From 1st in the afc to possibly out of the postseason in 6 weeks is crazy
Yeah, not the first time we've seen this before
Agreed. I will say I was never convinced we were that good though. The offense has been trash all year, and we were not really putting anybody away solidly except I think we got the Colts pretty good once.
2021 ravens lol
What are you talking about? They were never first in the afc this year I believe the highest Jacksonville was. Was 3
Not comparing but my titans were 7-3 1st in afc south a year ago and lost last 7 games of the year and finished 7-10 and jags surpassed us and now look at us like I said not comparable cuz we were on a downward slump we had a declining roster and everything but nfl changes fast makes you wonder if nfl stands for not for long
As a Jags fan, my biggest issue with the team has been how weak our mental seems this year. We had several comebacks and upsets last season, we were the dog that never lost until the clock hit 0 in 2022. This year? It seems like any time we end up hitting adversity we just collapse, it’s like the team itself doesn’t believe in themselves anymore and I have no idea where that mentality went
Press Taylor costs them 10 points per game minimum with awful play calling and lack of preparedness .
I think it's because Trevor is trying to play when he should be getting healthy like what cost baker in Cleveland if you're hurt sit out and get better Trevor is a good QB when healthy
Soft coaching. Need to bring in a headstrong OC
If you are a jags fan you should know that Trevor Lawrence is not healthy and still tryna go thru games in pain you could tell his body starts hurting sometimes after he throws the jags beens losing cause it's harder for him to make certain throws been missing receivers throwing interceptions he can't run like he use to run cause of his injury before he got injured they was playing great football so you should know why they losing
@@grizzlytyme4509 of course I know that, I never said our o line has been good or that Trevor has been healthy, I said MY BIGGEST ISSUE with the team has been our mentality this season
Interesting you would mention Trevor’s predetermining targets. I saw this right away with him in fantasy. It’s the flavor of the week with him. One guy eats, the rest go hungry, never consistent.
That's designed, not by him. The offense is designed in a way that he has to get rid of the ball immediately on nearly every play, due to the O line being insanely horrible.
Press Taylor costs them 10 points per game minimum with awful play calling and lack of preparedness .
Agreed. The play calling needs to change and the ball needs to be spread out more. Each week it’s somebody new eating up but at the cost of everyone else disappearing. First it was Ridley, then Kirk, then back to Ridley, to Engram, then Kirk and now it’s between Ridley and Engram for who gets to eat the most.
@@123shoshanJacksonville has spent 229mil$ getting Lawrence help so stop with the excuses. Let's not forget Lawrence is generational type qb so
stop blaming the OC.
Thank you for making these videos. As someone who recently got into NFL, your videos have helped out a lot. They're diverse enough content that i can always take new points away with me.
Press Taylor costs them 10 points per game minimum with awful play calling and lack of preparedness x
Something that isn't being talked about enough is the lack of pre-snap motion. The Jaguars last year had a pre-snap motion percentage of 42%, and now it is just way lower. Also not to mention the lack of designed rollout plays for Lawrence, but that's likely due to his injuries.
The offense looks and feels stagnant, and the defense that has bailed it out all year is starting to collapse.
Rooting for Jacksonville though, and hopefully they figure it out before its too late
Sounds similar to what is happening with the Eagles this year... not enough motion to put stress on the defence, and not enough explosive plays off of play action and what do you know the offense suffers.
As a Jaguars fan, it all comes down to coaching. Our defense has looked lost over the last 4 games. It seems like they're unprepared every game. Our Offensive line has been awful & Trevor has a record for wanting to play hero ball (for no reason at all.)
3:00 Engram makes the right decision breaking this route in. If he continues up field he prob gets lit up by the safety or he tips the ball in the air and it possibly still gets intercepted
It’s time to have a serious conversation about the Philadelphia Eagles lol
They clinched a playoff berth so
Not really they went into the hardest stretch of their schedule and went 3-3 they’re alright but not contenders
@@oneboxboi1091 but why aren’t they contender? Lol it’s time to have a conversation about them
It’s time to have a conversation about all the overpaid qbs like Hurts and Lamar and Herbert.
