Lots of testing and research went into making this video. Before anyone gets upset in the comments, I want to add two disclaimers. First, I only showed the Watch6 and Watch7 in the HR & GPS test. That is because the 7 & Ultra have the same hardware, and the 6 & 6 Classic have the same hardware. Also, I wanted to ensure the highest degree of accuracy possible. Wearing two watches per wrist would risk significant error. Secondly, I am fully aware that the default workout start page modifications were already updated for the older watches. I meant to say that, but it just came out wrong in the video. Thanks for watching!
I was hoping for a rotating bezel this year. My first smartwatch was the 5. I was hoping for a 7 classic. I guess I'll have to wait for the 8 classic next year, if they make one.
Great comprehensive comparison. My classic 6 disappeared while traveling, and I loved the look if that watch! Now I have needed info regarding which to get. Thanks!
Finally, someone who has compared the galaxy watch 6 to the watch 7 properly, and someone who has experienced both and is not just stating details of the specs
Yes, I agree, but it seems like a dumb decision. It's like if they only wanted to sell them every other year. I don't know whether the marketing every time they ditch the bezel, good or bad, is beneficial...
@@9abe9 makes absolutely ZERO sense. The one thing people love. Why is shi*e battery life always mentioned with every Samsung device? The watches have been disastrous with NI FIX from Samsung. Other comparable and less expensive watches have 2,3 or 4 days battery life, yet Samsung struggles to get 24 hours with medium use. HOPELESS!
Willing to bet they're gonna do it every other year from now on with the introduction of the Ultra. Sure we'll see it for the watch 8. Let's hope with bigger battery.
Debris like sand, dirt etc get stuck under it over time and it becomes crunchy and feels awful to use. Probably that's why, for durability. But if you don't really go out much or to places with a lot of dirt, sand etc that's not much of an issue I suppose.
@neonkapawn That's exactly right! And it's also in the maintenance. Me and wife both worked in a warehouse. She hardly ever cleaned the damn thing and I would wipe mine off and clean out regularly. After about 2 years with the watch 3, she could barely twist it. Mine moved just fine. Have the watch 6 now. No problems.
I love my Watch 7. Been an Apple user for 11 years but switched to Samsung and enjoying their products. The Watch 7 has been a better experience than my old Apple watch.
@@FreemanTheGmanI have a 350 trade in for my watch 5 pro but i don't even consider it. Would have to pay 300 more for the ultra and i think that would be a downgrade actualy. The design is ugly, and for the huge dimensions the battery is actualy the same with 5 pro...
Out of all the smartwatches I have been using Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, OnePlus, the Samsung S6 classic is the most unreliable and worst quality watch I have used. The battery life is horrible and after 2 weeks first time swimming with it it died after 1 lap of the pool.
I see many criticisms of Samsung copying Apple, square case, orange strap balh blah blah. The square case watch design has been around for many years, before Apple ever existed... Catier, Seiko and even Rolex. Samsung uses a cushion case style for the Ultra, they didn't steel that from Apple. It's quite an old design. Orange strap? Doxa, Seiko and countless others have them. Neither Apple nor Samsung designs are original as far as case style or strap color.
For those that arent familiar with the "FE" term, when it comes to Samsung(and some other brands), FE is Fan Edition. Basically, it's the same as the cheaper re-hash of older hardware in a newer body. Apple does the same thing with SE, but Samsung does it cheaper lol. Take requests from fan favorite features and place it in the new body type which is usually cheaper and lighter in weight. Sometimes current generation, non-flagship, Camera configuration.
@@sinigangpapi3379 ya. I had an Ultra for 3 days and decided it wasn't for me and returned it. I'm so happy with that decision. It was such a relief to have my classic back on my wrist.
Great content. As for bezel or lack of it. If you never had the bezel, you won't miss it. I had the watch4 44mm. And I love the watch 7ultra. The case reminds me of the Panerai luminor chronograph. As for bands, I already ordered 5 new bands. And putting the band on it wasn't that hard. Put it's super secure. As for the price, if you get it through a carrier, it will cost 27 dollars a month. Much more palatable. As for charging. You can charge from your phone using the charging puck plug it into your phone.
