You guy,s hands down are the best SD cover band on the scene. I,ve been a Steely Dan fan since 1974! I know all the lyrics and nuances, beside that they are my favorite band@ i sae them live in 2014 in New Orleans on 3 day,s rest@ 2hr show. I was on my feet for the majority of the show! Thx Guy,s😊😊😊
Absolutely AMAZING!!! Seriously, guys! Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (RIP) would approve! So glad you stayed true to the song! I'm just so, so impressed!
I’ve liked SD since 1979, listening to Aja and then working backwards. Other bands/groups have come and gone, but SD has remained a constant. Wonderful to see such a quality group of musicians continue the legacy…
If you have yet to, I would love to hear you guys cover Donald Fagen's brilliant 1982 solo debut, "The Nightfly." Equally memorable songs on that album.
I love your sound and your looseness with this. You’re staying very close to original but the freedom is there and it’s so great to hear. So many others get all tight and fussy
Superb cover! Of all the great SD guitar work, the solo in GT II has always been one of my favorites and man, it was expertly played! The improvisation on the closing solo was also crafted quite well and added a new twist. You guys are amazing and your musicianship shines!
The first time I saw Steely Dan live was in 1973 at Iowa State University. And about three times since, the last time in 2015, shortly before Walter passed away . You guys do them nothing but proud. I will be joining your shows in and around Chicago as my schedule permits. Thanks for this.
I didn't see them until April 1974 at the U. of Toledo. I've always wondered if they had "Midnite Cruiser" on their '73 set list, with drummer Jim Hodder on lead vocal. They never did on their '74 tour of the U.S. and England.
@@andyinoregon I didn't get to see them until 2018 here in the UK. Walter had left us by then, but I've been buying their albums since 1972, so seeing Donald live was like a dream come true.
The most faithful recreation of these Steely Dan deep cuts that a fan could ever hope to hear. The last time I saw Becker & Fagen live (Aug. 13, 2013 at Troutdale, Oregon's Edgefield Amphitheater), they opened the show with 1973's "Your Gold Teeth." It was good, but not nearly this good!
Back in 89-92 , I used to play bass with a band that did Steely Dan covers, along with Grateful Dead, Little Feat, the Band, and other such music with staying power ~~~ We never did hit these two, but I take great pleasure in your post of these two chestnuts, esp. the freedoms you took with GT2 towards the end of the tune. "Thank you for keeping great music alive."
Well......Just F me runnin'!!!! These MF'rs are SO FUCKING GOOD!!!!!😮 I want to highlight great individual performances but I can't do it. They ALL are F'n gorgeous musicians. Singing keys ,bass, that Drummer! But these Bro's on Guitar are both special. 🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶
Wow. This performance shows both how absolutely brilliant the original songs and performances were, and what fantastic musicians these guys are. Your blending of note-for-note tribute with enhanced soloing and interpretation is brilliant. I can't stop hitting repeat.
Impeccable. Another jaw-dropping performance by what is clearly the greatest Steely Dan cover band in existence. I feel fortunate to get to watch and hear you guys play. I'd also be willing to bet that y'all might have some originals. Would love to hear those, too, if they exist. Cheers!
Oh wow guys full chills both arms. These are 2 of my favorite songs by The Dan. There are about 30 on the list of my favorites but these are 2. Dumb Luck My Friend Won’t Suck Me In This Time… .. .
These guys are nailin’ it on 2 difficult songs. Tight and obviously well rehearsed. Dan is my fav band - unseating The Beatles in 1976 as my favorite. Thanks!🎶🕶️
Absolutely inspiring and a joy to watch and hear. Hearing these pieces performed by others somehow (for me anyway) makes their genius and quality stand out even more. And hey, I know you say it's all hard work, time, practice and dedication, but you guys also have that extra essential 'thing'. Whatever it is!
SPECTACULAR job guys! And SD has been one of my obsessions since the 70s. They were much before their time! David Crosby was quite fascinated by Steely Dan's music.
Very impressive! I'm a lifelong SD fan - like everyone else here- have seen them live dozens of times- you guys absolutely nailed it! Thanks for doing it Right!
This band is tight. I'd go out of my way to see them and I've seen SD several times perform live. The lead vocals are as they would have been had Fagan been blessed with a sweeter voice.
Incredible! I’m blown away by the musicianship, vocals, arrangements and how you all solo so beautifully! Without a doubt you are one of the best SD tribute bands on the planet.
I'm 54 & Your Gold Teeth II is one of my all time favourite songs. Tin Pan Alley (SRV) is up there too But I loved your cover. Man, you can all play I was only disappointed that the camera didn't stay on the soloists guitar when he played the solo. I can't play, but i just love seeing great musicians playing hard solos Still, a brilliant performance
I remember the Gold in Cleveland at the music box....love this recent version of II..... Matts perfect rendition of Denny's leads coupled with Sean's improvised conclusion in jamband vernacular was sonic joy to the ears.... Hope to see y'all back in Cleveland
This is my first time hearing of this [beyond] tribute band - instant subscribe! Wow, these guys are playing Dan tunes and doing their own thing at same time and owning it! I actually wanna have this in my playlist alongside the Dan.
I'm going to mention it as I never see this in the comments - but amazing musicianship aside - those vocals... wow - these are not easy harmonies and you guys nailed it - I can only imagine how many times you've practiced this thing...
This is criminally under-liked and viewed. Holy moly.
Criminey! True!
Major dudes!
Phenomenal
These guys ain't no damn cover band!!! Just a little bit too good for that 👌
Your gold teeth II is the best Steely Dan song of all time
Agreed!
3/4 time from a "rock" band? Amazing, right?
@@RustyRogers Porcaro and Dias were incredible on that track... Just legendary.
Without a doubt it’s the most beautiful ❤
I agree! I covered it on my channel :)
Guys, this is not a cover, it's a MIRACLE!!!
Agree. These guys are as good as the studio pros Donald and Walter used back then.
I doubt that, but these guys are worthy of anyone’s respect.
That was brilliant! Donald Fagan should really save himself some money and just hire you guys for his tour.
Well done indeed! Bravo!