@@jamarcusmonroe2759sound like you’re hurt lmao eagles will be right back in the playoffs next year, jags tho? Who knows
Tbh engram was prob running the better route there. Middle was open. Trevor trying to get him rocked on that seam pass 😂
Doug Petersons last team had a ton of issues with misscommunications, this might be a him problem not a press Taylor problem
His last team won the super bowl doofus
Horrible play calls have nothing to do with communication
He had Press Taylor as his coordinator on his last team. That's why he was asked to leave
Love your videos man!! I always look forwards to mondays to see your recaps !!
As a Jags fan it sucks. This post-49ers stretch was supposed to be our easiest stretch all season and we’ve dropped 4 in a row and if I’m being completely honest, I don’t think we’re beating the Panthers or the Titans
Made my laugh out loud, not out of disrespect as I like you guys, but Panthers. Is it That bad?
You weren't That bad against us (Ravens)
It really is bad if you can’t beat the panthers or titans.
@@thomasadams9395as a Titans fan I can only agree 😂
@@thesneakerchamp23 oh I’m also a titans fan.It would be truly embarrassing for the jags if they can’t manage to beat us seeing they already blew us out once.
Lawrence is playing injured and the team doesn't have enough guts to sit him.
It's wild thinking back to their win over the Bills in London (I was there, like week 5 or so?) and how they were very much the better team and the win always looked comfortable. That statement win apparently confirmed the Jags were on the up and the Bills were regressing but damn a lot changed quickly on that!
They need to involve ETN in the passing game. 2-3 targets in not enough when he is their most dynamic player that can run or receive the ball.
hey man i love this channel watch every video taht comes out you go in depth into everything and cover the whole nfl but i would love to see a video about perhaps 4 up and coming teams with the best futures in your opinion keep up the great work tho!!!!
The jags have been so disappointing. I hope next year they find that missing piece.
Nah they’re fucked as long as overrated Lawrence is their qb
@@DominicRogers-gs1fm clearly you don’t know shit 💀
@@glacial6227it’s true and I’ve been the biggest Lawrence supporter, Lawrence shows flashes of elite talent, but flashes aren’t enough. The jags have more then a good enough supporting cast he needs to be better then he has been if they want to ever compete
Shows that he ain’t the best qb in the south 👀
idk why people beleive this was a superbowl team; they still need to add depth & fix flaws on the team plus need to develop
You are the best NFL RUclipsr bro! I really enjoy your content. Hope you had a great Christmas. Looking forward to playoff football content !
Love seeing footage from behind the offense to see what it really looks like. Good stuff!
Great vids man. Was skeptical of ur opinions at first but ur the real deal. Keep the great content coming
“So this is how Liberty dies; with thunderous applause” - Padme Amidala
I think the Jags definitely need a new D coordinator next year. I'm not totally out on Press yet, but I wouldn't be sad if he gets replaced too. Perhaps most importantly, I must confess to being a little worried about Trevor. He's no bust for sure, but he's also not playing as good as everyone expected. Jags have to hope that he continues to develop and takes another step next year. If he falters, then the Jags will have big problems.
The Jags scheme is terrible, every throw lawrence makes is a tight window throw, either the receivers cannot get open or the scheme doesn't know how to scheme them open. They also have the highest percentage of first round runs that go for negative yards which is forcing 2nd and longs, its a poor offense.
I didn’t like Meyer but he was a good talent evaluator. Look at his first and only draft with Jax.
I mean yeah trevor has has some mistakes but we got to remember he is like 23 and has the jaguars competing while still reabuilding and learning.
You said it we did not try to improve in the offseason and we aren’t getting any production out of most of our draft picks from the last 2 years. Now our lack of pass rush, weak oline, and lack of depth
So this sounds conspiratorial and I don't usually go in for this sort of stuff BUT the national media put an ungodly amount of hype into Lawrence as a draft prospect, building him up as some sort of Manning-Brady-Herbert hybrid that set expectation levels ridiculously, unrealistically high. Now I think the media is trying to cover themselves by underreporting how bad the Jags and Lawrence are because if he fails it leaves a whole boatload of egg squarely all over their faces. This isn't a knock on Lawrence particularly, he seems like a nice guy who is super talented and the worst possible car crash of a first year, but the draft hype around him was such that he'd need to have been a top 3 QB to live up to that, and with the best will in the world he's not
Huge fan of the channel just wondering if we will do a hot takes video soon
This Jags team was once 6-2, and 8-3. They look mediocre now that Trevor has been banged up. If he is out there and healthy, it gives confidence to our whole team.
