Watched before a few months ago but enjoyed seeing the fact you took a 1971 houseboat and renovated it to your needs and comfort were simply charming and pleasing... We took a $200.00 slide in truck cab over CAMPER, gutted it and completely rewired it with house wire and from a 20 AMP to a 50 or 30 AMP BOX and Plug in... installed an 11 amp microwave, 110 WATT 5 CF refer-freezer, Power Stabilizing Jack's, Electric heater and airconditioner. Propane stovetop and oven. And a 5 inch queen sized body mold gel mattress, Outside shower, New water tank from 20 gallon to 35 gallon. Keep the 5 gallon water heater size and added a small 110 generator that you can hardly hear run with the 3 ft. exhaust pipe added and oversized muffler... doesn't over heat nor choke down....
WONDERFUL inspiration for others to bring these relics back... You've done a FANTASTICAL job young lady... Many years of memories are waiting for you and family.... CONGRATULATIONS
Great job on the 🚢 boat. Just remember the acronym for BOAT= Bust out another thousand! Don't let a few cloudy days cheat you from having a good time. Reminds me of the houseboat my Dad had, we had some good times on it. We are on Norris as well. Wish I still had it now to enjoy. The freeze dried food is an incredible idea. Loved the video, will be looking for more of your adventures, and who knows, maybe we will run into you on the lake.
Awesome boat and adventures! We have a Zodi Outback shower that we love. It's a stainless pump up sprayer body so you can heat it on a stove burner. I added a stick on aquarium thermometer for quick reference.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LAUNCH as a new boater you will learn that changing the impeller in your water intake once a year helps prevent over heating. Sometimes the impellers will not pump water even when they look fine! The black rubber impeller can be found as cheep as 15 bucks! Good luck. Keep kiddies in life jackets
Thank you William Howell! We've been going on crazy adventures since we got married in 2008 and if there's one thing I've learned, its that things rarely go as planned...and that's ok. I dont hide anything in my videos, I glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Wish I had a little houseboat. You may have mentioned it, but since you are doing boondock water camping, I would go with a 12v / propane frig and a propane small hot water on demand system for the shower and sink. If going on the cheap, get a Cabela's ice chest with some gallon jugs of water frozen and a 1.5 gallon pump sprayer for the shower. The kind you use to spray weeds. but the black bladder shower probably works just fine. I've just never used one. When we beach camp we use a pump sprayer to get the sand and salt off of us.

Hi Bobby Baldeagle, before our daughter was born, we used to travel the country on motorcycles too! We carried camping supplies with us and camped almost the whole way. I didn't have a freeze dryer back them, so we carried dry good groceries like pasta mixes and a little bit of canned food, we really got creative with it. We had so much fun, I would love to take my daughter when she gets older. Thanks for watching!
I think next thing to add after the getting too close to shore thing is a few electric thrusters (couple of trolling motors?) . Great little house boat overall. Would love to have something like that myself. What house boat is this by the way?

Thanks Robert, it never goes as planned, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I seems like I never remember the adventures that were all smooth sailing and calm waters. I always remember the motorcycle rides when we broke down in the middle of nowhere, camping trips that rained the whole time and vacations that didn't go as planned because the flight was delayed. It seems like it takes some hardship or struggle to really engrave these memories on our brain. So, I never mind the hard stuff; it assures that I'll never forget the good stuff. Thanks for watching.
You may want to add some solar panels on top of your houseboat to keep the batteries charged or consider a small portable generator (2000 watt Honda knock-off). Also, if the water pump on the engine was run dry long enough to overheat the engine, the neoprene impeller may have been damaged and should be replaced. They need replacing every few years anyway and it is good to have a spare on board as well. Very nice houseboat.
Thanks for the heads up PDGearhead. The batteries are hooked to solar panels, I've included some information on them in another video and will do more videos on the solar features of the boat. I will definitely check into the issue of the impeller, thanks for the heads up. Thank you for watching!

Hi Ismail, thanks for watching!
What’s the name and year oh this boat
Hi Conner Miller, it was built in 1971 by a speed boat builder in Kentucky as a special order. I have decided on a name for the boat and will be announcing it in an upcoming episode. Thanks for watching!
Sure looked like a slant-6 to me.
Nice, how I wish it is like not that hard to bring child in that adventure, ours is autistic 😔
What are you gonna name the boat?
I've been thinking about a name since I began work on the boat. I have a few things in mind, but haven't settled on anything. I'm open to idea.
Here is an idea for your shower propane insta hot water heater
Question. Are you living on that boat or just vacationing? I am assuming vacationing. Which that's perfect for. I hope your not living on it permanently.
I'm lucky 1000
Yeahhhh, 4 minutes in and I have now decided houseboat living is not for me LOL

Nah, COS. Hard to run ashore when not under power. Hard to grind on the rocks when no waves. Fake drama. Turns out this is a lake. Not the open ocean. Good luck, have fun.
Kevin Hogan You can still grind on rocks from the momentum of the boat drifting into them. Real rudeness on your part. Don’t be a jerk.
