What about if your second language is Mandarin Chinese. I am planning to teach in South Korea in a suburb of Busan and I know three words in Korean but I can communicate effectively in Mandarin, Khmer, Vietnamese, Spanish, and Portuguese and to a lesser degree in Russian, Turkish, Tagalog, Thai, Arabic, and Farsi? what would the reaction of Koreans be if they asked me who my favorite Korean celebrity was and I told them Kim Yo Jong who is the sister of Kim Jong Un of North Korea. I have been spending my time studying the Juche ideology and the poetry created by the Kim family.

I will correct you when you said to change money at the airport. Don't. Better go down the road and find yourself a change kiosk. It is MUCH cheaper, especially if you plan on changing a bigger sum of money !
I definitely agree! But i think it is also wise to have some cash before you start going around the city. If you plan on exchanging a large sum of cash, i would also definitely recommend a kiosk or a local currency exchange station for better rates! Thanks for pointing this clarification out 😊

Hello, 🥀🥀🥀🌻🌻🌻🌼🌼🌼May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
I'm glad i found your channel. I was afraid that all Korea channels were angry young people, no offence to them. You seem sincerely interested in your subject. I pray to go to Korea within the next couple months and I will follow some of what you're saying, 감사해요 MUCHLY.👍❤🙏
Gamsahamnida! I am going to korea for a week in September, and your video gave me so many tips! I feel more at ease as I don't speak korean. I really appreciate it!
Im super afraid im going in about a year at the age of 12 or in 2 years at the age of 13 im super afraid but i know its for my better and i hope i pack well
What is it like for people with disabilities in South Korea? I am worried that someone would do something to me and I don't know what they are doing to me. I have Down Syndrome and I don't know what it is like there.
Hey i want to go in may but i am afraid because of covid and the quarantine rules. How do you manage that in you want to travel in april? Just curious. I really wanna go in may but i am so afraid that the covid rules are going to be too strict during spring. 🥹
What a wonderful introduction to So. Korea. You are so charming and inspiring. I heard from a friend how wonderful the people are and the Country itself. I am older now and travel is harder than it was when I was young. I really hope to enjoy a trip there in the near future. With your advise it should be a wonderful experience for me. Thank you so much for making this video.
You ok the taxi give us so rules, not patience and not helpful 😮person. I understand they not good in English so go there be careful quickly get in or u run after them hahahah. Korea says how good to them they worst country 🙁
Yeah, taxis off the street rarely stop for foreigners because they dont want to deal with the language barrier and having to drive through usually very crowded areas (as most tourist spots are). that's why i like using kakao taxi, because you don't have to really deal with communicating with the taxi drivers
It depends on the line you’re taking and type of bus, but it ranges from like 500won to 1500won. Tmoney cards usually provide like a 100won discount on the fares
This video is so helpful. I will be visiting for 15 days and I'm super excited but nervous. I will be going alone too but between October 3- October 17th
Wow, I was hesitant going by myself but so many in the comments are going solo; I guess I can do it as well! Potentially going alone after going to Tokyo in early March!
Thank you! Off to Korea and Japan end of Sept 2023 to mid Oct 2023. Solo too. First time in Asia and getting nervous. Watching lots of kdramas to help with my Korean!! Ha ha
As a male who is going for a trip to Korea there was no information i was looking for such as "what ever you do just dont ever do this and this". If my shoe size is 47 and im 190cm tall 100kg guy i allready know that i cant buy my self good walking shoes or clothes in a country in which people are like 30cm shorter than me on the average. I´m basically just after the information how not to find my self in a local prison. PS. i dont drink + i know how to act appropiately (so if there is like somekind of a holy statue no one can touch etc. i would like to know)
There isnt really anything like that, so if you avoid vandalism, promoting violence, and other normal criminal activities, i think you’ll be fine in avoiding the local jails
Yay! Thanks for the Info! I want to visit maybe October of next year if not maybe spring of 2024. 😊 This is very helpful. I have a while but I wanna save some money. I Especially need to leave space in my suitcase! I tend to overpack but I definitely wanna bring home some goodies!