Wicked good!
Yall are so damn good!!
Absolutely AMAZING!!! Seriously, guys! Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (RIP) would approve! So glad you stayed true to the song! I'm just so, so impressed!
Guys, loved your improvs!
Note freakin perfect with enhancements. You cats have taken up he Dan Mantle more than admirably.
Let the future Mantle Dan!
Very, very impressive.
I’ve liked SD since 1979, listening to Aja and then working backwards. Other bands/groups have come and gone, but SD has remained a constant. Wonderful to see such a quality group of musicians continue the legacy…
"In this number, several members of the Dan get to "Stretch Out"."
Every note. Every beat...true to form and spirit! Reborn for these times with so much love and care! Thank YOU!!
So true
This is a work of art. I just love listening to this. It’s perfection
Completely agree!!
Fuckin incredible. You did the original justice no doubt, amazing work from all involved
The Your Gold Teeth I keyboard solo is utterly flawless
nice mixture of Steely Dan and Allman Brothers Band at the end. Fantastic!
Very Allman Bros. like at the end !
Yep, very Allman Brothers "Blue Sky" at 13:50 here.
Interesting. Yeah, that transition to organ at 7:09 is really evocative of AB. Good ear!
That´s great!
This came up on recommended videos. I love the Dan, perfect music, and a brilliant cover version. I hope that you keep at it.
These guys are great. They do Steely Dan justice, and that's very hard to do.
This is closer to the Steely Dan studio sound than Steely Dan live, I always wondered how these tunes would be stitched together. Perfect.
the fade in of kathy bubarian is perfect
Especially with her picture on his laptop at the same moment. Very smart.
Cathy Berberian!! Becker and Fagen were so high brow.
Did you notice her picture on his laptop just as he started that line? Very cool little gem.
@ I didn’t! Good eye Scott. I’ll check it out.
Man you nerds kill it -- bless your gold teeth
Putting these two tunes together...brilliant!
WOW, well done!!!
Decent ;)
Jesus that new guitarist is a complete monster.
Yeah but I miss the other dude too.
these guys are amazing. they sound almost better than the original
Absolutely incredible. The bass solo followed by drums at 7:45 was insane.
The split second tandem bass/ keyboard notes at 3:33-4 is wonderful. The whole keyboard solo is remarkable, and all the more with that cool-ass shirt😂
If you have yet to, I would love to hear you guys cover Donald Fagen's brilliant 1982 solo debut, "The Nightfly." Equally memorable songs on that album.
Part two is such a great song. My favourite.
I love your sound and your looseness with this. You’re staying very close to original but the freedom is there and it’s so great to hear. So many others get all tight and fussy
Sublime, well done chaps
That jam in the middle!!

I've seen them 4 times as well, extremely lucky i guess considering how little they toured.

@@steffanmaximum How lucky that we can hear that May 1974 concert at London's Rainbow Club anytime we want here on RUclips.

Your band sounds like it would have been a great hang.
That transition from pt 1 to 2 was like ice cream...damn smooth. My favorite from BC!

that was completely devastating. - Signed, Fanfare (1995)
Wow. This performance shows both how absolutely brilliant the original songs and performances were, and what fantastic musicians these guys are. Your blending of note-for-note tribute with enhanced soloing and interpretation is brilliant. I can't stop hitting repeat.
Oh My God - tremendous!!!
Wow, very complex, excellent musicians!

Wow. That was great. Parts I AND II! And nailed both... 👍
And to think I thought almost nobody ever should be covering the Dan... Impressive AF! Subbing in 3..2..
Cant wait to see this band again.
The transition from YGT1 to YGT2 🔥
Thank you so much! You are all incredible. I look forward to seeing more videos.
The Bass/guitar licker at 11:55 was really tasty! Nice work
Great musicianship, thanks. A joy.
Legendary solos, masterfully performed.
Two of my SD favorites.
New Charmers drop ALWAYS makes my day 🤓 luscious as always! Thanks guys!

watched this video several times now. Man it's spot on. Can't get much better than this.
These guys are incredibly talented.
Great arrangement to tie these songs together! Excellent improvisations!
This is the best presentation I've seen in recent years. Simply incredible. Congratulations guys.

You guys Rock. Someday I'm going to U.S. just to see you on stage. Greetings from Brazil!
Excellent as usual, but seeing Colin on fire soloing was the highlight!
Simplemente Magnífico!!!
