Blown away. Stunning musicianship not just on a technical level, but the feel and the groove is air tight.. Holy shit
Aaaahhhirrrgh tight! Not taken alive!
So glad 5 dudes who love the Dan enough to learn their songs so perfectly all found each other. Would like the back story.
This is what excellence in professional musicianship looks/sounds like!
First of all, Sean and Frank did Larry Carlton so proud with their performance here, especially those twin-lead harmonies at 3:00. Secondly, it's always a hoot to be reminded that Donald Fagen sang the word "dy-no-mite" like he was comedian Jimmie J. J. Walker on "Good Times."
Pretty tight cover....thumbs up
I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, so I will. You guys all wear cool threads in each video. Very professional.
Unbelievable! This is my all-time favorite Steely Dan song (as if I really could pick just one). You guys aced it, while putting your own sweetness to it! EXCELLENT!
Wow, these guys are simply the business.
Talk about a F ing AWSOME JOB ! Man that was Good. Come to Vegas. You guys are Fantastic. This is Definitely One of Your Best. We need a Young Crew to bring this Great Music Back. M.M.
I'm a new fan of Steely Dan, so I'm also a new fan of the Brooklyn Charmers. This version of "Don't Take Me Alive" is so completely perfect, I fell off my chair!! This is one of the songs that benefits from some guy other than Donald singing the main vocal line. Sorry if that sounds sacrilegious, but I just want to hear every S.D. song you guys have covered now, and please do them all.

This my Friends is Awesome Musicianship ! One of Your BEST Studio Performances. This Song is Tight, Smooth, Flowing , and Near Perfection. Everyone is on Point and in the Groove. Always Refer to this Track you laid down, as the Benchmark of Quality your looking for. All performances at this Level will put you Head and Shoulders above the average Musicians. Well Done !
This is an underrated SD song.
I’m a dyed in the wool Dan fan from their beginnings, and this is a cut above the usual average musicianship !! Don’t be too surprised if the great Donald Fagen asked for your skills the next time he decides to go on the road. I would if I were him 🌟
Great piece guys !! Throw in a horn section and you’ve got it made.
Ditto
These guys are sensational on the complete degree!
I have everything I can find featuring every little bit of audio from the two Dan geniuses.
I spent my whole life listening to their outtakes.
I just want to say that for me you are like an alternate universe where they are still fresh and young. Please do the whole discography.
Please do the never recorded DEACON BLUE EXTENDED VERSION that I dream of during my whole life.
Thank you very very much. Put me in your mailing list and spam me with no mercy. From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
How did you guys find each other. Excellence in musicianship AND all you guys harmonize perfectly. Man o man
Perfect cover.
SOO000ooo GOOD! I’m proud to be a fan...
Me too. They are just soooooo good!
Sarah Jahans ...I just listened AGAIN (more like 10 times...) and Sean Briskey’s lead guitar to open the song is incredible.
This band is so tight!
My New Favorite Band !
That was gorgeous!
The intro always sets my arm hairs on end. 🥰
Like these guys. Singer’s got a great tone.
Wow this is really consummate musicianship. So glad I found your band
Nicely done ! Steely Dan rules !
Goosebumps dudes.
Boy! How good is this???
SWEET! I love the way you a a little of yourselves in the arrangement but still stay true to the original. Lead singer: very nice rendering sung well and true without the cheesy embellishments I've heard so many Steely tribute bands do. Thanks!
Beautiful rendition guys, one of my all time favorites! Great to see the lead parts played on a strat, you just saved me from buying a 335!
That was so damn good. Thanks for keeping this music alive guys.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Really terrific and perfect performance of a fantastic song.
Just simply stunning - so authentic. The Dan were sooo special and so hard to replicate - because they used to do so many takes in the studio to achieve perfection. But here you guys are just nailing it Live - Walter would be so proud!
Awesome job!! That's actually my ring tone. Not many great Dan covers out there. This ones great!!
