrolling LED display?
The link is in the description of this video here. ruclips.net/video/UUcJR9Kkn2g/видео.html
Some people think that edc is just showing and buying stuff. And some people change edc every day
I've thought a lot about this and have come to the conclusion that I am ok with those types. They EDC to help with their confidence. Or for a talking point with others. We all EDC for different reasons.
41K 😂😂 F’ing fantastic love it lol
In just 3 weeks! Insane.
Where can get those water proof wallet?
Here is the Amazon link for it. Thank you for watching! amzn.to/3UE00XS

Tool or Toy
Sometimes I go out and about with a wallet and car key.
Lately my full complement is a titanium spoon, a SAK Bantam, an Olight LED light, a pen, a single sheet of printer paper folded in 1/4s and Pepper Spray.
Oh don't get me wrong, my pockets are loaded with the full compliment of olight's, SAKs, and whatever. Yet is it all necessary ? In my mind it is but "the tool doesn't make the man"
A decent video.
I'll take it! 😂 Thank you! 🙏
Bandana, Floss, Family photo, wrap electrical tape on your BIC, 2 band aids, Zip lock bag, 2 stamps, blank check, Aluminum Foil, Emergency Blanket, 2 Instant Oatmeal, 2 Emergen-C drink mix, nail clipper, Dude Wipes, Toothbrush/paste, Safety-rated sunglasses, 3 Heavy duty Lawn Bags, Gloves, Full Water bottle, Spare Socks, Flashlight w/spare battery, Multi Tool, and Gorilla Tape.
That sounds like my backpack. Minus the oatmeal and Emergen-C which both are a damn good idea.
What does EDC stand for?
EDC stands for everyday carry. It's those items that we carry that help us get through our day. Some carry flashlights pocket knives, screwdrivers, etc. but really it could be just your keys, wallet, and watch. It's personalized to each of us.
zip ties or superglue?
Damn good idea!!! Super glue has many uses too!

@@SurvivingtheDaily Hey thanks so much
Damnnn I wish I'd had this when I was into surfing and other sports as a kid. And later when I was an army ranger. I bought a so called jungle wallet from brigade quarter masters I think it was. Absolute fail. Thanks again.
Let me know how it works out for you.
What ?
Did I miss something?
I don’t own a single Bic lighter Chap Stick,or and no waterproof plastic card holders.I own lots of knives, lots of other items. You are better off with some Real Silver Coins because paper money will soon be Useless but Silver will be valuable.
Gotta have lots ready for both scenarios. Today or tomorrow you may need that cash or lighter. But next month you may need that silver.
@@SurvivingtheDaily The Silver will be good now and then and paper money will be used for toilet paper then or kindling for a fire.
😂😂 we all need toilet paper
@@SurvivingtheDaily well at least the paper bills will work better than pennies, dimes nickels and quarters. 😂
