    Welcome! Do you ever feel like you are too busy for words? You just long to slow down and enjoy your life more? Me too! What do you do handle it? I'm so glad you're here today!

    I enjoy my simple, slow life; it is crazy in the world today. I also love my small garden. At 65, it's enough for me. When I run errands, I only think about getting home. I love my home.

      Me too! Home is the best place for me. I’m finding the older I get, the more I appreciate it and am thankful every day I have one. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    I don't know why you started showing up in my feed but I am SO glad you did, Rozanne. I do not like podcasts (talking heads that just fill the air), but I could listen to you and appreciate how you get right to the issue, think it through, give us some tools and fresh ideas and do it in such a lovely way. Thank you for sharing yourself this way. I'd love to do a zoom chat on a topic with you and discuss salient topics we women (of a certain age) deal with. I'm 53. ;)

      So nice to meet you Susan! I’m glad I started showing up in your feed too. Maybe someday I should think about having a live event where the women our age that follow this channel can get together and chat. That might be fun. Thanks so much for saying hi!

    I’m really gonna need to think hard about this. I find myself being so busy all the time and I’m always exhausted to the core. Slowing down is so hard.

      You're right. It is hard. We're all pushed to go so fast, but I'm coming to realize that working hard isn't the same as doing too much. My mom was so right about so many things. She tried to get me to slow down. It was kind of funny, come to think of it, because she overworked herself for so long. I guess she learned. Glad to hear from you!

    Hola. I do not enjoy being busy at all. Its exhausting. I love being outside and getting the fresh air. I step in the dirt and recenter. The mountains are beautiful. One thing at a time. I also hear u saying, listen to ur body. Pay attention to the emotions, etc. This was a great video with so many gems. TFS i hope u have an amazing day.

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  3 месяца назад

      Hi Kym! Yes, listening to my body is so important. Pacing myself was an important lesson I received during my Long Covid trial. I am so much more aware now and am able to let time and activities pass while I recharge. I just do what I can do and then stop. I wish I did that before. I’m so glad you liked it!

      Isn’t it amazing? I keep thinking about how it was when we were kids. We were all more relaxed. There was lots of time for chatting to each other and spending time with each other and working alongside each other. We even watched TV with each other. Staring at the phone is so isolating. I’m trying to sit more.

    How perfect to me, we are recent retirees, and are in out mid 60’s. We are not as healthy and strong as we once were. I have had serious health issues these past 8-9 years heart issues and cancer and so on. I have to be slower and more deliberate. That is my way to roll. Thanks you, for the plan and encouragement through this process. Slow down and truly enjoy the day what ever it brings. YES, make a choice! Then choose your path. It isn up to your self, no one else.

    I am trying to slow down. I don't drive too fast. But other than that, I feel like I am going 90 mph. I am wanting to get rid of some things so that I can breathe. But I love everything I have and that's why it is so hard to let things go. I made a conscious effort today to do my errands slowly. I did it! Came home and walked the dog and then ate while I watched a video of yours. Then fixed white chili. Now for more Fall decorating.

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  10 дней назад +1

      White chili! I made a lame attempt at some fall decorating today. Lame is the right word. I’m having such a hard time that all I could do was hang up a couple of things. I did manage to get my favorite artwork over the piano. It’s that painting I’ve shown in past fall videos. (The women reaping wheat.) love it. I hung a banner in the dining room which looks weird with the summer stuff. But oh well… maybe tomorrow will be a better day!

      @wickchick1963 I love art supplies too! I wouldn’t consider myself an artist but it sure is fun. I have a great water coloring course (easy and pretty) I bought when I was trying to get over Long Covid. I like it enough to keep it in my “do soon” bag. I just need to get to it. Art is such fun!

    Hi Rozanne! Love your context, thank you for sharing your wisdom with us! Feel like this video is speaking to me. As a 33 year old working mother with a toddler at home, a house to upkeep, meals to cook, etc etc, I feel like I’m headed towards burnout. And like I have nothing that’s not essential :/ Really don’t like the busyness and feeling rushed all the time. Thanks for your tips. I try to go outside everyday, go on walks (with toddler and dog), enjoy the yard, breathe, pray but still constantly feeling rushed and behind. Hoping this is just a season. I love learning from older women / mothers how they did it / wish they did it, so thank you again! :)

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  3 месяца назад +2

      Hi Mila. I was so touched by your comment that I have filmed a response to it - and to the other young mothers that watch the channel for the same reasons you are. I'm calling on the Sages (older women who have been through it) to come out and help our younger sisters out in the comment section. I'm hoping we'll all learn something in the process. The video will be out next Friday at 10 am. Meanwhile, know this... this IS just a season. Toddlers are exhausting. Working a job with toddlers is more than exhausting. I did it, so I know what it is and my heart's with you. The good news is that when they get 4-6, they are such fun. They can participate, say the cutest things, are fun to take around with you, and can help some around the house (if you require it). So hang in there. It will get better (although, having children isn't ever a walk in the park). Thanks so much for commenting!

      Wow, I’m honored! Thank you so much for making a whole video around this topic! 🥰 I am so looking forward to it, as I do all your videos. Yes, thank you again for reminding me it’s just a season and I will sleep and have “me time” again some day…. In the meantime I will try to eliminate nonessentials and live “slowly” 💕 Happy weekend to you!

    My first video. My Granddaughter (15) is the same. Her Dad's hours have changed and he usually doesn't get home til 10:00 p.m., so eating together has fallen by the wayside. She wants to eat together even if it's just her and I. I'm not a phone user, but am hooked on RUclips videos.

      RUclips videos can be shared! I remember my husband and I having giggles over the Brawnyman series of videos that came out a number of years ago. They are still out there on RUclips. (Although the era for that joke may have passed.) I hope you and your granddaughter have a lot of fun enjoying RUclips together. I have great memories of enjoying things on RUclips with my mother-in-law, we would be up, laughing until the middle of the night sometimes! One of them was a parity called lost in Austen - www.google.com/search?q=Lost+in+Austen+youtube&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
      It’s a mini series, but it’s all on RUclips.

    Ok...I have to put a second comment about the 8:21 mins. Rushing...I realized recently that I rush through my tasks to get done and to move on. But, move on to WHAT? The next task?? I'm always in a hurry to get done but where's the reward? I think I need to develop more activities (or non-activities LOL) to shift to when I'm done with a task and start SLOWING down in mid-task. What's the hurry??

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  2 месяца назад

      I love this. Move on to what? This is so true. Why are we in such a big hurry? It’s been a real question on my mind, as you can tell. I think I’ve missed too much of my life by trying to hurry through everything to get to the “good” part. But what does that even mean? Isn’t now the good part?

      I’m 57, childless and widowed for almost 24 years. I was caregiver for my parents until they passed. Now I’m building a new life while working full time and recovering from 3 mental breakdowns due to work during loss of lives.
      I’m having to recreate basic habits from scratch.
      I’m thankful for my relationship with God, he has seen me through everything and still not given up on me. LOL.
      Your video on the essentialist really hit home for me.