The biggest issue is the o line. Doesnt help the run, and getting Tlaw hurt. He's been sacked more this year than any other season.
they were good last year at some point you have to do with other qbs have to do and overcome. hes been dissapoiting
he’s got every physical gift imaginable and yet cj steroid is already a better qb than him and i’m a packers fans you guys aren’t even in the nfc i have no dog in the fight cj just sees the field on a completely different level than trevor cj doesn’t have all the physicals that trevor does but until he can start processing faster and understanding defenses better he’s gonna be a bit above average
Even though the Jaguars won a playoff game last year, it's pretty obvious that this team is still incomplete. In particular, the Jaguars need to address their offensive line and secondary. Contending teams are fully aware that a good offensive line matters to keep their QB safe, and the Jaguars lack a pivot to build around, be at the center, guard, or tackle positions. As for the secondary, in a pass-heavy League, you need defensive backs to neutralize opposing playmakers when your team is not in possession of the ball. They have options, but still lack a true #1 to lead the secondary (think someone like Sauce Gardner from the Jets).
It's hard to determine if coaching is the issue (I mean, even if he did miss a step, Dougie P did win the Lombardi with the Eagles, no taking that away), but this Jaguars team still has holes to fill before I dare say this team is a contender. If the Jaguars do want to compete off the bat, my suggestion: spend wisely in the FA market. Don't go for splashy signings; focus on guys that you know will be a scheme fit, especially in the two positions I mentioned.
I know it sounds crazy, but at this point can we even be certain TLaw will be better than Ryan Tannehills peak? When will TLaw be good for more than 3.8-4k yards and 28-30tds?
Tbf peak Tannehill was a top 5 qb. His efficiency stats were out of this world
@@thenightowls2804 it’s just a shame he was stuck with Adam Gase for so long………
@@thenightowls2804 top 5? That’s funny
That efficiency came from play action off prime Derrick Henry
28-30 TDs? He's yet to reach 26. Even inconsistent Wentz managed 27. Forget even reaching peak Tannehill atm, he isn't even what Wentz was his last full season.
He probably won’t be but everyone will say he is
as a fan depends on how the receiver's feels about being always being called out in the media trading James Robinson was a massive mistake wasn't fast but he had vision when you needed a crucial first down none of our backs has that.
Do the Jaguars ever pass the ball to the middle of the field and between the markers? Seems like every pass is towards the sidelines or a 3 yard bubble screen..
So as a Jags fan the number one thing you need to do is get Trevor Lawrence a better offensive line. That line is strait butt check Henderson needs to not getting better at not just gets just straight up beaten at the line.bif he locks the guy up he is alright. Trevor needs to stop making stupid hero ball play and Peterson is weirdly aggressive at time that just don't make sense. Trevor needs to get on the same page as the WR more because when they are on the can be magical the defense keeps them in the game most of the time but the defense could use more secondary help. Draft o line early and often and spend some money on it in the off season. If you get Trevor a better o line then you can see if his talent can flurrsh or if he is going to bust out
"Generational talent" my derriere.
8:02 My thoughts exactly.
As a Jags fan, the biggest issues w the team are:
Terrible IOL, they gave a huge contract to Brandon Schreff and spent a third round pick on C Luke Fortner and they've both been a reason the running game is dead.
ETN has been averaged under 3 YPC for a month now and they haven't been able to run block the whole year. Also Press Taylor is a VERY predictable playcaller and they've been plagued by untimely drops and fumbles. Most of it reflect on coaching especially offensively as while the defense has been inconsistent, the offense hasn't really clicked all year. Trevor has been dissapointed but he's probably the 4th or 5th biggest issue. Also they drafted a blocking TE and a power RB to fix the running game and that whiffed terrible so far.
yeah Scherf has been GARBAGE!!! dude needs to be a backup or out of the league...he looks old plays old and gets hurt almost every game...SO SICK of watching him staring back at Trevor pre snap ...then turning around and either doing NOTHING or getting Pulverized. Dude STOLE Money.
