These guys played at the bar I work at a couple months ago - nicest dudes, and the quintessential American rock band. Hope they go down in history!

From Pitchfork to Obits, everything Rick Froberg has ever done just oozes greatness. I searched in vain for years trying to find a band that helped fill the void in my soul left by the demise of Black Flag. Just when I was about to give up I discovered Hot Snakes, Pitchfork and Drive like Jehu.

I JUST discovered these bands after a Spotify recommendation after listening to At the Drive In and fell in love instantly. Then learned about the passing of Rick and was like.....Fuck!!

That Taj Mahal Travellers record is a complete mind-blower.
One of the best bands especially live. They throttle hard.
I picked up their latest album "Jericho Sirens" on vinyl after a friend/fellow collector in the Vinyl Community here on You Tube suggested that I would dig it. He was right. The album is a gem from start to finish. I spun the album for two weeks straight. I am looking forward to the next one~

I highly recommend Ari Farka Toure to anyone. I didn't know about him till this video, and the moment I put a song on of his, I got goosebumps. Such raw emotion in the music. Truly amazing.
So wild to see him mentioned here. I found him on Radiooooo! It’s an online collection of music from any country and any decade. I picked Mali and 1990s by mere chance and found Ali Farka Toure. I dig it.
Man, I want every frkn thing they pulled out their bags. Great band with great taste.

Also worth mentioning that minus Rick the rest of the band put out a couple records as the Night Marchers that rip too. Love Hot Snakes and Reis' plethora of bands.

I´ve got it, on cd!!!! I bought it like 20 years ago. I´m and old fart.
I've listened to "on the mouth" 10k times and never realized that. Very cool, makes sense. Also never realized how similar Rick's vox sound to Batallion of Saints.

I saw these guys and they ripped it up however the headliner band was METZ and they absolutely blasted...kinda made Hot Snakes sound tame imho.
Just cause you're louder doesn't mean you're better. Hot Snakes are about 10x better than Metz.
I love both a lot. Even though I got more history seeing all the Speedo/Froberg projects through the 90s.
I never heard of Hot Snakes so when I saw the thumbnail and just judged them on there looks I thought there were going to have terrible taste in music damn was I wrong.