I meet a south Korean woman today, she was my Uber passenger we spoke Thai and Urdu and Spanish together for a split moment she was awesome and told me I should visit Korea ,, I wish I would of asked her what her name was maybe she could of helped me learn her language. If it's meant we will meet again, I love everything about Asia. I am from North America however I feel I should of been born somewhere in Asia
i like using papago as a translator (google translator is fine too if you dont want to download yet another app haha) as for learning the language, honestly i dont have a good rec. i used duolingo for a while but i honestly learned better with immersive experience
I uploaded a shop with me vlog at olive young a while back and talk a bit more about kbeauty shopping. But would love to know what kind of information are you looking for in particular?
it really depends on personal preference and how easy it is to get to your hotel. also how comfortable you are with lugging your stuff around. honestly. i've taken all of them haha and they all have their pros and cons. taxi is obviously more expensive, but more convenient since it's door-to-door drop off. i personally preferred the train, since it was easy to switch to the metro lines, and it wasn't as expensive. the cheapest way is def the bus, but loading and offloading your luggage is the most hassle here.
Very useful information - 너무 감사합니다. Our family of 4 plans to visit 서울 과 성남시 in July/August but sadly the weather sounds like it will be terrible :o( 영국에서 인사드립니다 !
I felt like that my 1st time too. Study the map of Korea, learn how to pronounce the names of cities, do this everyday and things will sink in, the fear will slip away. Most importantly is to have your cell working there so you can call your friend(s) if lost and get the business card of the place you are staying at in case you get lost, you can catch a taxi back to the hotel.
My fear was getting lost from my wife or the group I'm with, as soon as you turn your back for a while this can happen, with hundreds of people walking around, I told my wife who is Korean, if I disappear I'll go to the nearest police station and wait, you can tell the cab driver to take you there and wait or maybe a Starbucks in the area or 7-11
Who is your BTS and BLACKPINK bais??? Mine is jimin and rose but I am not there jimirose or rosjim idk what is it any way I am not jimin and rose shipper
Thank you for all your tips! I am planning to travel with my senior mom and 8 years old daughter. Is it advisable to get a package tour? Or to we can do it by diy? I am just worried about commuting with the elder. Thank you again!
I’ve never done a package tour in korea before but there are definitely perks to it. I personally like wandering cities so i would prefer to book day trip tours if anything. Klook or trazy usually has a lot available
i've travelled to seoul twice with my parents but i'm going just with my friends for the first time for our grad trip!! i'm very nervous because i've never planned a trip before and my parents and i often got around seoul by using our chinese knowledge to guess the words, but i'm as great at reading chinese myself. can't wait for the trip though!!
So exciting!! I literally used papago to translate everything everywhere so don’t worry! Getting acquainted with the transportation system is usually my greatest fear when visiting a place, but you’ve already been before so you got this!!!
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy thanks!! it helps that i’m from hong kong so i’m very used to a similar transport system hahaha- definitely going to download pagogo as well as write down the korean stations names of where we’re planning to go
Hello! really liked the tips. I have one question, what are the wifi eggs and sim card exactly for? idk if I'll need it, since im visiting only for 11 days and korea has free wifi everywhere...? Saludos desde España!
It is pretty easy to get wifi around korea (most cafes/restaurants have the password posted somewhere near the cash register or at the bottom of receipts for patrons) but i liked to have some sort of access to wifi or data for navigation purposes and peace of mind. Didn’t want to get stranded and stressed without knowing how to get home 😅
The wifi egg is a portable router and the sim card has data and calls options (2gb, 4gb, 8gb of internet data and unlimited calls) I'll be in korea in sept for 14days as well! 🤩 and i always get the wifi egg w/o the sim card-since I didnt need to make calls, having wifi egg was enough! Yes, there are lots of places with wifi but i recommend getting your own bc you'll need to get around 🤣 Espero que haya sido de ayuda, espero que disfrutes de tu estadia en mi pais💜
i would recommend exchanging so you have some on hand. A lot of street food stands and shops only take cash. You can exchange via your bank before you travel or exchange it in seoul when you land. Exchange rates are usually better in the city instead of at the airport but i like to play it safe and have some at the start of my travels, so up to you where you would like to exchange your money :) hope this helps!

God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.
Im glad that you enjoyed my videos and i hope you get to visit Korea soon!
I am going from April 29 to May 10 2024 to Séoul. Is there anyine who is travelling that time and want to meet up? The more the merrier.

I'll be in Seoul starting from the 4th of September and I'm super excited!!
Do they have any hydroponics in S Korea 💨💨💨 ⛽️????