Jags fan here: The major part of the problem is our GM, Trent Baalke.
You stated this is a team still rebuilding; this team should have been built by now but he is talent ID for draft picks is horrible. He drafted a blocking TE 2nd round and a RB 3 round who got benched for fumbling everything he touches.
Not saying Trevor is doing good, but it's hard to be good under pressure when you're pretty much always under pressure. I've never seen a QB that has to get rid of the ball in under 2.5 seconds on basically every play ever do good. To say, "his situation isn't perfect, but no QB's situation is perfect" is really underselling how shitty his situation is. Again, he is not excused, but you're really not considering things.
If the Jags spend a day 2 pick on Bigsby, why arent they using him to complement Etienne in short yardage situations? ETN also should be getting at least 3 catches a game especially on screen passes when under pressure.
Jags had two back to back #1 overall picks and didnt get a single player whos elite, let alone generational lmao
In college, Trevor lawrence benefited from receivers making incredible adjustments. In the nfl, the windows are even smaller and he has predictably struggled. Never got the generational hype he got.
Same, yeah. I've watched him a lot since he was drafted, and while Trevor has looked bad and great at times and shown flashes of the upside all the analysts promised, he just has a lot of flaws, and at the moment, I don't see him as a top-10 QB. He reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson in the fact that he gets locked onto certain received before the snap and just takes too long to get the ball out and as we've seen for a while, when he scrambles late in the play, he makes a lot of mistakes like poor passes and fumbles and they both shrow such pretty passes. His ball security and timing and his skill at reading defenses need to improve if he's ever going to make that next step beyond simply capable.
Regarding Lawrence, I'll consider the upcoming year as his 3rd, not 4th season. Being a rookie under Urban Meyer as coach doesn't count, however he has now played under a Super Bowl winning coach for 2 seasons now, if he doesn't show signs of growth, in this next season...I would start considering him a bust.
Press Taylor will cost Dougie P another Head Coaching job. Doug's insistence on Press as the OC was the main reason why the Eagles parted ways with him.
Its very frustrating to have high expectations and lose games this deep in the season after going 8-3. Its easy to still believe as a fan but we do have to be honest to ourselves that the Jags arent ready.
It been time we not looking good at all
To the Host !!!! I'm very curious!!!
How many NFL games have you played? How many NFL games have you Coached???
How Many NFL Players Do you know Personally????

( I'M VERY CURIOUS!!!!!)
I'LL WAIT FOR YOUR RESPONSE!!!!
I will be at the Panthers game Sunday...Listen for me booing when they lose.
Without having watched the video yet, I think the biggest issue is the O line. Not having any time to let plays develop would contribute to the issue other people have pointed out of Trevor predetermining targets. The offensive line is absolutely Downy Soft. I would cut every single one of them, and if we hold onto cam Robinson I’m going to stop being a jags fan. Also, we need a true WR1, Christian kirk was doing great, but he’s not THAT guy imo
cj stroud and the texans are what the jag thought they would be
Lawrence plateaued, the offensive line is clearly an issue, Ridley disappeared for months at a time, ETN went off a cliff mid season.
We have to fire our OC and completely rebuild our O Line. Thats a start.
They still so much better than the Urban Meyer era! Which wasnt long ago. They shouldnt have high expectations yet IMO
Lawrence is a backup quarterback - always has been. Eitiene has been the team mvp all year...
No.... I refuse to have this conversation... Just make it stop 😢
the problem is that they have josh allen and travon walker play coverage on big downs. i don’t know why they think it’s a good idea to have a top 5 edge rusher to drop back instead of pressuring the qb. his presence on the line alone would make a qb rush through his reads. plus it’s not like him and travon are top coverage players either. it’s idiotic to take away threats and not play to your strengths.
id place blame on doug pederson for now they won a playoff game with him throwing 4 interceptions kid was mahomes esque at times how the mighty have fallen but fixing the defense was number one on my list and the coordinator is fired but doug had to sign off on what he was doing so might not be out of the fire yet!
Trevor isn’t a franchise qb. There, it’s been made clear.