I regret to inform you that you might be underestimating the Galaxy 5 Pro, which is the best competitor and has a comparable battery life to the less appealing Ultra, despite the claim of two years of software updates. In my view, a practical lifespan for any smartwatch is around 2 to 3 years. Additionally, it's disappointing that Samsung still limits support for their smartwatches to only 4 years. Furthermore, restricting features like ECG and blood pressure monitoring to Samsung mobile users is regrettable and feels monopolistic. Regarding aesthetics, I find the Ultra quite unattractive. The regular Watch 7 is more visually appealing, and if battery life is a concern, the Galaxy 5 Pro is a better option. Lastly, for those who prefer a refined look, the Watch 6 Classic is an excellent choice.
I agree, you can't recommend the GW6 and not the 5 Pro when they are basically the same watch inside, Samsung recycled that damned chip 3 generations, while the 5 Pro is more rugged and has WAY better battery life. If you're gonna carry a laggy watch, at least make it more durable and have better battery life huh.
You should have included the 5 pro. The ultra is like a 5 pro but with a siren. They have the same battery size. Titanium build. But the 5 pro is substantially lighter
I'm honestly loving both. But the 5 pro has the best battery life, giving me roughly 4 days between charges vs. my 6 classic, which gives me 2 days. Both get used the exact same way alternating thru the week
The 6 classic for sure! Every Samsung watch I have had has been the model with the rotating bezel Watch 3 Frontier, Watch 4 Classic and now the Watch 6 Classic. The rotating bezel is a stand-out feature unique to this line of Samsung watches. These watches are very durable and have never let me down. I wear them to work and they can withstand a lot of abuse.

I got the watch 7. Upgrade from w4. I just love it! Everything is good. The new strap is also much more comfortable and fits a smaller wrist aswell! 2 days of battery life -also good. Only negative is the lack of qi charging.
I´ve been wearing a dive watch with a rotating, ratcheting bezel for more than 15 years. It´s the best fidget toy ever. If i ever get a smartwatch i´m getting one with that specific feature.
Several important, in my opinion, tests were not done: 1. Test of the charging speed of the watches. With unremarkable autonomy (including pro and ultra variants) - this is a very important parameter. 2. LTE test. This function has been present in Samsung watches for a long time, but it is almost impossible to use it on older models in summer - the watch almost immediately goes into overheating. The question - whether there are changes in this directions - remains open.
I find it interesting to see people that care so much about reverse wireless charging their watch. I for the live of me wasn't able to make it work consistently and hated it. You had to remove your phone case, align your watch PERFECTLY and turn off notifications on both devices because the sensor against the back of the phone was basically two super slippery surfaces and EVERYTHING, even the most minor movement made the watch misalign and miss charging. There's no way it ain't easier to just plug your watch in its charger and that's it.
Had GW6 classic n purchased GWU just last week n trust me it is the best looking watch. It feels really premium as compared to GW6 classic, more premium n more beautiful, rugged n tough at same time. Speed is tremendously fast in Ultra, 6 classic was very slow n sluggish, thou battery in ultra barely gets 3 days, i got 2.5 days in GW6 easily. I noticed speaker quality was better in 6 classic strangely 😢
thanks for thoughts. I'm still rocking a Galaxy 4 classic and still gets me through a full day. It was half the cost of the 7 ultra. Ive decided to wait to see what happens before upgrading. I love the rotating bezel on earlier models too.
This is without a doubt the best comparison out there for a smart watch for people who have Samsung phones. It hits all of the pros and cons that matter. The Watch 5 Pro is in the ring for me too due to the battery life. When you travel and live abroad, your phone and being able to charge your watch off your the back of your phone makes sense instead of the hockey puck, and if you have a problem with it, it gets lost or stolen with your luggage, you are SOL. I'd even be good if it had a USB-C port. You cannot just buy something off Amazon if you are not a citizen, and when you can, it can take 2 to 6 weeks to get it, which means you can't be mobile during that period. I learned with my Note 20 Ultra that if you don't have long battery life, you also don't get a ride home because you can't call an UBER, so you have to watch the phone and turn it off and on to manage the battery. I don't want to deal with that with a watch now. I now have the S24 Ultra and I can go for days, and if necessary, do it twice more from a small 10,000 mah power, brick which can give me two more charges.
