I am 84 (yes, I am a great-grandfather) and just bought this watch today. I know, I know... what is an old fart doing buying a watch like this? Well, last July I also bought a Galaxy 20, and today I thought it would be nice if I could pair my phone with some kind of watch... just to be able to FIND my new phone, if nothing else. (No one has ever accused me of being the brightest light in the harbor.) I own a Microsoft watch that I bought about four years ago, but it is worthless and pairs to nothing. Long story short... your vid was terrific! (I know, I should say "cool," but "terrific" is the vernacular of my generation. Sorry about that.) Back to the watch: I tried to start it with the included instructions, but that was a disaster. Are you kiddin' me??? Written by Japanese, translated by Russians and printed by Italians? So, I went to RUclips and saw your vid. In less than a minute, I had my new watch not only telling me what time it was, but the day and date. With this COVID thing going on, I never knew what day it was, let alone the time! Now, I'll even know how much bat-tree life there is in my pacemaker! When I was born in 1936, Dick Tracy had a radio wristwatch. So, why in 2020, should I not play like Dick Tracy and call the cops for help on my wrist-radio? I have a long way to go to master my new watch, but I have faith, because I will watch your vid at least six more times. Many thanks and a good job, Tech-with-Brett!

This was fantastic and so helpful. When I first got this watch I was shocked at how little information Samsung provided in the box in terms of user manual, features, tips and tricks etc. I was completely clueless and fumbling about between the Galaxy where app and the watch settings trying to set it up and figure out optimal usage. it's almost like they don't care about letting you know all of the cool things it can do. I wish I had this video to reference when I first got the watch, but I still learned a lot and was able to make additional tweaks to the settings based on your video so thank you!!!
I have been wanting to make a Galaxy Watch tutorial like this for years so I am sorry it took me so long! I now feel caught up to the latest devices of today so helping I can find more things to show!

Just bought mine about two hours ago. Did the initial set up and linking, took about 15 minutes because I watched this video yesterday! It's charging now so haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'm sure I will be back to this video numerous times over the next few days. By the way, J.C. Penney has Black Friday prices on both the 40 and 44 mm sizes right now, $50 U.S. off. Might be just a one or two day deal, don't know. At least that is the way it here in Northeast Florida, U.S. Thanks Brett for the info!
OMG.... I am balled over. I received this watch (SAMSUNG Galaxy Active2) today as a present. I was told to watch this induction/instruction. This watch has the remote control (camera controller) feature I need as a newbie in vlogging. Honestly I don’t know where I would be without RUclips. In my last vlog, I complained about the challenge of reaching out to switch the recording off and on. Now with this new watch I don’t have to do that..... I am jumping with excitement. That’s one vlogging challenge sorted.... now I need to find out how to keep the camera controller on while Recording....

Excellent set up video. Actually watched this before my wife got delivery of her rose gold 44mm version. She came from Gear Sport, mainly because she wants the phone call function that is missing on the Gear Sport.

If I need to know how something works (in this case, Bluetooth only vs Bluetooth with lte) I always try to find a video done by you for the answer.
I have a Gear S3 Frontier "Bluetooth" and I'm upgrading to the Galaxy watch 3. I wasn't sure if the LTE version used the same phone number as the phone. I mean I would not want to have to use two different numbers when trying to text or make phone calls. After watching the video I now know that the watch syncs with be phones number which is perfect. Great Video! It was exactly the information I needed!

@@JohnMCouch i am a fanatical exerciser every day, i never use power save mode, and i am on my phone aLOT, while getting 2 days battery time consistently...not sure what's going on with yours, but not the case at all with mine
@@JohnMCouch yes an active 2 LTE...only reason i even got mine was for all of the health features on it, but of course now i'm not sure how i ever did without it (i have been a galaxy phone user since day 1 that they came out)...it sounds like you got a faulty watch or something...mine stays connected to my phone constantly...if i keep my watch face "always on" my full charge will last about a day and a half...

If using just the Bluetooth with your watch, if you walk away from your phone and the Bluetooth disconnects, does the watch alert you in some way, whether it vibrates or beeps?

Thank you, will be watching this a few times, as I learn my new watch. You covered many things here.
One issue to note... My S9+ phone is on Verizon (provided by my employer) and my Samsung LTE watch (currently the S3 Frontier but about to be this one) is on my family AT&T account. My employer doesn't allow access to the number cloning... What this means is the only way to get phone calls made to your cell # on your watch is through call forwarding in the app. It will ring about 5 times then forward the call to the watch. Also if you make a call from the watch, it shows up on caller ID as the watch's assigned phone number and not your cell phone's number.. Kind of a pain but the freedom to leave your phone at home is worth it I think. Hope this info helps.. Great review..

I purchased the Active 2 on May 9th, and I went "swimming" with it for the first time on July 1st. It has a swim mode feature and is advertised as a device you can swim with - up to 50 feet for 30 minutes; I did neither of those things. I was wading in the pool, and after about 10 minutes, I noticed my watch was not working anymore. I went into the house, dried it off, and the back cover of the watch came loose and came off (it looked like it was glued on and the glue wasn't strong enough to hold it anymore). I took a picture of it, and I contacted Samsung. Right away the rep started saying that it's water resistant and not waterproof. I had a sinking feeling I was going to be in for a fight. And sure enough, I received a bill on July 7th for $219.79 - THAT IS ALMOST WHAT I PAID FOR THE WATCH! They said there was water damage to the motherboard, so my year warranty on the device is null and void. I've spoken to three different customer service reps, and Samsung is refusing to budge on this. One supervisor informed me I would be better off buying a new watch. She also said to file a complaint online, but there is nowhere to do that. The agent could not find the link for me. The agent then gave me a number to call, but it is no longer in service. I cannot believe this is happening. If anyone has any advice about how I can get a resolution to this, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Does sleep tracking have a smart alarm? (wakes you up for example between 7:00 - 7:30 depends on your sleep stage).

No the sleep tracking tracks your sleep like how many hrs do you sleep
When did you have a deep sleep or light sleep or did you talk or did you wake sleep
Ive got the watch but not found this feature yet, only had it a day though. My old fitbit used to do this and it was really impressive, if you set a 7am alarm it would wake you up anytime 30 mins before the alarm if it recognised you were in a good sleep stage to be woken up
