    I live in Seoul, too. In the building I live, there is a nail salon, hair salon, rock climbing center, a bowling alley,convenience store, pilates instructor's office,pool, gym, sauna, coffee shop, dry cleaners, orthepedic surgeon' s office , another for traditional medicine, another for internal medicine and all hospitals have beds. There is a drugstore, online supermarket office ( you can not shop there but they will deliver it to your home within 15minutes if you order online) , an auditorium for performances that can be rented for events,a real estate office, even a soothsayers office. There are offices of small businesses within the buidling as well, so some people work and live here. ( for example there is the local health and national pension office here, the headquarters of a furniture company and many more)Of course there is a cafe and at least 5 restaurants. The nicest thing is that as they are all accessible via elevator, you can order food, dry cleaning services without deliver charges. Of course, there are plumbers and electricians on hold . Their services are included in the rent. There are doormen who take and keep parcels for you. There is a police station just across the street on one side and a stream and dog park to jog in just across the street on another side.We just had a dance festival there a few hours ago. There is a subway station with 2 lines a 3 minute walk away. There are 3 bus stops on three sides of the building. There are tons of shops outside . Yes, Seoul is dense as fuck but this means its convenient.

    a great tour, thanks. I like it. looks like a great mix of authentic independat places yet so close to the more build up modern areas. best of both worlds so it seems . I must look up your old videos to find out your story about how you eneded up in Korea. I am hooked and fascinated by it. Just because it is so so different to Europe. And I really like the sound of KOrean language. I always watch korean shows/movies in korean with subtitles even if they are available in english. The language is beutiful. I am 51 so do not think I woudl be learning it but every now and then, I attempt to learn a word or two.... One thing that puzzles me about korean culture is that beuty focus. It seems superficial and somewhat shallow how much people judge and comment on their looks as if they prioritise it above anything else. Coudl you talk a littel about that? I think, it is amazing that people generally look very well presented , hair cuts, clothes. I like that. and I use lots of KOrean cosmetics so i do consume that beuty standard lol. Still, it seems to be a little too emphaised maybe?

    • @시온익
      @시온익 6 месяцев назад +3

      This is my personal opinion, but I believe that the social culture of each country arises from its historical background. This is also the reason why Korea was able to quickly leap from a colonial country to a developed country, and it was because all the vested rights of the existing society collapsed during the Korean War. In places like Southeast Asia or Central and South America, even though they have a lot of resources, exploitation by existing vested interests becomes an obstacle to economic development, but in Korea, these vested interests all collapsed during the war, leading to a society where everyone is compensated for their work. So everyone worked hard, everyone lived well, and even now, the desire and hope to enter the upper class continues to be strong. So, appearance is strongly emphasized as one of the means. Unfortunately, this drug-like rapid growth ended and a withdrawal phenomenon occurred, resulting in high suicide rates and low birth rates.

    • @MishkaUK
      @MishkaUK 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@시온익 yes, all that makes sense . Kind of feels the rapid improvement in materialistic way is ahead of the emotional development in a sence of certain priorities have not yet evolved .... It is nt at all criticism, but just an observation and is just really interesting as in many ways the society is so admirable . Thank you for your explanation.

It would be about an hour walk ( 30 up and 30 back) to the area where this was all located. I used to take walks very late at night because i suck at sleeping and walking would help take my mind off of some things and burn some energy. It was so cool seeing the town in a dead silent sleeping state. i would stand in the middle of the intersections and snap my fingers and listen to the echo bounce off of everything it was so cool. i would hit up the liquor store and wawa in that area grab a 4 loco and a slim jim or something and drink/snack on the way back home. i always meant to make a video about those walks but never got around to it then we moved a year ago. korean don't take anything expensive, but I take a bicycle or an umbrella because I put the value on 'convenience'.
    In Korea, not everyone is perfectly moral too. Expensive items do not steal because they suffer a great deal of damage compared to the monetary value they earn.
    In the case of bicycles and umbrellas, they occur frequently because they can have the value to relieve the 'inconvenience' that I need right away and because they are not expensive, the damage that comes back to me is not significant.

      No need to reply to this, but my observation is that yes...
      This is a legit POV walking tour. We feel like we are in your shoes, but I think with straight vlogs, we are seeing you as the main character in the story whereas this one, you are making the audience the main character.
      I felt like I actually experienced your neighborhood!
      Also, starting with the reader with the kid walking by himself was smart...
      I really think you should do a bunch of neighborhood POV walking tours just like this.
      Maybe do your regular content but mix this style in every few videos... because I noticed your last three videos have blown up, and all three have a diverse style, so that's great...
