Mary California wants you back!
🤣🤣
Looks very serene, Mary. Nice video. thanks
Thank you Tom! 😊
Nice photography on a grey day Mary. I used to live near thousands of acres of BLM land along the Sacramento River, in Northern California. Rolling oak covered hills, high plateaus, and rock outcroppings where you could walk all day off trail. There's something magical about just wandering where you please and not sticking to a trail - your video reminded me of those tranquil, carefree days of just wandering and roaming where my whims took me.
There is something special about not sticking to a trail isn't there! Thanks so much for your lovely comment Steve.
Beautiful views.
Randomly I had just commented on Stanage Edge on your announcement vlog and I thought I'd pick another vlog to view. I did have to chuckle to myself when you said 'I'm not doing a long walk today, just 8 miles'. As a Thru-Hiker it isn't a long walk, but when I parked at Higger Tor and hiked to High Neb and Stanage Pole and back I was wiped out and ached for 2 days afterwards. But to you it isn't a long hike. I so wished I had started hiking younger rather than leaving it until 60. My first Ethel was Mam Tor. Just walking that from Blue John Caves wiped me out. Long Covid. But as I hike more Ethels I find that I am improving. But it has played havoc on my system but determined not to give up without a fight I'm bagging 3 to 6 Ethels a week. I am loving your channel Mary and wanted to thank you for these uploads. So much insight, so much research and crafted vlogs. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so very much for your comment and kind words, I really do appreciate it 😊
Lovely happy lady , so inspiring
So kind of you to say Dave!
Loved this hike! The weather, the sheep, the terrain, the views!
Yay😁
I truly enjoyed your hike! One day we get to come enjoy England. Beautiful!
Thanks so much Donnie!
What beautiful shades of green all around you. That looks like such a nice area to hike and do a lot of hikers use this trail? That was an easy water crossing. The scenery is beautiful. The birds chirping was nice. Lovely background music. Enjoyed you trying to fly. Blessings and safe hiking and adventures.
It really is a beautiful area! It is quite a popular area to hike in, but I didn't stick to the popular trails (and went off across the moors a lot) so hardly came across anyone.
Thanks for sharing
O, Mary, such a lovely refreshing video,
You have a wonderful face, but I love all the scenery, the green, sheep, pine, rocks, and most of all the water. How we need this at this time of sheltering in place still. Following you and a few others last year was always a highlight and have missed it during this time. Bless you and stay safe and happy.
Thanks so much Joan, I am so pleased you liked it!
I am so glad you are sharing this! I'm still catching up on videos when I can as I'm caring for my mother on hospice, so things are unpredictable and stuff like that. But your videos are wonderful when I can get to them. Thank you!!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much Allen and I hope your mother is doing well ☺️
What a beautiful video Mary! I miss England so much and at first I thought you were walking the Roaches :) I'll have to tell my BF about this route and hopefully we can walk it in the near future. We did a longer walk last year in that area including Luds Church, which was magical. Glad to see you out and about in the hills again and hope that you two can do your planned longer hike soon! Thank you :)
Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed it. Hoping to do the Cleveland Way soon!
A very nice ramble Mary. There were a few more prehistoric sites along your walk. Next time check out the maps on Megalithic Portal, and it will show the circles, standing stones, cairns, ring cairns, settlements, tombs, etc. There are three stone circles in that area.
Thank you! Will do!
fun
Amazing video sweetheart 😘 I’m sure you would have taken off if you wasn’t wearing your backpack 🤣🤣
Thank you so much darling - it certainly was quite windy wasn't it!!
Great Scott it's Tinkerbell on the loose !!!!!!!!
Very much appreciate the guided tour girl !!!
Its very beautiful out ur way ¡!!! 😃😁 It's like watching u trying do a PCT vlog w all the wind !!!! And ur hair going every which way !!!! ( Which personally I find to be very charming ) yep kinda like the old trail days. I REALLY hope you ( & Derek 😁) will a one-point be able to get out there and do a decent length backpack trip so that we can all relive the Tinkerbell days!!!!!
not that I don't really enjoy what you been doing Mary, but, I really miss those days out on the trail with you ! May God bless you.
AND, as always, keep on rocking the free world ☺️
🤣 Thank goodness for buffs!! Hoping to do the Cleveland Way soon as we couldn't do it when we originally planned so I'll be on trail properly again soon!
it's SO green !!!!!! hey mary its grand watching u keep pulling ur hair back and trying to talk do 2 the wind !!!! y??? cuz it reminds me off u out on the PCT trucking along trying to do a vlog !!! 🙂🙂🙃 such a different and beatiful area. Go Tinkebell !!!!