I think its a classic case of a qb gettint too much praise when its good and too much hate when its bad. Trevor has some issues its clear to see, makes some strange decisions at times, doesnt protect the ball and refuses to throw it away. However the ups are good and hes still a young player, when hes on he can do the things the top guys do, can make the throws the top guys make. But the line is awful right now, zero run game and up and down protection. Very difficult to play well in that situation. No true wr1 as calvin has disappointed and Kirks season finished early. Zay jones hasnt been healthy all season. Stacking injuries and missing practice is just making things worse. I dont believe trevor is going to be a manning/luck type but he can be a very good qb. But with all the issues you're only seing the worst of him right now
Is T Law the answer?
As a Miami Dolphins fan I'm pretty disappointed by the late season slump by Jacksonville. Was hoping if Miami doesn't get no 1 seed in AFC it would be Jacksonville. Rather play on the road in Jacksonville than any other place
TLaw was ridiculously over hyped
Is Kirk coming back
Considering my team got shit on by them twice last season including one of the worst playoff collapses ever, I'm more than happy to see the Jags falling out of the playoffs. Take the divsion Houston!
Honestly I don’t know if the Browns will play the Ravens in the playoffs.
Jags aren’t a bad team by any means but they are on the lower tier of good teams. Can beat any bad to middling team but will get their asses whooped by a real contender. Beating the jet lagged Bills in London was a fluke. That playoff win vs LA had people fooled.
We should have drafted G Ocyrus Torrence when he was there in the 2nd for us! I was really hoping to why would during the draft! Instead Clown Balke drafted a 5th rd TE and then a 5th rd RB in the 3rd. He needs to be fired along with Press Taylor
For the algorithm.
Lawrence is baby Jesus
4:40 is not on Parker Washington it's on Trevor. Washington gets 1 yard past the sticks then stops on a third down
With all due respect, they have no no.1 receiver, Ridley and Kirk are good but you can't put them on the same caliber as some players like Jefferson of Diggs, they need to draft a receiver in the 1st round. Look how it's worked out for Philly, Miami and Cincinnati.
They keep drafting defense lineman
If Wilson was drafted by the jags, how would he have turned out?
I think the Jags had an ok season. They need better O-line playh (like everyone) to help thier running game and some depth all over the field. And like every team in the league they could use another good WR. They were never going to actually win a playoff game or 2 this year. They just needed to look better and win a weak division, and they started off better but the season was derailed a bit due to injury. Time will tell whether Meyer broke Lawrence permanently or whether he can actualy ever trust a head coach enough to be a leader a modern NFL teams needs. Remember Lawrence played for a bully at Clemson and of course Meyer who bullied everyone. Pederson could be the coach to rehab him if given time, but Lawrence may not be irreparably broken. But a better run game and more weapons will certainly help.
The reasons why Jacksonville is still in first place in the AFC South are because Houston and Indianapolis lost their games too and despite having the same record, Jacksonville did beat Houston a few weeks ago which is why they're first in the division.
And they Beat the colts twice
I bet you Jets fans believe that they could’ve been even better than the Jags have been with Lawrence if they lost out the entire year in 2020 and were able to end to taking him 😂
I'm really starting to think Dabo Swinney is the best coach in the world at making mid-QBs look like future NFL Hall of Famers. I really hope he gets a cut of Watson's and Lawrence's contracts because he deserves it.
Trevor won’t get paid yet unless they are dumb but Watson contract wow
Was a Trevor believer.. just realized he's not even the best QB in his division he might be the 3rd or 4th in QB rankings of AFC South
I think he’s fine but worth 25m a year not more
Lawrence not like that at all. That’s the problem. It was never urban Meyer
Urban is this you? Yeah he might not be living up to his #1 pick status but urban Meyer might’ve been the worst nfl head coach in the history of the sport
@@CoC_Lord lol excuses
@@EGuala21 ok so let’s do some simple math. What’s better 59% completion or 67? What about 12 tds to 17 ints compared to 25 tds to 8 ints. What about a qb rating of 71.9 to 95.2? What about finishing dead last in the nfl compared to winning a playoff game? All that was the difference of having urban Meyer compared to a real nfl coach in Doug Peterson. You still sure that it wasn’t urban?
