Thank you so so much for this video, sincerely. I am flying over there in about 2 months, for a month. I am travelling alone and whilst I do speak english and somewhat korean (studiying for the past 3 years), I get anxious in crowded big spaces. I know my brain can keep it cool in the moment, but being away for this long and alone, is a first so I’m guessing my anxiety will be going through the roof. Probably won’t be able to breathe until I finally get to my apartment. But again, this video has taken off some weight off my shoulders, thank you 🥹🫶🏻

Just noting that currently (November 2024) for Australians at least, the K-ETA is optional. You can simply fill out an Arrival Card on arrival in S.Korea. You can choose to get a K-ETA and it will mean you don't need to fill out the arrival card. This information is shown when you apply for a K-ETA online.

i am a part time wheelchair user and i'm so glad to hear about the info center :) i've heard that the public transportation elevators are not always reliable, but i will try to just overcome my worries haha traveling as a mobility-limited person is always nerve-wracking, especially in the winter because i can't predict the snow-wheelchair interaction 🥲 if you can ever make a full wheelchair guide with a local wheelchair user that would be so cool, but no pressure

Very informative video! Are there any lounges or sleeping zones in the arrival area? I will be arriving in Incheon at 12am but will need to wait 5 hours before Gimpo airport opens! 😅
Will you be going to T1 or T2? T1 has the jjimjilbang (mentioned in the video). What is the exchange rate at the global bank atms in the incheon airport vs Seoul Central station? Would it be better to exchange in Seoul Central station or where would you recommend getting the best rate?
Thanks! I guess it depends on where you're starting from. From baggage claim to the express train - probably 15-20 minutes, I guess. There's some elevators/escalators involved.
Thanks for this video. Question : you said that for the bus you have to buy your ticket with you credit card. Can you use your t-money card too for your bus trip ?
Do you mean for the airport buses? I assume you do - in which case, no - you can't use T-Money for that. You can use them on public buses around the country though. This is so very helpful. I’ll be visiting S Korea spring 2025 & I have a few questions. I’m from the Inited States, will I only need a K-ETA? Also, I will have prescription medication with me, do you have any advice?
You will also need the other documents mentioned such as valid passport with at least 6 months validity, return ticket, etc. For prescriptions, it shouldn't be a problem. However you should research to find out as some medications are prohibited. I would also make sure the prescriptions are in their original bottle, and have a prescription just in case. If they are simple things (like blood pressure or cholestrol or whatever) then you won't have any problems.
Thank you. My advice is to 100% apply for a new passport right now. It's possible (or even likely) that your airline may not even let you board. And if they do, you may not be allowed to enter the country and will be sent back. Sorry for the bad news, but hopefully there is still time for you to get a new passport!
@@lonelytraveltales2860Naver Map requires your phone number to create your account. And if you are outside Korea and want to download NAVER map, it could be challenging to verify your account before you arrive in korea!
Thanks so much for your great video. Can you pay the T money card with the U.S. credit card or it has to be cash? And do they have any ATM where we can withdraw cash at the Gimpo airport? And can U pay the train/subway/bus with your credit card or do you have to have a T money card to pay for transportation in Seoul? Thanks so much for your prompt response.
It really is a chore. RUclips has a function that allows me to blur faces pretty easily using their software, but it doesn't look so great. I just kinda do the best I can and hope nobody gets angry as Korea has some pretty strict laws about things like that (even if you're in a very public place like an airport).
It really depends on how much traveling around you plan to do. I would put 20,000 KRW on it to start. You can always get a refund if you don't use it all. I am still a newbie when it comes to new tech. I have an old Samsung S9 phone I plan to use when we visit South Korea in November. Should I purchase an e-sim or plain SIM card? Will I be able to navigate in South Korea with just using the SIM card in my phone? Or do I have to buy portable wi-fi / internet at the airport? Please advise. Thanks.
I'm not sure about your specific phone, but if you get a SIM card in Korea, you won't need the portable wi-fi as that's what the SIM is for. And yes, that will be all you need. Hi, I wanted to ask you if you recommend me to buy the Discover Seoul card or the T-money card... Or do I need to buy both? I am a little bit confused 😕
They're a bit different. T-Money: transportation Discover Seoul Pass: admission into different attractions Now, the Discover Seoul Pass can be used as a T-money card, as long as you load cash onto it. But if you choose not to get a DSP, then def buy a T-Money card.
Great video. What options are available to get to Seoul in the situation that a flight arrives late into Incheon, around 11pm to 12am? I noticed the trains do not seem to run late after midnight.
Hey, when i went to Korea last year you needed a Q-Code (which you could still get at arrival but it was more convenient to do it before the flight) is that still needed and if not, do you need anything else? And my country doesn't need a K-ETA but I heard it is quicker to just get one beforehand. Can i still get one?
The Q-code seems to change based off of where you're flying from. I heard someone coming from the UK had to fill one out, but others didn't. I think it depends if you have any outbreaks in your country. If you don't need a K-ETA, I don't see the purpose in spending money on one. I'm sure you can though. i was hoping the nap zone would be mentioned because we are arriving at incheon airport around midnight and leaving for the flight back early in the morning 😣
Hello @TastesSEOULGood good evening! How can passenger arriving in terminal 2 after immigration and luggage claim can go to terminal 1 arrival area to meet other passengers? We will travel together from terminal 1 to the hotel. thank you
How long does it take to get through security, grab cards Sims etc and get on the express train. Approximately as I appreciate it depends how busy it is. I arrive next Tuesday at 4pm hopefully not too busy.
Welcome to Korea! There are far too many variables to accurately predict how long it will take. I would allow roughly 2 hours though, if it's your first time in the airport as it will take some time to locate things. Best of luck!
Hi from Indianapolis Indiana thanks for all this is so helpful I'm trying to go to Korea next year on God's will I really need a visa with my USA passport? What cities are closest to the airport please and thank you, have a wonderful day.

