Jaguars were the 'most disappointing' team from 2023 | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc Спорт
The Titans wanted it more than the Jags. And I think Lawrence shoulder is hurting more than everyone expected.
The Christian Kirk injury sunk the offense that was already being handled poorly by the OC.
They still had Uber talent yet Trevor was absolute trash. 3 turnovers in a must win game smh
You have 2 other decent receivers in Zay and Ridley and a great TE in Engram on top of one of the best RBs in the league?
How much more do you need?
@@amosepelman3472 Zay was banged up all year too and Ridley was either not getting the looks or just wasn’t getting open enough. As much as I like ETN I think they need a more power run guy to help him out. Or the guards need to open up better holes. As fast as he is it makes me cringe every time he takes a handoff up the middle for little to no gain. He has to have space to do anything which is frustrating.
@@jimmymcfly9822wrong when zay played he produced and Trevor still sucked
@@jimmymcfly9822stop the offense sucked when Kirk was healthy
Derrick Henrys last game, Tannehills last game, maybe Vrabels last game. The Titans had a lot to play for in wanting to go out with a win.
This, I had a gut feeling we’d lose. This era of the titans lit us up and they got their last laugh sadly lol
Titans would be fools to fire Vrabel.
@@boydsprehn2140he has had a losing record the last 2 seasons do you live under a rock?
2:48 he said no significant injuries? Trevor battled through 4 different injuries the whole last half of the season, Zay Jones missed most of the season, lost Kirk to surgery last month of the season.
We go, you go! Titan Up 😂
After this season I think I overvalued Trevor Lawrence - a bit. He has a killer arm but he’s not so hot at touch passes. One other thing I noticed yesterday: he telegraphs his throws a bit. When I watch him, in 16 x 9 and not even All-22, I can usually tell where he’s going to throw as soon as he hits his back foot. If I’m right then maybe he needs to work on that in the off-season. He does have an awesome arm though and I do like watching him throw lasers. And he seems like a great guy too, maybe too nice. And his wife isn’t too bad either ;-)
I disagree on the "key injuries" portion. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but our season started going downhill as soon as the Christian Kirk injury happened. Of course, that shouldn't have made the team absolutely combust, but with the horrible playcalling from Press Taylor, it was bound to happen.
After the browns this year I don’t think anyone can complain about injuries anymore
You still had Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones. Y'all had 3 legit WRs. A TE and a RB who can catch passes. No major injuries
@@2centswanted113Bruh we have the worst OC in the league
@@Iilyoung no the Steelers had the worst OC. Doug Peterson handed play calling to Press but can override him any time. That's not the issue
@@2centswanted113 I’m aware. That’s why I said the entire team shouldn’t have absolutely fallen apart with his absence. But that’s unfortunately the way it ended up happening
I agree the Jags should have made the playoffs. All teams have injuries. Their problem was poor execution.
I love how media talking heads make excuses for certain QB's. [ Jordan Love= he has to play better Travor Lawerance = it's not really his fault]
Injuries go out the window, if you play.
The problem with the Jags this year is something happened early on in the season and they (not all of them) simply didn't want it enough or they didn't believe they should have it all.
I wish they had told the fan-base.
I believe the play calling (by OC Press Taylor) contributed to that heavily, as well as Trevor battling injuries all season.
I do agree with Chris, that too many points are being left on the field these days. There's aggressive, and there's silly.
Most disappointing teams:
1) Bengals
2) Jets
3) Chargers
4) Jaguars
5) Giants
The Bengals had the highest of expectations entering this season. This was expected to be their peak yr in this current window of talent.
Dude, they lost their star QB and still ended with a 9-8 record. They were like 5-1 with a healthy Burrow, even beating SF at SF. KC only has 2 more wins than the Bengals. If anything, they are one of the surprises not going down to like
@@justinharper6909
Going in to September it was Super Bowl or bust for the Bengals! There's no consolation prize for finishing above .500, or participation trophy for ONLY finishing 2 behind KC(😄as if the 2023 Chiefs are the gold standard), or lowering the established pre-season bar cuz of injuries and slow starts. Keeping your qb upright and enduring a 20 game stretch is part of the challenge.
I will say it again. Take the 5th year option and then tag on the 6th year. Make TLaw prove it. We had a chance to hire the GM from Minn awhile back Khan was convinced not to do it. I said it was a bad decision. It was.
I am back…..where are the people saying I wasn’t a Jags fan just because I said we failed at the trade deadline, some of the wins were empty calories, Don’t Pay TLaw yet? Man it got silent real quick. I love my jags but haters don’t question my fanhood!
Trevor lawerence has been dealing with multiple injuries his ankle and then his shoulder and he suited up even though he was pretty banged up that shows me a lot about him because he could have sat out
He should have sat out. Better to miss a game or two to get better than play hurt for several and help cost your team the playoffs.
He played no excuses idc
He should have sat out
He attempted to play as he should have, but the Coach should sat him after halftime.
Y’all something else I’m rocking with a qb who tries to tough it out to get his team a win he’s not at full strength and everybody is judging him he clearly is a very talented qb but injuries affect performance
For the most part never give up points. More times than not you don't make it and you lose the game because of it. Or it changes the end where a FD would have won the game now you need a TD from the 20 with no time left. Seattle is in the playoffs is the take the FD early at Cinny. Then the game at the end instead of needing a TD to win you kick the FD and with the game 19-17. You lose 13-17. Both FDs would have been like the old extra point. Take the points. Or lose more games than it even wins you.
To be clear, Trevor was a game time decision..due to a significant injury to his Throwing Shoulder..he missed the deep pass to Ridley...then had no accuracy for the rest of the game.
Tina Lawrence terrible? It’s like I haven’t been saying that for years lmao
trev injuries as follows sprained knee high ankle sprain concussion then sprained ac joint
Houston Texans have MORE injuries than the Jags..but they have more HEART too
not true. jags are missing 6 starters and trevor playing through injuries but i have no doubt the texans have more heart
@@jaxbetker1372Trevor was probably medicated for the pain ( his knee, shoulder, finger, concussion) and if so he never should've played.
@@jaxbetker1372jaguars we’re not missing 6 starters you completely made that up
@@jaxbetker1372the entire jaguars Team was fully healthy yesterday except Kirk
Jaguars had their entire full roster except for kirk
Oline was no different than last year. Still had a 1000 yard rusher, the issue was the delay of games by Trevor, the 12 turnovers in 5 games by Trevor, having a release that has averaged 9 seconds by Trevor, not making the correct adjustment at the line by Trevor, allowing Trevor to play when not practicing all week. This slide is on the back of Trevor. Lawrence has been awful. Not the Oline
The O Line was significantly worse from last year and they lost their franchise LT to KC. What are you talking about?
@@Christian-eq6pq**right tackle. Also Jawaan Taylor is doing amazing in Kansas City am I right?? 😂😂
I think the Colts loss was the most disappointing !?
Let's face it. Even if the Jags got through they wouldn't be going very far anyway. They are a million miles away from winning it all.
Trevor Lawrence is a strange prospect. One game or series he looks like Andrew Luck, the next he plays like Mariota. He has some of the best plays mixed with weirdest plays on film...like running and fumbling for no reason. I wouldnt pay him. 8-3 and failed to make post season is what is considered the softest division in football. Part of it I think is coaching. Doug Peterson was fired because everyone figured out his plays and system, and much like Frank Reich, its predictable and easy to scheme for. I dont expect them to fire Doug, but I wouldnt be shocked if he was canned next year, because you have to assume Colts and Texans will take another step forward.
You could see it when they would get set on the line of scrimmage . Compared to the Packers , who get set with enthusiasm and eagerness , the Jags lined up with apathy and indifference. Were they not coached up ?
But last year it was the jags and Trevor Lawerence are here for years right come😂
Jags got the Karma for disrespecting Myron’s Terrible Towel. Hey hey Jags the steel city got a Spell on you. Mike Vrabel a former Steelers player gave it to you.
Yeah I guess that’s why Pittsburgh is pretty much the only team our crap franchise has a winning record against. Curse away.
Jags own Pittsburgh
Another show giving excuses to Trevor because the media doesn’t want to admit they were wrong
Terrible offensive performance yesterday
Or were people over valuing their talent. The QB is a turnover machine. You aren't winning with a QB less the team is Godly even then the ceiling is low.
You mean an NFL QB who can't practice for 2 weeks forgets how to play? Really?
TERRIBLE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
TERRIBLE OFFENSIVE LINE
TERRIBLE DEFENSIVE TACKLING
TERRIBLE QB PLAY
TERRIBLE INJURIES
TERRIBLE FINISH
@KICN13 spent over 220mil$ on getting help for Lawrence but instead of admitting u were wrong u blame every1 else.
Defensively our DBs suck at man coverage, our defense doesnt have exotic blitz packages, our O-line sucks, and theres no way you can have a rungame thats primarily out of shotgun. Just embarassing playcalls. If u cant run and you pass on 1st down for zero yds it better be 3 straight passes
Never desecrate the towel
No way would I keep Trevor on my team. He is a good B level QB at best. And never a big game player. Good college QB, but not NFL.