I have always worn a Fitbit! I have probably had 4 different versions of Fitbit... This time around, I am going for the Samsung 7...I currently own the Samsung Ultra 24 (or whatever the latest version is. I think mine is Ultra 24). Anyway, I am due for a new smartwatch. Being a long-time Fitbit person, I sometimes feel I should stick with Fitbit... But the aging, I like being in the Samsung Ecosystem. I just think it gives me better use of the features on my Samsung Ultra 24....thanks for the video! You did a better job than anyone. You made me a subscriber! Stay honest!
Agree to disargree, I hated the old Samsung strap connection. Never purchased anything that wasn't designed for Samsung so I don't care it was a generic 22mm size. So glad to have an easier band clasp on my new Watch 7 Ultra. Looking forward to the new trail straps (White & Black) coming this week. I love the free orange trall strap I got with my grey Titanium.
@@sidha22 I have no doubt and the dilver version was tempting, but for an everyday smartwatch to check the basics this sapphire, titanium and simple look is perfectly fine for me, I also love to wear my classic, automatic watches so I'll see what the 8-9 will bring.
I've been using the original GW for the last 4 and a half years. I bought the 6 Classic yesterday there's some damn good deals on Samsung at the moment. No rotating bezel and no reverse charging on the 7 Ultra is an absolute no-no for me, as mych as i am a Samsung Knight 😂 i find this very poor . Superb upload by the way 👌🏼
I have the GW6 and GW7. I ran multiple laps with both watches around a footpath through trees and open space. The GW7 was mostly a solid line, on the aerial path, with a typical difference around +/- 1m to 2m. A lot of the time the GW6 was +/- 5m or greater in several spots. This video is a bit misleading only showing one loop and the GW7 (and Ultra) is a big step up in GPS accuracy. EDIT: If you buy the GW7 through Samsung, make sure you get the dark gray band not the green one. It looks a lot better and should be the standard band on the darker GW7.
I have the Ultra after getting a 20% discount and trade in, it was affordable. Many years ago I had the Frontier with the rotating bezel, but found grit would get in there and you could hear it grinding when turned. So I don't miss that. I really like the Ultra. I mainly bought it for sports tracking. Also now for sleep tracking as it's somehow more comfortable than my Watch 5 Pro, even though it's bigger.
The rotating bezzle alone makes the 6 Classic the watch for me. Folks don't recognize how useful that bezzle is. It grants you a level of finite control that's just better than the touch bezzle. And the clicky feel is incredibly satisfying
I had the 6 classic. I loved the design of it, but when I had to use it for working out, the battery would drain in a few hours. I got the 7 ultra through a trade-in, and it's great. The only thing I miss is the rotating bezel.
I am an older lady on social security, So I don't have a lot of money. Both of my so called smartwatches have just gone to pot. I won't be working out or running miles and miles like you do, But I do need to know my oxygen level and my heart rate, steps, And whether i'm having A-fib or not... plus my sleep. I hate the fact That my old smart watch would give me "steps" when I was out fishing and cranking my lure in! Yipes! Nice video! I have a Samsung Z Flip 5 And I love Samsung. I have samsung tablets too. I need a smart watch, But the faces of the watches nowadays are practically bigger than my wrist, but I suppose that just has to be? What would your advice to me be, please? God bless you!
I have the 6 classic and won't upgrade until they bring the classic rotating bezel back, and to be fair unless there's like a super duper noticeable upgrade I might never upgrade
I just ordered the watch 7 but that 6 classic looks nice and like u mentioned i use my watch as an extension to my phone not for workouts and I love to track my sleep
Thank you, Mike. I was really contemplating which Samsung watch I should buy but was not sure what was worth the price and the features. Unfortunately, there were no RUclipsrs comparing the watches in a single video. The selection process was challenging, and then, your video appeared, providing an extensive explanation that was completely clear without resorting to technical terms or just reading out the specs. It is evident that on the making of this video, this has been the result of a significant amount of time and effort testing out the various watches on your part. I express my gratitude for your assistance in guiding me to my preferred choice, I believe the Samsung Galaxy 6 Classic is indeed my preference.
