Hi there! I apologize for taking so much time off, if you follow my other socials I had numerous issues last year. Besides burn out, this video was filmed last year and was supposed to be my last video of 2023 but I had issues with the sponsor on it at the time. Anyway, if you follow my instagram (@josieliftsthings) travel and filming for this year is well underway and videos here and on my second channel are starting again 😊 Good to be back!

I used to live Seoul to 7 years (1996-2002) with one year prior in another city. Every year on my way to USA I stop for a few days for visiting friends. Seoul is ever changing and Koreans are hardworking and on the other spectrum are hard partying. Lived in the Hongdae area, office was first on Samsungdong then Insa dong and my church and gym are we in myungdong. Neighborhoods change from one year to another. Was in Seoul end of March for 24 hour and will be back next week for a week. It’s crazy how it changed but what I love about Koreans is that since I spoke Korean (out of practice so it takes a day or two to get back into the rhythm. Being an American I see how Asia is far more advanced and I’ve moment you arrive in an American airport you die comparing to the convenience of Incheon, Singapore or Suvarnabhumi Bangkok airports.

@@sc33h3o3 advanced as in security, immigration at the airport took me in incheon 8 minutes total upon arriving, but arriving at SFO, it took me 23 minutes with immigration alone. Btw leaving SFO -one flight to Narita and this last flight to Incheon-both times my luggage arrived broken. The response was little different. All Nippom air response was -that USA fault not ours, Asiana air actually exchanged my broken suitcase for a new one in the airport (got to choose my size and color of what they had in stock and not bad selection). Both airlines and Thai airways have told me that the number of damaged luggage from San Fran is pretty much a guarantee that one out of every 100 pieces will be either damaged or destroyed beyond being able to continue.

As a Korean, I wouldn't particularly recommend Myeongdong to foreigners. While it is undoubtedly the most famous area, I believe there are better places to spend your time that are more authentic, more representative of Seoul, and more traditional. Myeongdong, simply put, is more typical than traditional. It is a place where overpriced souvenirs that appear "Korean" but lack genuine roots are sold, and it is also very crowded. When foreigners visit Korea, I think the unique vibe of Korea is a significant factor (since we lack vast natural landscapes). Therefore, if one wants to experience Korea's indie culture, I would suggest Hongdae. For traditional culture, Gyeongju is ideal, where one can feel the coexistence of life and death through the numerous tombs scattered around daily streets and villages, as well as the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. Jeonju Hanok Village is another excellent choice for traditional experiences. Insadong in Seoul has traditional aspects, but its current appearance is far from traditional and is overly commercialized in a negative way, offering little value. For a lively seaside city experience, Busan is great, and while Jeju Island has everything, its downside is the extreme expense.

Koreans use kiwi to make sauce for sandwiches, I love it so much. 😊

Classic Korean food has no chili and doesn’t have much oil. Kimchi was also white. Korean ancestral rite tables for traditional holiday are proof.

Love the caricatures!! . . . could be nicer if colored . . . Great vlog!! . . . BTW, fishes don't die when pond freezes. They just stay at the bottom where it's warmer. . . then they hibernate (like in a state of suspended animation). . . so stay warm in S.Korea Josie and Michael!!

That’s what I always say about tteobokki. That’s why I like getting jjajang rapokki, it’s got ramen, tteobokki and jjajang sauce so there’s more sweetness and flavor. Tteobokki tastes like nothing to me. You gotta be careful w Korean food sometimes our palettes aren’t used to the spice and that’s all we experience when we eat the food. Aka me. Even eating creamy carbonara ramen from buldak it is so spicy it literally hurts so I have to make my own cheese ramen instead of buying it.

Hello Josie & Michael👋👋👋 This was amazing, I enjoyed seeing the markets and historic Seoul, very cool stuff👍👍👍 To answer your question, fish go into a form of hibernation, they burrow down into soft sediments and rest bc their heart, metabolism etc slows down like a bears does during hibernation. TYFS, take good care and see you soon🤞♥️🙏💫✨👼🏻✨💫🙏♥️

I was also curious about the report, so I looked it up :) The temperature is a little higher as it goes down to the winter ice, so they gather there and live (written with a translator)
I don't know if anyone else wrote it.
it's good posting, cheer up ❤

It always helps to keep warm by zipping up your jacket. It must be cold to bare your chest in minus 5degC. We come from scandinavia, so we know about keeping warm. ;)
