      Thanks for watching! I love watching these kinds of videos myself so thought it would be funl to make. Plus it'll be interesting to look back one day and compare the gear I'm using now to the gear I'm using then. 👊

    Cool! You show how it is possible to set up a good studio in a small space. I'm looking forward to the editing video (with the color grading process, of course😊). Now just a tip for acoustic insulation: use some acoustic panels on the wall and ceiling, especially.

    • @thesahdstudio
      @thesahdstudio  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching 👊 and that's a good point. I guess part of me just assumed that the popcorn ceiling would stop the sound from bouncing but it's probably not very good for that and some sound panels up there might really help 👍

    I really dig the aesthetic of your studio. It looks like a very comfortable space that you would enjoy spending time in.
    For a noob like myself, would you recommend diving into Davinci Resolve or Final Cut with no prior experience of either?
    Thanks!

      Hi! Thanks for the comment. I like it too! It's fun to have an inspiring, exciting space.
      Yes, I would recommend getting comfortable with Resolve. It's just the best. You may as well start there. The free version is so good. I've been meaning to make a video talking about it and how to get started. Perhaps I'll try and get that video out sooner rather than later.
      Stay tuned!

    • @thesahdstudio
      @thesahdstudio  9 месяцев назад +1

      Ohh tasty! I'm jelly. Were there any particular features or reasons that you bought that one instead of others? I mean I know Aputure stuff has an outstanding reputation for quality but I'm just curious.

    • @tylerbeaty
      @tylerbeaty 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@thesahdstudio Reasonable cost, great looking, flexible utility (bi-color color temp + C&M adjustamnet + full color) and probably the most important features are reliability and ecosystem. They have a long lasting reputation to uphold (great for warranty) and the app works across all their products. Should I decide to add or upgrade lights in the future, this 300c can be used as a secondary or third light - Especially with the colors. I was also looking at the 120B, but wanted the flexibility of more power. I don't want to buy another keylight for some time. Buy once, cry once.

    Nice setup. I enjoyed the video. Since you’re keeping the pocket 3 I’d love to see some more in-depth videos on it. In particular the tracking feature. I’ve been considering getting one for my videos where I capture footage using different lawn mowers and equipment. Would be cool to set one up in a yard on a tripod and have it track me around the yard mowing a lawn for example. Just don’t know how good it would be at keeping track as you move around and get farther and smaller in the frame for example.

    • @thesahdstudio
      @thesahdstudio  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching! Yeah from my research and limited testingit seems like it does a pretty good job with the tracking. But it's sometimes reaches the gimbal endpoint sooner than I expected it to also. If I can put together a good video for it I will... And if I don't but play around with it I'll let you know how it does.

    Came back to this video because, as you know at this point, I like to comment on every video you make. Probably you're one of 2 youtubers that I do this with, lol. Anyway, as for light, I would highly recommend either going Colbor CL100X that I own that's pretty cheap on AliExpress and 110W bi-color, or the bigger brother CL220 which is a 220W bi-color. Why? Because they're probably the only COB lights at this price that have all-metal construction with very high CRI rating, compact build, cheap, and come with a carrying bag. I'm pretty happy with the CL100X which is in a size of a soda can! You can as well either use a power bank/V-mount battery/charger with PD100 USB-C and throw away the OEM brick. I use it with a large 120cm octagon softbox with zero worries, with 2 layers of diffusion. Planning to get the CL220 and CL330 later, and maybe a 600W+ COB in the future for outdoors. They even have CCT/RGB variants of the 60W, 120W, and 220W! Heck, I might go with the CL220R RGB.
    Now to the mic. You can use a bent/L 3.5m adapter which will help with seeing the screen and put less strain on the input/motherboard of the camera. Also for cleaner audio I usually put voice isolation to 50-80% on DaVinci Resolve Studio. Try it out. Also try some basic EQ that shows down there without the need to go to the fairlight page.
    Also totally agree with you about the teleprompter staying in a phone size. I don't think I'll ever use one but you can notice it when people are using bigger ones.
    Love your setup, although too colorful to my liking but fits you perfectly.😅

    • @thesahdstudio
      @thesahdstudio  9 месяцев назад +3

      Hahaha, love the last sentence. Oh it's definitely me that's for sure!
      Great suggestion on the L audio adapter. I will look into that.
      So let me ask you, as far as the lighting goes... I am a huge value fan so I will check out Colbor lights, but to be honest, I've never heard of them. If money wasn't a factor (even though it is, but just for discussion) would you consider Aperture or the other top brands instead?
      I will look into the Voice isolation as well. I am still building my computer... and since my workflow has been JUST on my laptop lately, I'm just using those speakers and haven't taken my audio seriously. But I'm going to up my game soon so this will become a higher priority for me in the future.
      Edit: And I always appreciate the support and time you share with me. Heck, I wish we could hang out, have tea (or beer) and chat about this stuff. But that's why I created this channel because that's in a sense what we are doing. 👊