It really is, we have had a lot of rain here recently. Awwwh, I didn't realise I did that with my hair - thank goodness for buffs 🤣
Good to see your smiling face on the trail again. Your weather appears similar to the Oregon weather as ours continues a dance between cool rain and warm sunny days here in July. Thanks for the nice break in my day and the lovely sights.
Thank you so much and really happy you enjoyed it!
Beautiful country! I don’t think I’ve ever seen sheep with tails like that. 🙂
Me, my wife and our dog love walking around Ladybower. Have you ever been when the water level is low so you can see the old town that got flooded?
It's a great area isn't it! Yes I have - I never knew about it before I saw it so it really was fascinating.
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures Another thing to see there is when they fly over with the old planes to remember the war as they practiced dropping the dam buster bombs!
How refreshing to watch in our 105F (~40C) Texas weather, the clouds, fog and rain makes it look very mystical
Beautiful scenery, the sheep are gorgeous and the rock formations are pretty amazing.
Thank you Mary, it’s always so enjoyable 🤗❤️
So Glad you enjoyed it Anita 🤗
oh i'll be walking up that way in a few weeks.. a little less of the wet stuff i'm hoping (don't mind walking in it it's just all the faff when you're camping.. drying the tarp out etc. [1st world problems ;) ]
i think Mr Blake couldn't spell 'peeing it down' so opted for green with his pleasant lands ;) great stuff Tinkerbell!
Have a great time and yes I know what you mean about rain and camping - not the best!
💖
Mary, thanks for taking us along on your hike. The beautiful, lush countryside was awesome!
You are so welcome Jimmy!
Thanks so much, Mary, for sharing the lovely English countryside!
My pleasure Karen!
Lovely video, always enjoy what you do, and plenty to share in the Peaks, hopefully you're able to travel further afield by now
Thanks so much Andrew!
Beautiful video. Love the deep greens and all the rocks. Thank you for sharing countryside that I have never hiked. Awesome!
It is certainly very green here with all the rain we have been having recently. Glad you enjoyed it Betty😊
Well, that was a pleasant day 😊
😊
Beautiful views but look at the erosion been caused on the footpath
😊💖🐶🐶
What a beautiful, green country! Such an old landscape, but still wild and wind-sculpted. I would love to hike there someday. Meanwhile, I've got you to thank for showing us this little part of heaven. This is now two countries you have shown us, and I will keep on watching to see more. BTW/I really liked the soundtrack of this video, as well. Best wishes from 90-degree/80 percent humidity US East Coast.
Thank you so very much John, I am so glad you enjoyed it as it was a lot of fun to hike!
A slightly soggy but wonderful hike. Your song of flight was superb! Thanks Tink!
Thanks Keith, I couldn't leave that out it was too funny🤣
Ya gotta break that 7K barrier think Ben Nevis as for history google James Burke (Irish) Connections, Death in the Morning WOW that will blow people over the history angle is great
Thanks so much...I know I'm sooooo close 🤣 Maybe my wild camping one this weekend might tip me over😁 I've added your suggestions to my ever growing list so thank you for that!!
Soooo Mary did ya pack out the golf ball 🤨 Also thanks for the history
Glad you liked it!
Ayup mary...that woh luvly ....meks mi ohm sik....cheers cocker. .. from a northerner down south...☺👍
'Ow Do Paul! Eeh Ba Gum, Yer a reet Bobby dazzler 🤣
Hi Mary, I'm hoping to do a walk later in the week in the same area. We should get better weather, but with armor on (Gortex) the slings and arrows of bad weather are deflected, no reason not to walk in the rain.
Iain
Sounds great, I totally agree about the weather - especially day hiking as you know at the end of the day you will be warm and dry again. Some times you can't beat a moody weather day!
Thanks Mary. Such beautiful landscape. How did you navigate areas where the track was less clearly marked? Did you have a map or use an app?
I use the OS map as well as the app. I plotted my route before I left too.
Great video. New subscriber here. 😊👍
Thanks for subbing Ell Of A Walk 😁
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures you're welcome. Loving your channel😊👍
Maria (Mary), is there a natural cave in England in the middle of the bush? You know the nature of various places
Hi, where did you park your car if I may ask? I want to go there next saturday and first time when I was there I parked somewhere next to the bridge and walk through forest but Ive heard there is a much easier route to the top from the right side of the cliffs with nice parking. Any tips?
This is where I parked - let me know if you cannot open it! goo.gl/maps/eLbk4k5P3Q6qCZUd6 It was on New Road, off the A6103 near Ladybower Dam. It was a narrow winding road and I followed it up until I came across a stile and there was space for a couple of cars so get there early 😀 I hope that helps.
Omg! Beautiful place! Loved your video and it's quite inspiring, would be great if you could check out my video shot in peak district as well!
Thank you!
I wonder if I would like to hike there? (Read my name).
You are destined to hike there Martin🤣
