Still recommend boiling the water after. The filter would get most of the stuff from it but some chemicals and micro organisms would like get thru but boiling would break down the chemicals and kill micro organisms

I don't believe the 2 quart bottle water filter has enough media to be of much value. I would have to be in really, really dire straits to use it as is. Though it may be useful to prefilter water, before I put it through a good filter system. As far as having fishing gear in a tin, which I've seen before, IF shtf, I will NOT be using a rod/worm/bobber in HOPES of catching something. I will be using nets, gill nets, anything that gives me the maximum chance of catching food. I do not believe a fish/game warden will be walking the trails looking for guys to have a license and legal fishing gear. IMO

The charger would have to be AT LEAST 4v output to charge the rechargeable battery and the amps on a panel that small would barely keep the battery from discharging. The panel would have to be pretty big to output enough energy. Also the water filter should also inform people to boil the water clean water doesn't mean sterile water.

      Filter then boil
It's sad we drank from creeks all the time as kids hell early adulthood. I was always told if it was fast running wayer it was safe to drink(as a kid). Now for almost 20 years I haven't drank out of a tap, I fricken boil my water to wash my dishes. Bottle water you have to look at ingredients to know if it's actually water or purified sewer water