Imagine working so hard to be a football player in the NFL & people nickname you The Prince without really doing much, I'd hate that so much.
I knew they werent gonna be that good when they needed the refs to barely beat the texans
"What's next?" As a Jags fan, no idea. Fans are trying to play the blame game but there doesn't seem to be one definitive aspect that you can fix and have everything else fall into place. Everything seems to be going wrong with no bright spots since four weeks ago, but even earlier in the season, things looked off. Thank you for calling out Trevor being a one-read QB... I think about that almost every time he throws an interception. I expect JAX to lose their last two games of the season.
Travis E. Has a lower average because the O-line is bad.
Looks like a scheme problem
It seems like something DEEPER is going on here. YES the O-Line SUCKS!!! and Trevor is Overrated...both are HUGE problems...but we have talent...and at times it has really shown itself....but NOW almost NOONE on the team is playing to their potential. There is ZERO leadership...NOONE stepping up...
To me it looks like the TEAM as a whole has Lost Faith in either Doug/Coaching Staff...or they KNOW Trevor Sucks...SOMETHING is VERY wrong here...They don't even look like they are playing for themselves!
I don't even see any "Hey screw you guys...maybe YOU wanna LAY DOWN and NOT COMPETE Today (vs Tampa)...but I'm gonna show everyone what I can do!"....
Not seeing any of that!
The Jags have been a let down and it's been really apparent the last couple of weeks.
Bro make a video on Dennis Allen and the New Orleans saints. I subbed because I thought the channel was cool. But I only see content about the same 6 teams.
That QB class with Lawrence is looking to be one of the worst in recent memory. Once again this so called generational QB in Lawrence isn’t generational. Good chance it happens with C.Williams.
5 mid qbs
Jags gotta beat the Panthers who suprisingly are playing some of their best ball of season
Terrible Towel Curse. They should’ve looked what happened to the Bengals & Titans after that
If not for an injured Kaime Fairbairn, the Texans would have a 2 game lead on Jacksonville, and a division sweep against them.
The worst o line in tje NFL will do that ,losing kirk and zay jones most of the year doesn't help either
I’ll give it to you Trevor is definitely not the peyton manning / Andrew luck he was made out to be . But he is definitely more valuable than a lot of qbs in the league . As a jags fan we are only as good as he is , for instance the bengals are winning games without Joe burrow , the Texans won without cj stroud , the Vikings won without Kirk cousins . Y’all get my point without Trevor the jags would probably be a 2 win team
Vikings are terrible without cousins. & burrow always had a stacked roster that’s the only reason he was a star.
@@EGuala21 the Vikings are 3-4 without Kirk cousins and could easily be 4-3 , and what you said about Joe burrow that’s my point . We don’t truly know how good a qb actually is till they get the right pieces around them , just look at the chiefs and how Patrick Mahomes is going
@@buffpatrick7735 the Vikings are 1-4 and their only win was 3-0 they have no movement in their offense and keep switching qbs to get sparks.
@@EGuala21 they beat the falcons , saints and raiders without Kirk and lost to broncos by one point , bears , bengals ( a team they should’ve beat , and lions . 3-4
So you’d pay Trevor over 40m?
Just put us on fraud watch already 😞
They are lucky they played the chargers who massively chocked in the playoffs and not forget Trevor played awful in the first half of that game no other team in the league would be that incompetent to let a team come back from 27-0 in the playoffs
Just saying, in every situation when turnovers are becoming an issue, the QB always gets the blame (Allen, Hurts, Dak etc). Lawrence gets mentioned in the top 10 of QBs often, but I personally don't think he belongs anywhere near it. He was a good, but still overrated QB prospect. There was nothing generational about him, he had no glaring weaknesses, but no elite traits apart from maybe size. He's a hell of a competitor, and teammate though, can't question that.
I want someone to give me a rational argument as to why he should be given a modern franchise QB contract, moving forward. Is he worth in excess of 50 million per year?
Press Taylor needs to go period.
from these plays it looks like he is either not being given read options so has to go for the 0nly one or the other reads are out of shot and he isnt even trying to go to reads 2 and3
T law isn’t much better than mac but has a better team