No rotating bezel is great for a watch that can take more hits, athletic exposure to elements, less cleaning, less breakage, less mechanical error. The touch rotation works great. You get use to it. If you want all the advantages above than a non rotating bezel is better.
Hello there, I just purchased Samsung Galaxy watch 7. It is my first smartwatch and I am so excited. I use it for running and hiking and it works amazing but I Want to see the route I did. Where I can find it??
@@picardo1236 I did notice some lag, but only in the apps menu. My previous Watch 4 menu scrolling was smoother, but personally this is negligible because I like the bigger screen on the 6.
I appreciate that you still acknowledged the fe & pro 5. I was really hoping we'd get a new pro 6 watch, especially since it still has the best battery. But i can't justify the only 2 years left of software updates
The only problem I have with the Galaxy Watch Ultra is the quick response when someone calls you doesn't work if possible can you look into this great video
Traded in my 4 classic in with Samsung a couple weeks ago, got $200 for it. Bought the 6 classic 47 mm. Also bought an Amazon renewed 5 pro for $140 a few months ago. Wear the 6 at work and going out. I use the 5 on weekends when working around the house and the yard. No worries about getting dirt in a rotating bezel. Never pay full price for a Samsung watch.
Coming from the 5 Pro and 6 Classic, the Ultra is amazing. I thought it was ugly until I saw it in person. On paper, this watch is too big for a lot of people, but due to the integrated straps, it fits fine. I have 6.25 wrists, and while being bigger, the Ultra wears like the 5 Pro. Also, I've noticed that everyone here complaining about the Ultra hasn't used one.....
Just bought a Galaxy Watch6. Here in Australia Samsung Electoronics Oz have been selling them at 1/2 price which made the purchase incredible value. I was going to buy a Galaxy Ring but when I received the sizing kit found that the largest size #13 is too small for me. Then this half price deal on a 44mm Watch6 came up and I couldn't be happier
Btw, here's a quick info why Qi Wireless charging isn't available on the Watch 7/ultra: The new BioActive sensor somehow is bigger than the previous generation that pushes the charging coil further by about a few millimetre or something. This is just a guess but yup. Not a big blow to me cause my phone battery ain't enough and too slow to charge the Watch 7. (I have owned it and it's quite awesome, faster charging than Watch 6/6 Classic and prev gens.)
Guys, I want to buy my first Galaxy Watch and I always see people just talking about the upgrade. Which one should I buy: 5, 6 or 7? There's some info below to give more context. 1. I'm only looking for 40mm. 2. Not interested in the classic/ultra version. Maybe the pro, but never checked it to be sure. 3. I really like the black color. I'm disappointed with the lack of black option in the 7, but if the 6 straps are compatible with the 7, I'm willing to buy it. Black colored bezel is more important for me than the strap color though.
As someone with a really small wrist (the galaxy 7 40 mm was slightly too big for me even) the other watches simply weren't an option for me. I switched out the galaxy 7 band to the fabric one and it fits perfectly now and is really comfortable.
When your new watch 7 only lasts 20 hours on a single charge, no aod, While the watch 6 gets a day and 20 hours, same settings, you know something's wrong
Not my experience. GW7 probably slightly better and certainly quicker charging to full. Light use (no AOD) you will get very close to 2 days. Moderate use 1.5 days & heavy use no problems getting 24 hours. I don't have snore detention, AOD or continuous heart rate but pretty much everything else on.
I just got my watch Ultra. Charger is the same as the Watch 6 Classic, so the charging tech is the same. The bump of the sensor is larger than on the Watch 6, which leads me to believe that's why no reverse charging.
@@phrogpilot73 you are correct. The Dutch website Tweakers had Samsung confirm this. The distance is too big for wireless charging because the new sensor cluster sticks out too much.