Very helpful video, thank you! I’m planning to go to Seoul in April so I found your channel right on time:)
So glad you found it helpful! :)
Hey i want to go in may but i am afraid because of covid and the quarantine rules. How do you manage that in you want to travel in april? Just curious. I really wanna go in may but i am so afraid that the covid rules are going to be too strict during spring. 🥹
thanks for this! I might travel to Korea in April and I'm so excited!
환영합니다 감사합니다 어서오세요!
I am going to Korea on the 1st April 2023. I think that's the best time of the year. I am going alone.
This was a huge help! Will be traveling there this summer! Thank you
I’m so glad! Hope you have the best trip!!
Superslow for not a lot of content
You ok the taxi give us so rules, not patience and not helpful 😮person. I understand they not good in English so go there be careful quickly get in or u run after them hahahah. Korea says how good to them they worst country 🙁
Yeah, taxis off the street rarely stop for foreigners because they dont want to deal with the language barrier and having to drive through usually very crowded areas (as most tourist spots are). that's why i like using kakao taxi, because you don't have to really deal with communicating with the taxi drivers
Thank you for this video!!! Question regarding public transport, mainly metro/bus, around how much is the fare price typically?
It depends on the line you’re taking and type of bus, but it ranges from like 500won to 1500won. Tmoney cards usually provide like a 100won discount on the fares
10 to 12k? meanwhile me hitting 20k lol its so easy to do!
I'm moving to Korea permanently so this is SO helpful thx so much!! 😄
so excited for you! And glad this was helpful :)
환영합니다 환영합니다!
Thank you great info..so I'm black American should I expect anything as far as feeling excluded in shops or just traveling around?
I can’t really speak to specifics because i honestly don’t know, but i would imagine there would be lots of staring
Do Korean women like date guys from the US 🇺🇲?
Thank you! Off to Korea and Japan end of Sept 2023 to mid Oct 2023. Solo too. First time in Asia and getting nervous. Watching lots of kdramas to help with my Korean!! Ha ha
Hahaha definitely the best way to practice korean 🤪
Solo traveler here anyone solo travelling in korea this october?
South k seems so beautiful way better then north k
10k steps is a lot? I walk 10-14k everyday while I walk my dog and during holidays at least 20-25k per day
you must have great walking shoes then!
Yay! Thanks for the Info! I want to visit maybe October of next year if not maybe spring of 2024. 😊 This is very helpful. I have a while but I wanna save some money.
I Especially need to leave space in my suitcase! I tend to overpack but I definitely wanna bring home some goodies!
Haha yes definitely! Or there’s always buying a last minute suitcase for the trip home 😂😅
She spoke in Urdu. Was she a Pakistani ?
just a tourist point as other Asian city. no speical
gamsahabnida 🙂
heyy ,what are the best and accurate apps you could recommend to learn korean language/translator?
i like using papago as a translator (google translator is fine too if you dont want to download yet another app haha) as for learning the language, honestly i dont have a good rec. i used duolingo for a while but i honestly learned better with immersive experience
What about people who smoke? Are there designated smoking areas?
Yes, great question! There are designated smoking areas, especially next to malls and commercial buildings
Not many vlogs with the info for shopping cosmetics and clothings in Korea
I uploaded a shop with me vlog at olive young a while back and talk a bit more about kbeauty shopping. But would love to know what kind of information are you looking for in particular?
But do I take a taxi from the airport to the hotel or take a bus and haul all my luggage? 🤔
it really depends on personal preference and how easy it is to get to your hotel. also how comfortable you are with lugging your stuff around. honestly. i've taken all of them haha and they all have their pros and cons. taxi is obviously more expensive, but more convenient since it's door-to-door drop off. i personally preferred the train, since it was easy to switch to the metro lines, and it wasn't as expensive. the cheapest way is def the bus, but loading and offloading your luggage is the most hassle here.
5:01 Line 2 is very crowded at rush hour
Ok first video I watched of you so you are not in or living in South Korea now ? Are you born from Korea where you at now? I'm confused 😂
No i just like to travel there a lot haha I’m Taiwanese-American and usually based in Hawaii or California, but I like to travel in East Asia!
can you please telll me the name of the sides please? I cant find them by gussing how to spell them. Otherwise big thank you
Im not sure which you are referring to, could you provide the timestamp and ill do my best :)
🤥
If you got the time it would be really nice if you make a video all about the currency from US currency to SK currency and explain how it works! 😊
Very useful information - 너무 감사합니다. Our family of 4 plans to visit 서울 과 성남시 in July/August but sadly the weather sounds like it will be terrible :o( 영국에서 인사드립니다 !
i’m glad it was helpful! you never know tho, the weather might be in your favor during your trip! 🤞🏻
Hi! from canada! Do you know if the PCR testing is still required at arrival?
