I discovered this band a little while ago and was surprised by the quality of the sound produced by the four. But I was particularly struck by the virtues of John Reis with the guitar.
i think this is the best HS show on here. The sound is fantastic, with the vocal's mixed n perfectly (some shows are unlistenable on video bc the vocal mix is too low, and RF's voice sounds best when the mix makes it feel like a violent ((but fair) fight for oxygen between the vocals, guitars, bass and drums. And if you know another band that could lead off as strongly as "Death Camp Fantasy" does here without everything else seeming like just counting out the clock, please share them with me. These fellas could have hung up the gloves after "Rome Plows" and given more to punk than most of Epitaph's historical roster, combined.
Oh, and feel free to share any other shows, by anyone, captured this clearly. I'm still waiting on one decent full length Archers of Loaf show where half doesn't sound like it was recorded from the bottom of a well.....
I had to skip this show because I was sick. Thanks for posting it! Is there any chance that I could contact you about filming a local Philly show that my band is playing?
RIP Rick. Happy I got to see them twice on the last few runs. One of the best live bands I've ever seen with no low points in their set list.