GREAT review, Mike! I recently joined the Samsung ecosystem with an S24U and I preordered the 3Pro buds. I'm looking to replace my battery aging Garmin Epix watch and am leaning towards the 7Ultra. 1 day battery life is completely off the table, so Ultra is the likely candidate. Reviews like this help your audience make informed decisions and are truly appreciated!
I'll be keeping my Watch 5 Pro. It's still going strong with almost four days of battery life. Something that the newer models won't be able to achieve. Plus, the Watch 7 Ultra looks ugly af.
I just bought myself a galaxy watch 6 classic because it is by far the most perfect smartwatch I ever wanted. Love the rotating bezel, support wireless reverse charging on samsung smartphone, and the size is just perfect. It is actually thinner than even a mi band 9 which I almost bought because I've been using mi bands since their 3rd gen until 8th gen due to their small form. Now wearing a flatter, bigger round watch for the first time, I don't feel awkward at all. The only downside is the need to charge it often.
Got the ultra for 120. Was getting the 7 for around 80. Chose ultra for the little extra features it has to offer. Looks good and the UI has improved from the 5 pro I had before.
It seems that one of the most important factors when choosing a Samsung smart watch to buy now - will be the design. While Watch 6 and Watch 7 are absolutely similar (except for the color of the case), the Ultra, Pro and Classic watches are different design trends, about which there are different opinions. For example, views on the ultra are often polarized - many people like it a lot, others don't like it at all. I don't like it either, but it's acceptable in gray. The 5 Pro, in my opinion, as a sport watch - much more attractive than the ultra. The Classic watch is for classic and bezel lovers. By the way, the appearance of the ultra watch can be slightly corrected by quality cases, making it more brutal, similar to the G-Shock
Thanks for this review! I was really waiting for this. Currently I am still using my Watch 5 Pro. Really happy with it apart from the GPS. I expected the watch and my S24 Ultra to cooperate in getting the most precise position but it doesn't really work like that. So I was happy to see Samsung finally improving the GPS stability by adding a second band! Looking at the tracked runs: by how many meters is the Watch 7 off? There were some slight deviations and I am not sure how big the deviation is. Good to see that it does seem to get back on track again. With my watch 5 pro it happens that it stays off by 30-40 meters for an entire run.
I have Galaxy Watch Pro 5 love it. sick of Samsung's price gouging for same devices withw a few extras not neede. My phone is Samsung S10 plus still a great phone
I have the 4 and 7... the 7 is such a great upgrade! I dont know how the 6 and 5 were the optical website is so much better on the 7. Real world upgrades
The biggest downgrade on all new WearOS devices is Google's confusing decision to remove external HR sensor support. They are marketing these as fitness devices, but the lack of external HR support severely limits their viability for a lot of exercises like weight lifting, yoga, etc. Not sure why they remove features and never add them back, especially important ones.
The ultra battery life is horrible compared to the 7. There are videos already out comparing the batteries already. I have the 5 pro and its better then the 6. I was so happy for the ultra but when i seen the battery life im going with the 7. I wish they would of did like the 5 pros battery where i can easily get 4 days before i need to charge
Great review of Samsung smartwatches! You did a great job! In my opinion, the 7 series is just a gentle evolution without any revolution, the sevens could be more attractive in terms of price. I'll wait a few months and then decide to buy a regular seven. I'm just curious about the differences in the operating time of the watches between the 40mm and 44mm versions. My wrist circumference is less than 18 cm, so visually and practically a better choice would be to buy the smaller 40mm version, because I already had the 44mm version and it was definitely too big, and I don't know how the 6th classic version with a diameter of 43mm would fit on my wrist. Lots of questions, lots of doubts. Maybe you can advise me on this matter? Greetings from Poland :)
