  • Living on a boat may be my best decision yet! Here's an extended tour of my 24 foot pontoon houseboat. This was the first video I ever filmed, so my camera presence is pretty gnarly! (I've gotten a lot better some may say) Check out my channel to see what my live-aboard lifestyle is like! Comment your questions, and thanks for watching. Happy boating!

    Use Velcro or magnets on a piece of fabric to use as a curtain for your bathroom window. That way its as flat to the wall as possible and then you are not bumping into the rod. That way you will have more private when showering

      Marissa Myer you’re very welcome. 😉 we lived on a boat for a short time a 72 Chris craft power boat. I wanted a sailboat but my fiancé wanted a power boat. We lived on the hook out in Gulfport Florida. I loved it at first but when the first storm hit I was terrified. I think if we would’ve been in a slip it would’ve been fine . Unfortunately I couldn’t find any slips available in our area. We’ve been living in Rv’s for the past 5 years and love it. Unfortunately we’ve been stationary due to working. I want to get a van to travel in though soon. Keep up the great videos !!! 👍😁

You can always get steel sliding doors. Theres no reason you can't do it now unless it's financials or emotional obligation. Oh and no reason not to put a balastrade around the boat and fill it in with plexi glass or mesh or wood or fibreglass or anything else that your mind can think of that is suitable for you and your daighter

    Are you in salt water or fresh? Your engine has anodes that are to be replaced more frequently in salt water. They prevent your engine from rotting away. Do not neglect if you want your engine to last a long time. Maintenance is cheaper than replacement! Plus nobody likes to be towed...

    • @houseboatgirl4764
      @houseboatgirl4764  4 года назад +1

      Salt! It used to be a fresh water boat. My engine is down for the video but usually up! I clean it periodically because with where I am stuff still grows! I couldn’t agree with you more! Thanks for commenting!

    • @keje45
      @keje45 4 года назад +3

      The growth can be controlled by using anti-fouling paint. The anodes (all) should be done now! It's a Honda, which means it is very prone to rot. Not the best choice for salt water, but it's what you got so don't wait. Block anodes and externals. This is advice from someone with 32 years of salt water boat repair experience.

  • @mazdarx7887

      @@houseboatgirl4764 I'm surprised no told you about flushing and not to keep your motor down. most outboards have a flushing port. Also look at and change your anodes if they are bad.

      dr reckoff Hi! Yes I know that’s what usually should be done, however my gas tank was actually built on too close to it and I have it up as much as possible. I clean it regularly so it doesn’t see much damage! All I can do haha

    I want to live on a house boat but I know nothing about boats ... did you have knowledge about boats before buying and moving into one ?

    • @houseboatgirl4764
      @houseboatgirl4764  4 года назад +1

      Great question! Not really honestly! You will learn as you go. Plus boaters love to help and share their knowledge. All I knew is that I wanted to live on the water.