You have a background dancer for maroon 5 at quarterback.
Excusesssssss
All hype no bite, Jags suck
How is T Law a top ten QB? He’s played 3 years and had one above average season? What has he proven except that he isn’t that good? His extension status isn’t a slam dunk which proves he’s nowhere near top ten.
Sad fact is, he’s the best QB they’ve had in 20 years. At least 15.
He was easily a top 5 qb in the second half of last season, other than that he hasn’t done much.
@@rustn1717foh dude mid af and is not clutch at all

@@Jay-ci4to he looked really good for 1/2 a season last year. The 2021 team was a historic trainwreck so I’m just tossing that one out. This year’s team had a lot of problems and Trevor was one of them for sure. There’s just not a better option available at this point than to evaluate him one more year.
Vrabel coaches losing teams😅😅😂😂
Jags need a new head coach and offensive coach
@ReallyGitMotionTV spent over 220mil$ the lastb3yrs getting Trevor help and still could not put the team on his back. But fans like u blame every1 else instead of admitting u were wrong.
Trevor Lawrence is terrible, the last 5 game he has a QB rating of 82 with 7 ints .,......... The Jags aren't creative because Trevor is hendering the Offense ! Too much on Trevor? Really! Have you actually watched the jaguars play or are you just regurgitating hot takes? CJ has had a good season and Trevor spent the last half of his season dealing with multiple injuries. Both are good quarterbacks and will continue to play each other every year twice a year for the foreseeable future. We'll see who's that dude.

When are we going to start having the conversation that Trevor Lawrence is mid and is not clutch lol, every time it’s a big game he throw multiple picks and before yall mention the comeback vs the chargers I can argue that was more about the chargers choking more than it was Trevor taking over the game, dude is a poor mans Kurt cousins or basically Jared Goff with wheels