you do know why. they told us. In order to fit in more sensors for better hr accuracy, they opted for that instead of the wireless charge off a smartphone. It's a technical trade off. But don't fret because you can still charge off your smartphone still although in a less convenient manner. You know the wireless charger? connect it to the smartphone and THEN put your watch on the wireless charger. Now you are charging off your smartphone. Sure it's not as nice as simply sticking it directly on the smartphone, but consider the technical reasons for it, this is an acceptable trade off for some if not all people. Same for the bezel. In order to meet the military durability grade, they couldn't add in the rotating bezel. But had they done it and forsook the durability grading, would the ultra still be good enough for swimming? Then people will be complaining about that and why it didn't match the durability rating that apple has. But to be fair, though apple does not have rotating bezel either, they did have a physical vertical rotating knob for navigating the UI. So they worked something out in this aspect for a physical rotating mechanism. So in this area samsung lost out, and made it all screen based for navigating the UI. There is however some accessability settings for navigating in other ways though i'm not sure that most people would use them, but it's there. The Ultra has 2 software features that the watch 7 didn't have which was a HR personalized zone assistant and the workout routine stuff. If you don't care about that, then watch 7 will be fine for most people if they are ok with the less premium build and battery. As for why gps is barely accurate, isn't the reason for it because it's not military grade? So it was never going to be 100% ? But from what i saw it's good enough to have a general idea of the route and direction for me that is good enough. Would have been great if they flipped on the military grade gps for everybody, but we don't live in that world 😅
A very well thought out reply. Thanks for sharing! I agree that both the GPS on these are more than sufficient for most workouts but a little extra accuracy could certainly unlock some cool features
@@MikeOBrienMedia ty for ur kind words. i wasn't trying to be critical of u. just wanted to add some perspective to the matter. i ordered this galaxy ultra myself. But if i am being honest, if there was no rotating bezel, i would rather they have stolen apples rectangular design, then we would have more lcd screen space compared to that circle within a rectangle. if u look careful, that circle is more or less about the same as the watch 7. but at the same time i understand how much harder it would be to make that work. cauz then u couldnt import all the rounded watch face designs for a rectangular design, and the UI they'd have to make one unique to the galaxy 7 to fit with it's rectangular screen perhaps? lots of considerations :X I'm sure they must have weighed the pros and cons.
The Ultra is an improved, feature-rich, competitive watch. I have stuck rotating bezel watches. I'm good if Samsung dropped the bezel to improve the Ultra's reliability. The Ultra supports wireless charging. It works with my wireless charging pad. The Ultra is the best Android smartwatch I've owned. The bezel would be the icing, provided it doesn't impact reliability.
I got the Galaxy watch classic a few months ago yesterday I picked up the Galaxy watch ultra the orange color for my new fold 6. I will say the ultra feels more premium. I plan to keep both watches
I nabbed the 7 44mm and love it. Bsttery life a few days in is a solid day and night. Charging is reasonably quick, the new sensora are indeed a step up and the insights are better than i was getting on my Fitbit Charge 6. This is the first wrist based device that clearly detects low blood oxygen if i nap without my CPAP machine. It also is better laid out in Samsung Health than Garmin Connect for me. Seeing how long i spend in Zone 2 during a weights workout is really cool
The galaxy watch six classic is horrible when you turn the dial nothing happens and when it does happen, it jumps two or three screens. I’ve had mine launch and it’s the worst Samsung watch yet super slow tracking is inaccurate doesn’t hold the heartbeat on certain exercise machines GPS tracking shows shows you’re in the water well away from the actual path you took. That watch is a disaster for its in accuracies alone shouldn’t be considered for the best smart watch. Great video, though!
@@cnrkrm there was another RUclipsr that had the same issues and that chipset was just horrible lagging between screens randomly. Now the ultra just runs and it’s accurate the 6 and down didn’t record gps tracks right always off over shoot corners or said you ran on lakes. If you aren’t experiencing any of these problems you’re the only one.
Reverse charging ws removed due to the new sensors that are at the back of the watch. Im sticking with my 6 classic until the next classic model comes out. But that's because im not an outdoor person and just want something nice to dress with.
I think this was an excellent review. I don't wear jewelry and I don't work out but I'm a tech guy and I've always loved watches that's why the ultra was the perfect pick for me. But I understand why a lot of people wouldn't get it if you're not into watches and technology. But I'm loving my 7 ultra

WHY, SAMSUNG, WHY KILL THE ROTATING BEZEL?? The coolest, most diferenciating feature!
