This video deserves a million views, so simply and beautifuly explained, You have cleared all my doubts in regards to the best suitable mic with gopro. i choose media mod,,,thanks a ton steve, love from INDIA. take care
Steve, on a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being the highest) 3:36 With Media mod mic - 8, 5:25 D4 Duo -7, 7:30 Rode - 9, 9:35 D4 Duo - 7, I think D4 did have the wind noise down but your voice level was low.
I can't believe I still can find an upgrade to my GoPro Hero4 with the SENA Blue tooth adapter. very frustrating what a great pair but stuck with old Hero4
Hi Steve, so I just want to go with a basic vlog, the family vlog you explained sounded pretty good so I just want to go with that. Now my question is, I would need to buy the Movo VXR10 mic along with buying the Media Mod and use both at the same time to get the sound quality right? Thanks for your video, it's very helpful!!!
That is correct. You can use the dongle but that is a pain because it is just hanging there and you have to buy a special case. Here is what works best for me for family vlogs. I use the Hero 10 with the media mod then I like to use the deity D4 duo because it has a mic for in front of and behind the camera and that just plugs into the media mod. Now if you do not want to buy the deity get the rode or Movo VXR10 but just remember that if you are behind the camera you have to speak louder than people in front. You should get a great result!
The Media Mod, on Internal mic test, you missed. that would see if the wind actually gets side tracked by NO HOLES on the moule for the three mics gopro claimes (SMILES)
Thanks for the video, very helpful! What set up would you suggest for someone like me who needs to charge the gopro continuously. Also need to run for 7-8 hours so the Rode won't last the session. Currently I use the built in mic with a foam surround for the gopro. Does an okay job for little cost
I would use a mic that does not require power like the rode video micro. If what you are using is doing the job then why spend money just use what ya got. The rode wireless go last up tp 7 hours btw
@@fishaunangling I see now. On my Live streams I use a USB mic plugged into my computer. In your computer settings you can use video and audio from 2 different sources. If you want to go the wireless route then possibly use a small battery bank to power the mic. You can charge it and use it at the same time.
@@SteveWB You can also probably just use the powerbank to plug into the gopro to get even more recording time. Also it solves the overheating issue by transferring the heat to the external battery. Not sure which to use? i see people started using the lipstick size external battery's. My hero10 comes in the mail tomorrow i haven't had a gopro since hero3/4 days so i am pretty stoked. Since i'm going heavy on the new channel, cheers.
I think that requires a different adapter. It is a 2 in 1 usbc. The single side goes in the camera and the dual side is where you hook up power and audio.
$5 1. Take a rectangle piece of 3M double sided tape. 2. Place over front microphone. 3. Use a razor to cut out a small square from the tape around the front facing mic. 4. Cut out a matching sized piece of a foam Soda/Beer Koozie 5. Place onto the 3M tape, fully encapsulating the mic holes. Great for reducing wind noise and if you do it right it can be done in 5 mins and save you lots of time and money!
Awesome video sir and very informative! I just bought a gopro10 and i am looking for solutions for audio! You helped me a lot! In my opinion the gopro media mod is the best to hook up my wirelesss mics!!
