Flew the DC-10 at UAL for 15 years. Loved the plane. Flew all three seats and became n APD eventually. Miss the plane. Beautiful example of an RC jet. Incredible actually. I would love to see it fly up close
Love this!!!! As a retired Air Force Crew Chief that spent his last 15 years working on the KC-10A I love the RC Model!!! The only thing missing is the Center Main Landing Gear for whenever heavy weight cargo is on board. It would have been a nice touch for this aircraft.
I wondered about that - did not see any indications of wind strong enough to move the plane around like that - did not see trees swaying, the smoke (steam?) from the nearby stacks was pretty much straight up...maybe the approach to the runway was not long enough or had trees so he came in at an angle ?
There definitely was a crosswind. It wasn’t huge, but the model felt it more than I would have thought based on what I recall. Some models are just more susceptible to cross winds thanks others. My A-7 comes to mind, it hates crosswinds. 😆
@@lw216316 boys got a good sound muffler. But you could even tell by the turn after landing. The airliner had a really heavy yaw before reaching ground effect.
These guys did an exceptional job pairing fans to the airplane. At first I thought it was going to have a low blade count scream, but it sounded phenomenal. That pull up vertical reminded me of the story of the FEDEX attempted highjacking. All around, great flying and scale handling.
That's a beautiful model so realistic right up to the front wing working extentions working with flaps . I'm waiting for the day with operational thrust reversals 😊
What a fantastic model and great video work. I agree with Victor, that side slip on landing was epic! Thanks for bringing this one to us. Happy Independence Day to you and your family my friend 😎🇺🇸👍
Wow, beautiful plane, beautiful flight and beautiful landing. The DC-10was a beautiful plane, in 1982 I flew in one of them, super spacious inside. I know It had maintenance problems, mainly in the tail turbine…
Great looking scale model. Impressive work on the cross control! Camera crew does a great job also! Wondering if my missing UPS package is in there???😂
Gorgeous build and beautiful flight and landing. The spoilers and slats are phenomenal but don’t make up for the outdated motors. The sound really detracted from the overall experience. Thanks for sharing this Chris.
Very impressive DC-10F electric powered in UPS marking. Nice flight. My dad was one of test flight pilot on DC-10, still my favorite plane & looks. Too bad to keep flying passengers.
The plane was designed and built more than a decade ago with state of the art CF blades. But I agree, an upgrade of the fan blades would improve the sound and realism.
I wonder if the Model has all Defects the actual Plane has? To represent the real thing, the Model needs Cargo Doors that fall off, Engines that explode/fall off, and Control Linkages that fail...
Haha, I get it. Normally airliners don’t excite me much either, but I did enjoy seeing this one. It was very nicely built and had all the details I love to see with the spoilers and slats.

Unbelievable piece of artwork and craftsmanship...and flying skill. The harmonic howl and engine whine is so realistic on slow flyby.!!
Boy o Boy, that was a beauty!!!

United Parcel Smashers Great model.
🤣🤣
@@Thercgeek Hey hows the b58 goin?
Looks like the next attempt will be in a couple weeks. The airplanes good to go again. 😊
Looks like the crosswind was fun on landing like the real one 😅

Fantastic DC-10...How I wish it was in FedEx colors though!!!
WOW it looks so real !!! Awesome !!!
yep ! 😎 Thanks for sharing 👍
Beautiful control on that landing

NIIIIIIIIICE! What can brown do for you! 😉👍
Great landing!
Wow, awesome crosswinds landing.
WOW!!!
Cool video Chris, that landing was spectacular!! 🇺🇲🎇🇺🇲🎇
Absolutely amazing. The quality of the build as well as the flying expertise. Well done !
Wow. You never see slats on RC planes. Excellent work.
Not exactly. The AF Model T-45 has them.
Excellent model! Never seeing a UPS DC 10 but looks great

Just beautifull ! Always loved the DC-10 best wishes from Wales .
Probably has the emergency slides too the detail is very impressive

Many thanks brother!
Flies better than the real one did
Haha, nice! 😆
Nice cross-wind landing..
Fantastic plane ! Great landing 😎
Phenomenal work and craftsmanship. Great job on the flying also!
Lands about like the real thing
Well, I can’t take credit for flying it, just filming. 😊
@@ThercgeekTwas a fine landing for an RC jet in the wind

Could be! 🤣
Amazing model. Has the dreaded hair dryer sound.
Haha, yeah has some old school 4blade schubeler fans.

Make another one with bay doors to drop 5 gallons of water

Dang looks like a duck coming in for a landing. Beautiful large scale RC plane✌️
Just Beautiful!! Looks to be powered perfectly as well. The only thing that could make it better would be if it were a L-1011. Lol ha ha...
Is that three EDFs or is the vertical tail nacelle only astatic?
It was a twin with fans in the wing nacelles. The tail nacelle was just an open flow through tube essentially.
where do i buy it, i love the dc 10! and is there a smaller one if that big one isnt available to get
Velocidad máxima de vuelo
I’m not sure. He never flew a pass at full throttle/speed
curious if the slats are beneficial at these Rns?
Actually, they do help. While the gap is probably too small to be effective, you’re still getting an increase in wing area from the extension of it.
@@Thercgeek more camber too
This video should have 0 dislikes... right?
You might think so 😆
Where's the third "wheel" in the middle wings ? ^^
Can. This fly at 50% power? That would be perfect scale speed.
Any build or internal specs/details anywhere???
All the info I have is are the specs that I outlined in the description that I got from the builder/pilot.
Does it lose its engines like in real life?
No wonder my parcels are all bashed and parts broken with that landing! Nice aircraft though!
Haha, must be it! 😆
Hi where can I get the kit?
Can this plane ship my golf clubs from San Diego to Kentucky? If so, how much would it cost ☺
I think so! 😆
Wonderful build and flight....congrats.......BUT the sound is just not acceptable!!!!
The plane was designed and built more than a decade ago with state of the art CF blades. But I agree, an upgrade of the fan blades would improve the sound and realism.
@@rcnfo1197 Cool would be so much more scale....or even turbines...thast my choice of thrust... Great aircraft no matter what!!
Haha, has some old school 4blade schubeler fans in it. Still good fans, just not as audibly pleasant as his latest fans. 😊
I wonder if the Model has all Defects the actual Plane has? To represent the real thing, the Model needs Cargo Doors that fall off, Engines that explode/fall off, and Control Linkages that fail...
Haha, i think the model is more reliable in those areas. 😆
Really cool but the speed seems out of scale
Yeah I was right. Okay the take off at .5 speed and it’s perfect.
It’s mad I love flying RC planes more that anything in the world but model rc airliners do nothing for me.. I’d rather watch grass grow.. 😅