Hi! Yes i believe there is still a requirement to take a PCR test upon arrival and to upload those results to the qcode
I'm planning on going to Korea. I admit I'm scared. I'm scared of flying over the ocean, and I'm scared of accidentally being disrespectful
My fear was getting lost from my wife or the group I'm with, as soon as you turn your back for a while this can happen, with hundreds of people walking around, I told my wife who is Korean, if I disappear I'll go to the nearest police station and wait, you can tell the cab driver to take you there and wait or maybe a Starbucks in the area or 7-11
Hi, just traveled to s korea in Nov and found the tips super relevant and accurate
Great to hear! Hope you had a great trip :)
Who is your BTS and BLACKPINK bais???
Mine is jimin and rose but I am not there jimirose or rosjim idk what is it any way I am not jimin and rose shipper
i dont really have a bts or blackpink bias hahaha but if i had to choose tho - for bts, it would be V and I really respect Lisa in blackpink 😊
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy oh great👍🏻
This video is so helpful! I feel a lot better for my trip coming soon :)
I’m so glad! I hope you have an awesome time!
환영합니다!
i've travelled to seoul twice with my parents but i'm going just with my friends for the first time for our grad trip!! i'm very nervous because i've never planned a trip before and my parents and i often got around seoul by using our chinese knowledge to guess the words, but i'm as great at reading chinese myself. can't wait for the trip though!!
So exciting!! I literally used papago to translate everything everywhere so don’t worry! Getting acquainted with the transportation system is usually my greatest fear when visiting a place, but you’ve already been before so you got this!!!
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy thanks!! it helps that i’m from hong kong so i’m very used to a similar transport system hahaha- definitely going to download pagogo as well as write down the korean stations names of where we’re planning to go
환영합니다 감사합니다 어서오세요!
즐거운 한국 여행 하세요.
Hello! really liked the tips.
Thanks for all the great tips! I'm looking forward to my trip? Haven't been back to Korea in almost 20 years.
Oh wow! I’m sure much has changed since then. Hope you have a great trip :)
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy, все меняется. Но самое смешное, зашли в кафе, мужа вспомнила хозяйка кафе, а он там не был лет 10. Вот это память на лица.
Hey girls, I’m goin to be in South Korea in Dec 2023 between 8th to 23rd. If anyone wants to do some activities n chill together, hmu💜
Thanks for the info ☺️ It’s all very helpful info 👍🏼
glad you liked it!
Marami bang Koreans everywhere. Sa Seoul that can speak English??? I want to travel solo po.
hey , i am planning on visiting seoul but do i need South Korean money …. Cause i only have usd…
i would recommend exchanging so you have some on hand.
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy thank you so much
Thank you so much for this video! I've been watching a compilation of travel tips for Korea this whole month, but this one was very helpful! I really appreciate it and love your personality.
❤Can I go at 13-14??? I'm 13 now and I'm turning 14 this year and I really want to go but I don't have a place to stay and PLUS I live with my grandparents and my grandma think south Korea is North Korea and also she thinks it cost a lot of money..😢
This is really useful 😭thank you so much , took notes for my trip this upcoming March!🫶🏻
yay! im so glad it was helpful! i hope you have a great trip :)
환영합니다!
Thank you so much for the video! Very informative! My brother and I just bought our tickets yesterday!! We leave for South Korea on the 18th of April. We are super stoked!! We’ve been wanting to do this for 3 years now. The only thing I’m worried about is not wanting to leave 😅
Thank you again!!
Your travel guide/tip video is a lifesaver for clueless travelers like me! Your tips are so down-to-earth and easy to follow. Speaking of which, have you come across the v4 Bento Bag by NomadLane? It is the solution you've been looking for.
Y’all I’ll be in Korea on the starting 15th of May 2023 anyone want to meet up? I love food but I ain’t a party girl ❤ (hate clubbing so .. yeah ?
And also I'm moving there for like.. awhile probs LIVING there- how do I do that 😭