Another great cover. In addition to enjoying this version it makes me feel even more in awe of the original writers. Becker and Fagen were on a completely different level. Their music will last for decades, if not centuries. I've been listening to SD for 45 years already and the genius writing makes everything sound just as fresh as it did when it was released.
Everything you do amazes me. So good.
Long time Dan fan. This is great! Also, dig the fact that there is a G&L in the group.
Love the G&L Legacy! Sounds excellent.
These guys are fabulous... unreal how great they sound.
just wonderful
Great as usual! Still waiting for Do It Again and Hey Nineteen!!
Pure❤
Put out a Warning for that funk. I got it all over me. Wow.
Very Well Done! Nice!
Just love S.Dan’s quirky storyline, as always...and these guys cover it in an interesting way; making the song their own
w/o compromising that amazing guitar solo work.
Man this sounds so great, guys… thank you
Beautiful.
COME PLAY LOS ANGELES!!! BETTER YET ORANGE COUNTY!!!
The Dan is so pure…. The aesthetic is perfect
Fantastic…. Beautiful singing
Too good. Fantastic. Love it.
That solo intro break sounds great on that strat! Love the lead vocals and vocal harmonies. More live music with actual musicians playing proper instruments please!! ❤️❤️
Woooooooooooow
These guys are so good
That's Bad Ass!
Whoa!
This just came up in my feed. Love this version! You guys are solid. Groove is on.
Good choice to keep the songs as they are without extra keys etc. And no overdone copying. Realy nicy to listen to.
Superb
This is outstanding!!
WOW
Wow! Great cover...
Dude u guys do all the deep good cuts, well done
Boo yeah!
Nailed it!
only a few shots of the bass player? what is the matter with the cameraman?
First time I heard this track I put it on loop for the rest of the day. Hard to choose but this is my favourite steely Dan track. Well played guys
Amazing! Such musicianship. I do appreciate this homage. My fav music when I was 17, 18.
Brilliant
Awesome!!!!
Never a bad video! Rock on!
another great job boys. I used to go after Dead cover bands cause there were no Dan bands. Keep at it .
Keyboard tone is perfect, lead guitar tone leaves a lot to be be desired it needs a bit more overdrive. That being said, what a great rendition of a killer song.
Excellent...
Fabulous. Having been a UK SD fan since their 1st Album, I am amazed how these guys can replicate studio quality live. That said I was lucky enough to see SD live at Wembley and have to say they were a little disappointing. Now if you want to watch and listen to the VERY BEST SD tribute, go down the thumbnails to the Norwegian band who posted 13 years ago.
Their combination of SD authentic sound PLUS vocals from the lead and 2 fab ladies is SENSATIONAL.
Wow, you guys sound fantastic!!!
Sounds class!! 👌
Amazing, what a good group of musicians.
Whoa! Excellent rendition!
Nice job covering SD
get your asses over here to the east coast!!! Bijou in Bridgeport? Or Daryl's House in Pawling maybe?
Alright, best wishes!
Great job, camera should have been on the guitar the whole time for that killer opening riff.
Well done, man.
Really good 💪💪
Woderful
wow! subscribed.
I love Steely Dan and you guys nail it.
, RIGHT from the start.
You guys nailed it. Vocals can't ever match Fagen. Overall 4.5/5. 👏👏
Incredible talent and dedication to the art. I’ve watched most of their stuff and it never disappoints. The harmonies are spot on and honestly Steely Dan never sounded this tight on this and many of their other songs they did live. Love the vocals, anyone who says different isn’t listening correctly. HAA!!
Excellent 👍👌😀
Son!!!
astounding as usual.
Very nice ! Love it!
Nice!
Larry Carlton would be proud.
Not bad, y'all. Not bad. :)
show
Really nice cover! 💖🌈
where is the 2 thumbs up button?!
Better than most who try to copy Carlton's lead.
Drummer has a lot to learn from Purdy. 99.9% of them do, so go after it.