I wouldn't be surprised if the rotating bezel comes back next year. It seems to skip a year. The 4, then 6, now 8. That's my guess. 😊
I see them doing the rotating bezel every other year, the same as the ultra
It's reserved for the classic, like others said, 4 classic, 6 classic, and likely 8 classic
Yes, I agree, but it seems like a dumb decision. It's like if they only wanted to sell them every other year. I don't know whether the marketing every time they ditch the bezel, good or bad, is beneficial...

After about 2 years with the watch 3, she could barely twist it. Mine moved just fine. Have the watch 6 now. No problems.
I love the 6 Classic, and I will probably wait until they release the 8 Classic. The rotating bezel is a must after you've tried it.
I love my Watch 7. Been an Apple user for 11 years but switched to Samsung and enjoying their products. The Watch 7 has been a better experience than my old Apple watch.
You've made the right choice. Welcome, pal

Yeah okey, but if you think the Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't a direct response to the Apple Watch Ultra you're delusional
@@samael651 bad day little fella?
For those that arent familiar with the "FE" term, when it comes to Samsung(and some other brands), FE is Fan Edition. Basically, it's the same as the cheaper re-hash of older hardware in a newer body. Apple does the same thing with SE, but Samsung does it cheaper lol. Take requests from fan favorite features and place it in the new body type which is usually cheaper and lighter in weight. Sometimes current generation, non-flagship, Camera configuration.
I'm sticking with my 6 classic and hoping for an 8 classic upgrade next year.

I returned my ultra and kept my watch 6 classic
@@sinigangpapi3379 ya. I had an Ultra for 3 days and decided it wasn't for me and returned it. I'm so happy with that decision. It was such a relief to have my classic back on my wrist.
Yup same here
If you have the watch 6 or even 5Pro, you don't need the 7.
I just bought a used 5 Pro (looks brand new) for a really good price and I've been loving it. It's insanely durable
Yea but it only has the w920 instead of the w1000 processor... And yes it makes a huge difference
Another point to consider is the price. A lot of the newer watches have great trade in or new line promotions.
Wait a few months and you can get a used one for a pretty discount. Samsung watches don't hold their value
@@Muhluri no wait a year and wish for the 8 classic to be released
I agree, you can't recommend the GW6 and not the 5 Pro when they are basically the same watch inside, Samsung recycled that damned chip 3 generations, while the 5 Pro is more rugged and has WAY better battery life.
If you're gonna carry a laggy watch, at least make it more durable and have better battery life huh.
I've been using the Watch 6 Classic since October, and the design of the watch is beautiful. The rotating bezel really is the best feature.
You should have included the 5 pro. The ultra is like a 5 pro but with a siren. They have the same battery size. Titanium build. But the 5 pro is substantially lighter

@@luissalas6412 5pro IMO

I have no regrets with mine. Use it more than my past watches.
Samsung removed Powershare!! That's a unforgivable downgrade!!!
Its For Emergenies , i would rather charge my 6 on the back of the phone and just getting with me one charger rather than 2 when im travelling
Watch6 is getting the energy score and also actually got sleep apnea a week before the release of the Watch7 :)
It hasn't for me.
I have gw6 and I know the watch 7 has released but I havnt got it

What size 6classic on a 7.5 wrist
I kept mine too, but I did get the 7 ultra!😂
Agree to disargree, I hated the old Samsung strap connection. Never purchased anything that wasn't designed for Samsung so I don't care it was a generic 22mm size. So glad to have an easier band clasp on my new Watch 7 Ultra. Looking forward to the new trail straps (White & Black) coming this week. I love the free orange trall strap I got with my grey Titanium.
Still happy with the 5Pro. Maybe I'll get the 8. Hopefully, that will get the rotating bezel too. With this design flip-flopping, you'll never know.
I upgraded from 5 pro to ultra. Man it's s overall a far better watch. I loved 5 pro by the way.