This was timely! Thank you so much for walking us through. Can't wait for our upcoming trip!
Have fun!

i am a part time wheelchair user and i'm so glad to hear about the info center :)
i've heard that the public transportation elevators are not always reliable, but i will try to just overcome my worries haha
traveling as a mobility-limited person is always nerve-wracking, especially in the winter because i can't predict the snow-wheelchair interaction 🥲
if you can ever make a full wheelchair guide with a local wheelchair user that would be so cool, but no pressure

Very informative video! Are there any lounges or sleeping zones in the arrival area? I will be arriving in Incheon at 12am but will need to wait 5 hours before Gimpo airport opens! 😅

What is the exchange rate at the global bank atms in the incheon airport vs Seoul Central station? Would it be better to exchange in Seoul Central station or where would you recommend getting the best rate?
Hey man, awesome video! How far is the walk from the airport to the express train? 15mins slow walk?

@@TastesSEOULGood yeah i was talking about them. Airport Buses that drive you to the cities. Thank you for your response.
Does the climate card work with the express train? Tia
Such a nice video! One question, when I come in September I will have 4 months validity left on my passport. What’s your thought on this?
Thank you.
My advice is to 100% apply for a new passport right now. It's possible (or even likely) that your airline may not even let you board. And if they do, you may not be allowed to enter the country and will be sent back.
Sorry for the bad news, but hopefully there is still time for you to get a new passport!
Important!!! Do not use Kakao Navigation it is only in Korean. Use Naver Map instead you can change to english what makes it easier.
I literally use Kakao Maps in English.
Do you mean for driving?
@@TastesSEOULGood oh, i did not find the english option. On Naver i found it and it sgow public transport
T Money has to be paid with cash. Yes, there are plenty of ATMs in Gimpo as well.
You'll need the T Money card to use the buses, etc in Seoul.
How do you determine who to blur? Seems it would be an impossible task.
It really is a chore. RUclips has a function that allows me to blur faces pretty easily using their software, but it doesn't look so great. I just kinda do the best I can and hope nobody gets angry as Korea has some pretty strict laws about things like that (even if you're in a very public place like an airport).
We’re staying in Seoul for 3-4 days so how much do you recommend putting on the T money card for three days?
It really depends on how much traveling around you plan to do. I would put 20,000 KRW on it to start. You can always get a refund if you don't use it all.

Fabulous video - wish I had this last year - I never took a breath or appreciated the airport - in 3 weeks time I will be back - thank you 🇬🇧🫶🇰🇷🇬🇧
Thanks! Better late than never I guess 🤣
The most intimidating thing is figuring out how to get to Seoul. So many options!

T-Money: transportation
Discover Seoul Pass: admission into different attractions
Now, the Discover Seoul Pass can be used as a T-money card, as long as you load cash onto it. But if you choose not to get a DSP, then def buy a T-Money card.
Hi There
Hi Natasha!
Enjoy the video :)
Question is there a charge for using the atm

I'm not familiar with a "nap zone"... but Ai did include the jjimjilbang. That's a good place to spend a few hours.
Hello @TastesSEOULGood good evening! How can passenger arriving in terminal 2 after immigration and luggage claim can go to terminal 1 arrival area to meet other passengers? We will travel together from terminal 1 to the hotel. thank you
What is your opinion on the Climate card? Our plan is to just stay in seoul for 5 days.
Hi is there luggage space in the Arex All Stop train?
If you watch the video, you can see it. But yes, there is space between each car for luggage.
Hi, from my hometown as well :)