    • @Bo_Hazem
      @Bo_Hazem 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@thesahdstudio You're definitely someone I would enjoy hanging with, but not beer so let's stick with tea, haha.
      As for the light if money isn't a factor I would get the light storm lights from Aputure for outdoor/rain as they're weather-resistant and probably the Godox Knowled 2400W light as well. Colbor for indoor/travelling light. Colbor lights have such a strong punch in a tiny package. Most Chinese brands, Aputure is one and nearly all known ones are Chinese/made in China as well, get their chips from one factory,. That's why even dirt-cheap ones have amazing CRI ratings.
      Overall Colbor offer quite fans, strong build, small(er) sizes vs competition, and priced fairly. Even in some comparisons the CL220 was nearly as bright as 300W lights due to a tech they're talking about that I didn't believe first that their lights beat similar wattage lights in luminance, and that's compared to aputure/godox. You can see the reviews for yourself as well.

    • @thesahdstudio
      @thesahdstudio  9 месяцев назад +2

      I will look into those lights, thanks. Part of the struggle I deal with as a small creator trying to grow my channel is... while I much prefer to buy items of great value, sometimes there is no demand there which means those videos fall flat. Whereas everyone searches for/wants to watch content on the more known products. You know?
      Creating videos on Apple products got eyeballs to the channel. Which is nice, but of course I don't want to beat a dead horse either and talk about it at naseum. I will talk about it while I'm researching it but once I'm done, well I only want to create videos I'm passionate about to make sure each video is fun for me to make.
      I guess what I'm saying is if you see me in the future getting products that you don't recommend (even though I asked for your opinion)... it's not because I don't listen to and think about your advice. I'm just also weighing the ability to use the items I DO buy to help me grow my channel.@@Bo_Hazem

      @Bo_Hazem 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@thesahdstudio Don't ever worry, mate! Why would you explain yourself that way, haha. See, I might be in the opposite side. When I start posting on youtube I would review stuff that have no videos on youtube but posses great value vs common alternatives. For example, I have square on camera lights that are made of aluminum, priced now at around $25-20, too sided (one RGB and one CCT), brighter than most lights in the market with much higher quality. Reviews on youtube? NONE!
      There is nothing wrong with aiming for building your channel by reviewing most commonly searched gear, but I would rather go with gear that I find value in personally and shed a light on them. For example most camera backpacks on youtube are literal garbage to me and most of the wildlife shooters. My current backpack has 200-600mm G lens, Laowa's very long 24mm macro probe lens, and loads of stuff. Most backpack reviews on youtube are useless to me and I think talking about sizeable backpacks that are padded well would help a lot of wildlife filmmakers out there instead of leaving behind essential gear.
      There are also some special use cases I made that I've never seen anyone really use to make my previous biting midge documentary film. I would probably go for a niche whether that succeeds or not it would be something I want to make. Same in your case, do stuff you like/want, weigh all things and see what's best for you, and if you wanna drag other viewers it could be like "why I chose Colbor over Apurture". No need to buy Colbor just giving you some ideas.

    I see you Sir using Dji Pocket 3 there. Let us know how is that serving your 4k desires?

      Yeah, you know, it's been handy! The weather hasn't been great where I live, so I haven't had a chance to use it as much as I hoped... but I will soon and talk more about it on the channel. I think the 4k quality is great when it has enough light, but indoors (my house) it doesn't look great.

      Awesome! Are you an Island lifer or did you move over from the mainland also?
      Okay you need the Creator's app. Then in the settings if you enable Bluetooth or Wireless if you just follow the phones instructions it's very easy to pair with the app. Every time I fire up the app on my iPad I have to join the cameras Network and then it connects very quickly.
      Let me know how it goes!!

    I am happy I found your videos! I would like to know if you do videos using iPhones. I am new to RUclips and looking to open a channel, but I can't afford an expensive camera right now. I do have an iPhone 15. -- Thanks! I like your studio. :)

      I think the iPhone 15 is a great start! A lot of people grow channels on it. Getting comfortable with your storytelling and ability to edit videos will be your main focus.... you might not be great at first but just keep making content, keep editing, and have fun. It's such a great hobby... and who knows, you might even make a few bucks with it one day!
