Why Are the Affliction Warlock Changes SO GOOD?!

- Looking at the latest 10.1.5 ptr notes, the affliction warlock changes are looking amazing and it does give hope for the spec maybe making a comeback, at least in popularity :) Affliction warlock buffs or not, talents are way better and if they keep to this philosophy and we get even more 10.1.5 warlock changes (except Demo lol) there are definitely good times ahead! Are you ready to test out that 10.1.5 affliction warlock? What do you think?

Affliction would be great Vile Taint could be reduced in cooldown to allow you to keep Agony up in AOE without having to hard cast them. Or change Agonizing Corruption, a talent nobody takes, to have every Seed explosion increase the duration of Agony on the target by 1sec.
That would be dope, similar to Shadow Crash
If only Unstable Affliction and Seed of Corruption could apply Agony and Corruption, nontheless these changes are still huge improvement!
Lets not say "apply" but "extend" instead... like that Balance druid Starfall talent.
It would be even more important if Vile Taint, or what its called, had a 10 sec cooldown in order for u to have a perma dot on aoe pulls...
Just makes them in dungeons way more playable.

New Doom Blossom looks like it'll be fun (if tuned well) and I would really like if we were able to cast Seeds while moving... and/or Rapture

Vile Taint should apply all dots apart from UA like shadow crash..... that would be huge

I think affliction makes more sense if they changed malefic rapture and soul drain around. Malefic rapture would be your builder/dot spreader. And soul drain would drain and tick damage on all your targets with dots up to 8 targets. Just like what drain life does with soul rot. But it would drain a %per second of your soul shards. The more soul shards you have the longer the channel.
Being aff main for like ever , no matter whats the current meta. Most players switch to any current meta but arent good at anything partucular for that matter. Better good at low tier spec than mediocre player at "meta" one.

I played adfi since cata and i miss it so much.. Death bolt affi was really fun in raid, i enjoyed it so much! After rapture came in, I tried it for 2hours, logged out and i havent been on it since 😢

What would y’all think if a talent that made agony apply corruption and make UA be able to be cast on more than 1 target, like vamp touch?

Dude same. I decided to make a survival hunter because I figured no one plays this class so why would they pay any attention to it? Not even a week after I made it they nerfed mongoose bite in PVE by 10%. 😩
1:23 how do you get your abilities on the enemy nameplate glow when they are in pandemic window? I have a nameplate Addon but it’s not clear how to get that function. Thanks in advance

Soul burn soul swap and dot extension (eg with malefic rapture) would be awesome. I also don’t get why it takes 2 talents in the pre last row of talents. Don’t know many classes if any actually that has to spend 4 talents for their high end skills. For example the haunt tree is horrible cuz you have to spend four talents to get the skill that matters the most, while the first three are insignificant.
On the other hand the generic class talent tree has inaccuracies. Like demo/destro have the option for faster drain life when they don’t even learn the skill. Moreover, many insignificant options there that no one ever chooses. Finally lots of skills on two-pointers there as well for no reason, while these points could be well places elsewhere.

What I would have loved to see?
Remove Limit of UA!
Make Gateway Mastery, Rapid Contagion, Rot&Decay baseline/baseline Talents/Affliction-Talents !
Remove garbage talents from class-talents, because we have plenty of them!
Affliction lock is an insanely fun spec for me I can't wait for these changes

Actually the buffed UA by 10% so combined with xavius's gambit its roughly the same.... 1% dmg increase overall tho.
Obviously ‘maths’ but what if UA went back to being unlimited.
What if Soul Swap copy pasted all from one to another.
What if Malefic Rapture DETONATED all remaining damage on dots up on any target you have 4 or more dots ticking on.
Also be lovely for ‘afflicting’ targets that every dot added a 5% slow. Or a 5% DR.
There are bright and dark sides of incoming changes. Good all we know but bad is that AFF is going to be even more Seed turret. No Seed = No Damage. Which also moves us away from AFF being real dot-base spec. 60% Seed + "Seed" blossom overall damage welcome back.
Would love to see dot based aoe damage profile but hardly believe devs will commit making that the case. For example agony to hit like truck in multi target scenario.
@@peshodobrev911 Not sure... Shadow does work somehow. It's not like its damage is 90% dots but maintaining VT and Pain does matter a lot. Doom Blossom could work if you have all 3 dots on target it's AoE
Doom blossom change seems pretty good , fun and exciting. Was about time to make it usable. It was very cringe of a talent so far - 0 damage and messing up using st spender in aoe situation.
If i ever play range i always play affliction or shadow priest because i like dot play :D but actually its to many globals till you are in the fight 😅

@@MarcelianOnline I dunno it seems like something like shadow crash would have been the most useful. Combine seed of corruption and vile taint into one ability.

Afflication is the worst hardcore spec ever made. Pain in the ess. Should be 1 cast that pull all dots and 2 AOE abilities that repull all dots and that is it.

i was maining lock in bfa/sl and rerolled it to dev evoker for df. I think lock is such unfun trash this xpec but ppl were fine because with it from beginning because its do dmg xd for most ppl doing dmg is the only thing thats make spec fun, no matter if you press 1 button or have nice gameplay rotation, didnt even followed locks in DF since its just so unfun comapred to bfa/sl so wonder what suddenly changed and ppl start to cry about demo changes. i literally see like 0 locks in game, theres dh/dk/lock tier set and often theres 0 players of these specs in raid, meanwhile half of raid is under rogue/evoker/monk/warrior token xdd
