They never even brought back the built-in camera, and their battery suck👎. Even the old 2014 LG Smart watch had better battery life, so why even bother releasing new models with no major advancement except basic crap like a new watch face sized at 40 & 44mm with digital bezel.....Like Wow🤔
In terms of showing notifications, reply to messages email and social apps (whatsapp, viber, telegram, fb, twitter etc) and without having a samsung device which is better Fossil Gen 5 or Samsung Active 2 ? Please reply
Foasil Gen 5 in terms of replying! It has Gboard on which you can type via swiping or use Google voice both work excellent. Also compatibility of Fossil gen 5 with non-samsung smartphone is much good.

Storage is fine considering you wont really be downloading any huge apps anyways. Galaxy store is meh but realistically everything you could need on the watch is there. Bixby is pretty bad so I do hope at some point they allow google assistant instead. Also BUY THEM OPEN BOX OR REFURBED the price drops crazily I got mine for $150 when they are usually 200+. In other words the only downside is bixby, 100% not an "over priced piece of crap."

About you paying 500, thats insane because brand new sealed box in store here is 225 for the the 40mm and 250 for the 44mm so it must just be where you live. Like I said I got mine open box for 150 and Ive heard of them going as low as 90 for refurbed 40mm.
Go into the settings from the menu then scroll down to advanced and again scroll down to Good Night Mode and see if the scheduled settings are present or not?
I wish I could know if there is any software to see the graphics of speed and heart rate in the computer. With polar I have got Polar flow, which allows me to download the CSV file to analyze my data even with LibreOffice Calc. Is it possible with Samsung watches? I like it very much, but I want a way to see my plots in the computer, not just in the phone. Thank-you in advance.

i work at both fossil and samsung. 100% recommend active 2. gen 4 was a disaster with mass produced faulty products where the backs were falling off. gen 5 is much better but battery life is still not good, watch still laggy and a LOT of connection issues.

Only down set, unlike the galaxy watch. The active doesnt let You can't talk on it when having incoming/outgoing calls. Only down set to the galaxy watch it's a lil big lol

On my watch, the weather doesn’t update until I tap the refresh button and that only works if my phone is unlocked and running the Galaxy Watch app.
On your phone in weather app choose refresh after every 1 hour.