@@sidha22 I have no doubt and the dilver version was tempting, but for an everyday smartwatch to check the basics this sapphire, titanium and simple look is perfectly fine for me, I also love to wear my classic, automatic watches so I'll see what the 8-9 will bring.

Good choice still. I'll take better battery over some rotatory bezel.
I'm still on the watch 4 which I got a few months ago and I'd say I'm satisfied besides the bezels which aren't too bad

7:00 I like how the watch itself is legless. It's not protruding from the sides making it big for small wrist, this is a plussss
you can't reverse wireless charge because of the new advanced bio sensor, so it is hardware
Am I missing something? You can absolutely charge the Ultra by using wireless power share on the phone.

5:23 i both my watch 5 pro from cash converte in the box for £100 and it the lte model and it got same batteries specs as the ultra and its titanium
Great video. I know that regular non tapered bands look terrible on galaxy watches. The gap is a real eyesore. As in the yellow band in your video.
I'll be keeping my watch 6 classic in see what comes out next year.

Still rocking the GW3. I'll probably upgrade to the GW6 Classic cause it looks more elegant than the Ultra.
Same, but I took the GW6. 👍
Hands down the best wearable review channel. I've made so many great purchases over the years using your reviews.
As someone with a really small wrist (the galaxy 7 40 mm was slightly too big for me even) the other watches simply weren't an option for me. I switched out the galaxy 7 band to the fabric one and it fits perfectly now and is really comfortable.
There's adapters for the watch ultra so you can use your old watch bands(18mm,22mm,24mm).
Hey Mike, I love your honest videos. I wanted to buy ultra, but will buy 6 classic instead
Thanks for your kind words!
Amazon has the pin adapters for 6 bucks, so you can use any band you want.all of your old bands.
thanks for that
When your new watch 7 only lasts 20 hours on a single charge, no aod, While the watch 6 gets a day and 20 hours, same settings, you know something's wrong
Or the Watch 5 Pro lasting 80hrs with full Titanium build
Not my experience. GW7 probably slightly better and certainly quicker charging to full. Light use (no AOD) you will get very close to 2 days. Moderate use 1.5 days & heavy use no problems getting 24 hours. I don't have snore detention, AOD or continuous heart rate but pretty much everything else on.
The Samsung watches take about 1 to 2 weeks to optimize the battery to your behavior. So it will be better as I notice on my watch ultra.
I'm getting a lot better battery life out of the W7 than my W6. Maybe it's your copy.
My Ultra lasted 2 full days on the factory charge of 80 something % and I ended up charging it at around 25% at the end of day 2.
Great video Mike. I've got a 6 classic plus a Garmin venu 2. Great combo.
That sounds ideal!
13:48 I've heard its the bio sensors on the new watches. They can't do reverse charging.
Yep that's definitely it
I just got my watch Ultra.
Samsung removed Powershare!! That's a unforgivable downgrade!!!
Also need comparison with titanium build 590 mAh watch 5 pro
That rotating bezel is so elegant ❤ cant imagine anything else.
Great in-depth comparisons, the rotating bezel is why I'll stick with my Watch 6 classic
Regarding the bands for the Ultra; Amazon sells inexpensive adapter lugs so you can use your old favorite watch bands.
Thanks for the thorough video. It made me going for the galaxy watch 6 classic.
In South Africa the watch 6 classic 43mm is on sale for $275 equivalent. I nabbed one!
Great video, though!
i guess you had a faulty product. 6 classic is nothing like you have described here
@@cnrkrm there was another RUclipsr that had the same issues and that chipset was just horrible lagging between screens randomly. Now the ultra just runs and it’s accurate the 6 and down didn’t record gps tracks right always off over shoot corners or said you ran on lakes. If you aren’t experiencing any of these problems you’re the only one.
Excellent review. Always detail and research. I continue with my Watch 4 but I look favorably on the 6. Greetings from Argentina
13:25 for me charging the watch form back of the phone one of the must useful feature to have in a watch
Samsung removed Powershare!! That's a unforgivable downgrade!!!
Up!
Is the Ultra a worthy upgrade over the Classic 6, seeing some deals where can trade in and upgrade for $130-$180.
Great job on this video.
